Woodworking - Making a wooden lantern

- I have wanted to make a lantern for some time, so I decided to make this and I am so happy with how it turned out. It is made out of some old pieces of pine and some sheath metal. Lanterns of this type were originally covered with rawhide, but I didn't have any, so I decided to use baking paper and it works very well. The lantern has a super good glow and is beautiful. I hope you like watching the video, and if you have any questions about it feel free to ask away in the comments. Thanks for watching!

I would like one at home!
It gives such a lovely light!
Well, that lantern style is a lot younger 😉
Nice build. Thanks for sharing. Very clever lifting system for the candle! Aren't you afraid of fire hazard. Wood, paper and a narrow space is not an ideal combination.
thank you :D! no i always keep a good eye on it :D!
Наконец-то! Заждался уже!
happy you like it brother :D!

I don't think there is any evidence of vikings having a lantern like this, rawhide or otherwise. Therefore it really doesn't matter what you use for cover...looks good
what oil did you use?
i dis not use any oil , it was a water based stain :D
Маленький совет бро! Чтобы деревяшка не треснула, когда ты в неё гвоздь забиваешь, надо у гвоздя откусить острый конец! Или засверлить отверстия перед этим.
thank you for the tip brother :D!
