My Dad had a 96 Ford Taurus in silver just like this one, was a nice car and for the time had a powerful engine. I got it from him as a High school graduation gift and had it awhile. He later got a 2001 Mercury Sable LS Premium which is identical to this car except had the leather seats and moonroof with mach audio packages. That car was also sweet. But the last new Ford sedan he had before getting a brand new 2018 Ford Escape SE Suv was a 2010 Fusion Sport in silver too with the 3.5 DOHC which I bought and have now off him. I'd say this car pretty much replaced the old Taurus and Sable mid- sized designs. Now the current Fusions are being phased out shame, shame , shame Ford.
I've driven the 1st and 3rd generation Taurus. I really liked them. Such a comfortable, roomy, and nice driving car. They did so much right. The problem was the overall quality. A lot of problems. Airbag electronic module failure, fuel pump, power steering pump, transmission, inaccurate fuel gauge, dash delamination. The list goes on.
Even though I don't mind seeing this generation of the Ford Taurus in green (the most prevalent color) I really like the blue Ford Taurus shown in the video.
i had one last year here in anchorage alaska as a winter vehicle... the front wheel drive and low wide body made it handle great in the snow with good winter tires.
Christopher Evers These were great vehicles for the snow. Nice and heavy upfront for good traction in the snow. Winter tires almost made it unstoppable in most conditions. The third generation of Taurus featured in this video I always felt had better build quality than the fourth generation
I live in Ohio; so our winters are particularly nasty at times. Most recently was winter storm Elliot; which brought new meaning to the term "white Christmas." I have seen many people driving a third generation Ford Taurus (and its stablemate the Mercury Sable) without much of a fuss in winter weather.
@@SarahWilliams-bj4bu when I bought the car the odometer stopped rolling at 197k which based off of service records was abt 7 years ago. the starter and the fuel pump died during my ownership as well. Overall it wasn’t bad considering how cheap the parts were to replace and how well the car drove/rode
@@hakeemsd70m Neither! Had a vacuum leak and the kid I bought it from thought it was something worse. Rigged a couple lines back together in his driveway and drove it home. lol
such a beautiful car
I love these cars of the nineties, they are reliable!

Ours lasted 200K but it did go through a transmission. The dash padding was peeling up by the end.

This was our family car growing up but my parents were broke so we had an SE with the super slow revving Vulcan engine lol
That's the one I have right now, but mine is an 02
My favorite model !!!
Our 96 GL looked exactly like the one in the video except it was silver metallic and had same wheels and interior as this one
What about the 96 Taurus SHO 32 Valve Duratec/Cossworth/Yamaha V8?
I never got the hate for the styling tbh, the interior oval radio thing was a bit tacky but besides that it seemed fine and I liked the nose
My favorite Taurus ever made. Still looks good today. Built better than the one they just stopped making too.
Can i buy this car at this year? 2019
How much is that?
Lmao I got mine for 250$ so just look around on fb market place
@@cjmitt1337 thank you
Felipe FL no problem
@@cjmitt1337 what was she like upon purchase? Many issues?

I have one! I like it my car color is red metallic. i love her so much
This ford Taurus is to Round like a bubble shape fish lights
This Taurus was never a head turner. But the 86 Taurus certainly was when it first came out.
It is now hah
@@EzekielPrado Yeah I guess so now.
It was a head turner, just not for the right reasons.
@@melvinharris7859 So true lol
I had a 98 SHO years ago and just bought a 99 LX Duratec with 108k for $800 lol - these are good, basic cars
$800????? Did you get it from an auction or junkyard?

Ford ruined the Taurus with the 3rd gen version. The only thing I like about the 96-99 gen was the Duratec engine.
