I have better luck pulling the backing off if the transfer tape side is on the table then peel back the backing. I also use parchment paper under most of the design and only stick down a small portion to line it up then take away the parchment paper and smooth down the design. Also Cricut has a large scraper that is easier for large designs.

haven't tried the smart vinyl on my maker, but I am not a fan of it for the Joy. I have a hard time transferring it to the transfer sheet and then even harder to get it on the project. Like your design!

I've used the Joy, too. That is interesting for sure. I've only used smart materials so I don't have anything to compare it to. I know Cricut would love to have your feedback. You should send them an email.

Tip: Try putting a pillow behind you in the chair so you sit up straighter.
