One more tip: Off the bike and make sure the bike is not in Neutral position to avoid accidental backward or forward rolling while lifting. Mostly it happens in incline or decline terrain.

Extremely helpful for a skinny guy like me. 😅. But you forgot two things.
First thing, turn off your bike and second thing, put your bike in gear so that it won't roll while lifting.

I have a BMW1250R and dropped it once whilst maneuvering on my drive (foot slipped on some leaves). Had engine bars (BMW issue, and to me essential) and it rested on the bar and the back tyre. No damage at all to the bike (or even to the bar). Due to its low centre of gravity had no trouble lifting the bike to vertical. Pray to God I do not come off at speed. May God protect me.

  • @willibordus

Yes, that is at 45° sleep position, because it has engine guard bracket or in other cases it has panniers box, so the bike falls position not really in flat position... still possible to get it up again. But if it drops at 90° position, bike flat sleep, or even the rear wheel facing to the sky, it is almost impossible to lift that 200-250kg up by self at that position 😩

Another key when lifting is to keep your chin up to maintain a straight back in lieu of rounded, which increases likelihood of injury. Great video.

Greetings from England: I loved your video; I have never thought of lifting a fallen bike by your methods 1 & 3, but by always facing the bike. This has worked for me as a younger man but it puts an enormous strain on your lower back especially the lumbar discs!! Looking at your methods 1 & 3, slowly and it in still-frame, I can see that lifting while facing away from the bike - though instinctively in the wrong direction - is far more efficient and of little risk to your back, assuming that you do not have a pre-existing injury (old men take note!). One also has the extra 'push' available from your backside. So 10 out of 10 for technique. I didn't think tech. 2 was possible for a lot of men unless they were very strong as you obviously are, and a lot of strain on the handle bar too. I was also impressed with the way you explained it all, seamlessly transitioning from your language (?) into English. I hear there are quite a few Indian languages. Thank you.
