    James and Thomas are great and the key reason why so many of us come back for more, but I wanted to say props to the editors and production as well. I know production quality has been steadily increasing over the years of watching you guys, but something about this video made me realize how far you've all come compared to the videos from way back when. Props!

    Copywriting is epic ("that sounds like I'm in between radio stations" - nice image), filming and editing are next level, it's all professional AND fun! And compared to the said trio, this channel remains focussed mainly on car testing and reviews. Love it. Nice job and thanks for that.

      I don't understand why everything needs to be compared to Top Gear. "This is the new Top Gear", etc comments.
      Why can't this just be good content on it's own without being compared to Top Gear? Clearly this specific video is nothing like your typical Top Gear video, and that does not matter. It's a good video with it's own script and idea.

Now Throttle House gives us absolute good content and we finally have car shows that meet THE reference, new standards set by those 3 blokes. When you have Jason Camisa on your channel, it’s because your channel is a good one. And I’m sure that Thomas and James arw proud to read that they are “compared” to THE reference.

    14:50 I would actually argue that you don't have to buy a 911 S/T to get this kind of experience, because a new ND Miata at 2,300 LBS offers a very similar drive to this car. Extremely light weight, a revvy NA engine, soft suspension, little sound deadening and a fantastic manual gearbox. But apart from that, this really is it. What a glorious machine.

      Bro, thats like comparing me to Brad Pitt cause were both made of meat... You wont get this kind of out of a Miata, period. • @tyler9703
      @tyler9703 8 місяців тому +8

      @@AI-qd4vb I can guarantee you haven't actually driven an ND if you call the engine "anemic" or the chassis "fragile". There's very little cowl shake to speak of, only over rough train tracks, and the engine is a wonderfully responsive unit with throttle response like a motorbike, and revs that drop the instant you go for an upshift. It is true the Miata is not a laser-precise machine, but if you watch the S/T review again, neither is that in comparison to the GT3. If you actually boil down what makes the 911 S/T special, the Miata offers pretty much the same kind of experience minus the horsepower, but even then the power it has is enough for someone that doesn't care about the number on the dash, rather how the car actually feels to rev out. For a tenth of the price, that's pretty damn impressive.

Firstly, the Cayman was a good driving car, the flat 6 sounded amazing and the PDK was the fastest I've driven. Having said that Porsche pricing is insane. This 10 year old Cayman S with upholstery damage, fender damage and PPF needing to be replaced was $45k.
    They had candy colored almost new 911 turbo S's in the showroom for $299k and $280 respectively, for used sub-1000 mile cars. Umm Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Aston Martin...
    I'll take a Z06 for almost 1/3rd the cost or a Lotus Emira for 1/3rd, F-Type R, SL 63AMG... Too many drink the Porsche Kool-Aid.

  • @ezcatch77
    @ezcatch77 8 місяців тому

    Great review but you missed the point of the steering feel. The issue with the quick steering of the GT3 and 3RS is on compound turns many have spun because the rear cannot catch up to the quickness of the front.
    In fact, in those cars, best results are achieved by slowing down your hands. This ST, on the other hand, feels natural. It feels like the best version of steering Porsche has produced. I did NOT miss the quick steering feel of the rear wheel steer available on the other GT cars. The ST is a car that asks for more the more you push it.
    The steering has NOT been dulled down. The feel is AMAAAZING!!! What they’ve done is slow it down compared to the all wheel steer GT cars but it is PERFECTLY in tune with its chassis.
    This is an important distinction. Dull implies lack of feel and the ST steering is one of the best I have felt in 30 years. Slowed it down a bit, yes. With GREAT results. Dulled it down? Not in the least bit.
    All in all, fun vid to watch👍

      If you want to pass modern safety standards, and hit Porsche's performance _and_ reliability standards, and _not_ cost millions of dollars like a GMA T.50... You end up weighing around 3000 pounds.
      Note that the McLaren 750s weighs about the same... And that Ferrari couldn't hit this number if the company's life depended on it.
      As for Thomas's 50k stripped-down manual, RWD, 300HP dream car... That's just unrealistic car journalist mouthings. You absolutely can _NOT_ engineer an uncompromised platform to base a car like that on and hit anything _near_ the 50k price point in 2024. Absolutely not.

As someone lucky enough to be able to afford one, I will not indulge Porsche in their artificial supply restrictions for their nice models. I will not buy 10 Macans to be able to “Hopefully” get an “allocation” for a high spec 911. The base 992 is a bore. There is no reason why the GT3, etc should be limited - they can make any spec 911 that goes down the line.
