Because the F-117 can carry max 2x2,000lb guided bombs. Has no guns, missiles and no countermeasures. Meaning any ir missile will instantly kill it if within range to detect it's exhaust (that is reduced in temp). And may I just mention the F-117 has the same/similar top speed to the Buccaneer/Su-25/Harriers.
until the put the early WWII radars like the FuG 200 Hohentweil... it's RCS won't be doing much against UHF and VHF radars made to detect ships at 100Km+

@@daswsecond8764 you're actually going the opposite direction, for clouds to be a problem you'd be looking around K-band and further, the germans did have some units in that spectrum, but were passive recievers. UHF and VHF will go through trees, branches, whatever, but they really arent too accurate for tracking like S-band or X-band. While in use for ships at distances of 100Km, aircraft detection you'd be looking for 10-15km at most, due to size. You'll spot it, but will be basically in your face when the radar pics it up lol. Edit: weather radars can be S, C, X-band commonly, so many late war radars will suffer from cloud clutter for being in that range of centimetric wavelength. Now I wonder how did the H2S radar perform while ground mapping on bad weather...

Yeah totally did actually, this was all discussed back on the Birds of Steel forum. How the whinny fighter guys who only wanted guns would hate the jet era because of missiles and they'd probably whine and have them nerfed. Totally foresaw it.
I made my account in January of 2013 and my laptop could barely run it and I forgot about it. Reinstalled in 2020 after covid layoffs and was amazed at how far its come. 2100 hours later and still playing lol

@@Smarcue2025 us aviation is stuck with old equipment on everything. they generally don't get access to the more modern equipment , or in the best case scenario carry inaccurately weak versions of them .
The reason the bomber lines are so barren is because by like 7.0, heavy bombers would be borderline unusable. Gaijin would need to completely overhaul air battles to even make them playable.

@y5fireflyschannel384 I believe about a month or two ago, a Russian SU-34 was shot at by 3 Ukrainian Patriot missiles near the Mariuopol/Zaporizhia front. The Flanker was able to actually out maneuver all 3 missiles with little damage and made it back to Russian lines. I'm pretty sure the audio of the whole ordeal is on UA-cam.
@@y5fireflyschannel384 SU-34 flying near mariupol to drop presumably glide bombs or similar on the frontline further down range has 3 patriot missiles fired at it. the pilots get commands from a nearby a-50 awacs on evasion maneuvers etc and so the pilot basically fights for his and his co pilots life for quite a long time until the missiles explode nearby but not close enough to take them down. If i remember correctly the shrapnel damaged the comms in the su-34

Dunno if you guys remeber me, but you featured me in the Shooting Range episode with the MiG-15bis ISH (the Strange CAS) My question was really a suggestion to obtain access to stealth aircraft (I hope you'll notice that I specified the F-117) I just want to say, as a player and member of your community, I feel super proud to have been listened to. When I saw the trailer, I couldn't believe my eyes. I want to express a massive thank you to everybody involved with this update, keep being awesome and listening to your players, because I know the absolute joy I feel as I am typing this is something I wish to feel again :)
Lemme make it clear as it has always been same update schedule since 2020 i think- A big 1 in march, june. A medium 1 in Aug and A small 1 in Nov(Except only in2020 when the new power update came) and finally another big 1 in dec
what people need to remember about the f-117 is that it has very very good ir baffles at the back, that's why the exhausts are so flat. So whilst you'll be able to hit it with IR missiles, it should be quite a lot harder than normal
I should be a squadron vehicle, so there might be a niche for it. As I'm grabbing it day one, and depending on br, I might stick it with the YAH-64, KVT, and LOSAT.
Many people in the community said that F-117 is gonna be unbalanced due to its stealth. but when you think about it, this thing can only carry bombs, no missile , no guns, subsonic speed too. Any fighters with IR missiles can kill it when they visually detect them. Also they are not completely stealth from ground radars if the bomb bays are open.

Your "Some APC (with 20mm cannon)" is the German Sp.Pz.Wg. Luchs. (not WW2 one, the Modern one). And the TD with the 3 guns, is Russian the KW-7 U-13 (iirc).
@commandershortsight yeah, NATO doesn't have any good SPAA left, only actual air defense systems, exept IRIS-T SLM that can be mounted on the boxer, which has like 30km range (nvm that needs a separate command vehicle, which is also a boxer, and a radar truck). they probably could integrate air defense systems somehow, at a higher SP ofcourse

The Su-34 actually happened some weeks ago. A su-34 was targeted by a patriot and a pilot manages to deflect it. The radio recordings are in youtube "Su-34 Narrowly Survives Encounter with Patriot Missile | Real Life Audio" by Command T
pretty much just fill the game with vehicles to play on the same 3 boring gamemodes and same 5 or so maps currently in rotation where both the maps and gamemodes dont fit 80% of the vehicles ingame lol
But this would make game more interesting and enjoyable which contradicts gayjin's idea of warthunder. So no, they re not going to make any new gamemodes. Or if they will i'll be even worse 😅
I can't wait to fly into battle with the new super hind. At least when I get shot once and lose my weapon control, I can stare at the enemy menacingly.

