Great vid! Just a quick update on securing the studs on the cover plate and having more than one bolt holding the sensor. If you are converting from a TRD Off-Road with the sensor you can migrate over the nuts and bolts from your original grille which will firmly hold the sensor in place on the new grille. (1 screw, 2 nuts/bolts left and right of the sensor) Also according to Toyota, you also need to use two new push nuts on the pegs at the top of the sensor. All those in place hold the sensor very securely. just completed my upgrade. with no issues.
Two things... 1) You can use push washers for the top two pegs that come out the back to make it even more secure. 2) Many Tacoma owners also get the extended wire harness to hide the wires better. Great vid though. Excited to see how the black one turns out with more mods.
I literally laughed when he said this. And, I was following the video! I figured it out before he went there, thankfully. Like yeah, "The TRD pro is the nicest truck, but Toyota decided to use less screws". Haha!
David Hernandez yes, I bought a cheaper one first (around $100) from a different site and the sensor cover didn’t fit right. Also just like this dude says, the detail was not the same as the OEM. I bought a set of markers from the too. Very happy with the purchase.
@@frankster1969 Thanks for the info! I'm going to snag one for my 2017 TRD OR. Don't have a sensor but was curious on quality. Sounds like a solid buy for the price though.

Best video out of the 5 or so I found. Thanks for taking the time to go through the details. I ended up ordering all OEM though because I live in Northern NY and want to be sure the plastics hold up when the temps drop to -10 to -20 in the winter.
Mado Mad yes I did. Took a while to have it shipped from China. I was a little disappointed that the “TOYOTA” letters needed to be 3M taped on like the cheaper $80 grills. I thought the video said that it we wouldn’t need to do that. I painted the T and A’s background black because they were grey. Overall, I’m happy with the product. I bought a genuine garnish too. No error codes.
No way dude it has the 3M tape?? Wow that's the exact reason I didnt buy the others off Amazon. I havent recieved mine it's still in China and I'm already disappointed smh
Mado Mad Yeah but it really does look pretty good. There are more details cuts on this grill than the others. I recommend not only using the 3M but throw in some super glue so it holds tight for longer. I get a lot of compliments on it so don’t think you’re getting a bad product!

Great video. Only thing is you don't have to take off the 4 clips you took off from the bottom of grill. Just the 2 10mm bolts and the 2 clips near the headlights.

Hey man! For the nuts and bolts that were on the side ... you were supposed to remove the nuts from the TRD grille, they slide out and will slide into the TRD pro. It works tho 🤷🏻♂️✔️