Ngl idk wtf Gaijin is doing with the past few updates, they’ve pretty much just made the game balance worse. There are some highly needed stuff that they just aren’t adding: SPAA for every country except Russia (I just know they aren’t adding Patriot as a playable vehicle); MBTs for every country except Russia, Germany, and Sweden; fixing all ARH missiles because none of them are accurate; new top tier jets for most minor nations plus Germany; etc.
@@philippsang4062 GR4 can also carry ASRAAM but it will only get 9m. Id play the ASSTA1 If it would get cluster bombs but German air has to be unplayable
This is gonna be an epic ass update. More F-15s with more weapons, new SAMs and a flanker possibly, and most important of all, the first “stealth” aircraft, an F-117A. It should be at 12.3
@@Delta5x7Stealth aircraft are designed to reduce the heat signature from their exhaust, at least when not using the afterburner which the Nighthawk doesn't have anyway. Point being that even IR missiles should have a harder time tracking the F-117 than they would other planes.

I don't see how a stock F-117 will defer much from a spaded F-117. Its a bomber with very limited capabilities that relies on low observability to survive. The only way to struggle as result of stock grind is Gaijin does what only Gaijin does and makes the RAM coating a modification you have to research.

The Mig 31 would have looked better in terms of novelty. The Su 30 is very similar to the Su 27 and I don't think the players will like it.

@y5fireflyschannel384 I believe about a month or two ago, a Russian SU-34 was shot at by 3 Ukrainian Patriot missiles near the Mariuopol/Zaporizhia front. The Flanker was able to actually out maneuver all 3 missiles with little damage and made it back to Russian lines. I'm pretty sure the audio of the whole ordeal is on UA-cam.
@@y5fireflyschannel384 SU-34 flying near mariupol to drop presumably glide bombs or similar on the frontline further down range has 3 patriot missiles fired at it. the pilots get commands from a nearby a-50 awacs on evasion maneuvers etc and so the pilot basically fights for his and his co pilots life for quite a long time until the missiles explode nearby but not close enough to take them down. If i remember correctly the shrapnel damaged the comms in the su-34

what people need to remember about the f-117 is that it has very very good ir baffles at the back, that's why the exhausts are so flat. So whilst you'll be able to hit it with IR missiles, it should be quite a lot harder than normal

I should be a squadron vehicle, so there might be a niche for it. As I'm grabbing it day one, and depending on br, I might stick it with the YAH-64, KVT, and LOSAT.
I don’t think it’s DOA but it’s uses will be limited to GRB so it can take advantage of it’s stealth.
Will probably be super nerfed in some way.

Many people in the community said that F-117 is gonna be unbalanced due to its stealth. but when you think about it, this thing can only carry bombs, no missile , no guns, subsonic speed too. Any fighters with IR missiles can kill it when they visually detect them. Also they are not completely stealth from ground radars if the bomb bays are open.
I believe they could theoretically carry AIM 9s with some modification, but I don't think it was ever actually done

@commandershortsight yeah, NATO doesn't have any good SPAA left, only actual air defense systems, exept IRIS-T SLM that can be mounted on the boxer, which has like 30km range (nvm that needs a separate command vehicle, which is also a boxer, and a radar truck). they probably could integrate air defense systems somehow, at a higher SP ofcourse
PATRIOT requires a separate radar, fire control, and power plant to run it all. It'll be an ai unit in air battles. Probably an upgrade to airfield aa

The Su-34 actually happened some weeks ago. A su-34 was targeted by a patriot and a pilot manages to deflect it. The radio recordings are in youtube "Su-34 Narrowly Survives Encounter with Patriot Missile | Real Life Audio" by Command T

Gaijin seriously needs to add more ground game modes, cool keep adding 50 new vehicles per update but it is not fun in a outdated mode
pretty much just fill the game with vehicles to play on the same 3 boring gamemodes and same 5 or so maps currently in rotation where both the maps and gamemodes dont fit 80% of the vehicles ingame lol
But this would make game more interesting and enjoyable which contradicts gayjin's idea of warthunder. So no, they re not going to make any new gamemodes. Or if they will i'll be even worse 😅

Ngl idk wtf Gaijin is doing with the past few updates, they’ve pretty much just made the game balance worse. There are some highly needed stuff that they just aren’t adding: SPAA for every country except Russia (I just know they aren’t adding Patriot as a playable vehicle); MBTs for every country except Russia, Germany, and Sweden; fixing all ARH missiles because none of them are accurate; new top tier jets for most minor nations plus Germany; etc.

@@Delta5x7Stealth aircraft are designed to reduce the heat signature from their exhaust, at least when not using the afterburner which the Nighthawk doesn't have anyway. Point being that even IR missiles should have a harder time tracking the F-117 than they would other planes.

I don't see how a stock F-117 will defer much from a spaded F-117. Its a bomber with very limited capabilities that relies on low observability to survive. The only way to struggle as result of stock grind is Gaijin does what only Gaijin does and makes the RAM coating a modification you have to research.
