As a Dodgers Fan. I’m so happy he went to an iconic franchise like the Cubs. I love Wrigley Field and Cubs fans deserve a superstar. Looking forward to this match up.
Tucker last season had a .353 OBP and .585 SLG. Last season, he played in only 78 games, but playing full seasons in the previous two year, he was a 100+ RBI-man. Sign him to a multi-year contract now! One year is not enough.
Cubs now need a closer and a few more bullpen arms and they will playing very meaningful games in October. The biggest weakness was bullpen 31 blown saves compared to good teams around 15
If you come to think about it... Jed last year traded Morel for Paredes as a 2025 improvement move.. and now he Flipped Paredes and prospects for Tucker... sounds like a Win project for Jed! It like flipping a honda civic for a Cadillac Escalade
tucker is on the last year of his deal and is gonna demand a mega contract after the season. If the cubs can extend tucker then sure but if he walks like soto just did then it was a mistake. Paredes is a good young player whos cheap and has 3 years of control, wesneski is a solid backend of the rotation arm under control for the next 5 years and cam smith is a top 3B prospect who just raked in the minors. Thats a lot for someone who could just leave after the season but we will see
@baylinrios3577 Paredes and Wrigley field don't match. He has trouble getting the ball out and all his pull at bats are either foul or pop ups to the warning track. He's a much better fit in Houston. Wesneski is shaky and throws batting practice more than often. He's unreliable. Cam smith is just a prospect with a lot of media hype. There is absolutely no guarante that he will continue to be a stud. After his 6 homeruns in high A he totally cooled off and you didn't hear anything else worthy the rest of the 20 games he played. Too much speculation for a player that only has 32 proffesi9nal games. Remember Brennen Davis? What happened to him and where does he ranks now.. Prospects are Suspects until they actually do something to talk about.
As an Astros fan I hate hate hate losing him, he was my favorite astro the last few seasons but I understand that we weren’t gonna keep him and I’d rather at least get something
Tucker reminds of of shawn green but with better eye at the plate, glove, arm, defense and more speed. One kf the nest pure hitters in the game, elite for sure
Puts the Cubs clearly at the top of the NL Central and in baseball, just get in the playoffs. Anything can happen. Just look at the Tigers last year and D-Backs before that. Anyone in the playoffs in baseball is a contender
@@cubsflan not to mention the Cubs were nine wins under expectated if he’s good enough just to get our expected wins we’re a playoff team. I’m not saying the Cubs are suddenly favorites to make a run or anything, but this is back to back years. We had winning records, but missed the playoffs despite having enough wins, expected to make the playoffs this is the kind of move that can get you in a playoff race
It would be a Sith move if in 2026, Tucker signed back with the Astros while in the process, Houston spent a year developing the players they got back. Like it was all a rouse to flub 2025 so 2026 and beyond they were even more competitive.
Does this mean Belli and Suzuki are getting moved? Belli is making too much money, and Suzuki saying he wants to be an everyday outfileder on a team with Tucker/Happ/PCA isn't realistic
Tucker could easily get $400m if he’s healthy next offseason. Cubs need to do more. It’s reminiscent of giving out a record deal for a manager then twiddling their thumbs until now. They need to add a couple more good players to be serious
I really like this for both sides. Obviously sucks for Houston to lose him but he was not signing back there with their restrictions on contract years that they'll dish out. Paredes WILL RAKE in H-Town too
I mean the Cubs didn’t make the playoffs I get that, but they had a winning record and they were like nine wins under expected, according to advanced analytics if this guy plays good enough just to get our wins expected then that’s a playoff team. This is also back to back years. The Cubs had winning records, but missed the playoffs despite having enough expected wins to make the playoffs. I’m not saying suddenly we’re gonna be some pennant chasing team but I would hundred percent expect this move to put us in contention to win our division and make the playoffs
More in contention!? They went 83-79 without him. Now you add Tucker to that? That's 90 wins or better if he stays healthy. Expect 8+ WAR from him. PLUS they have the best farm system in the game, and one or more of those guys could be making a huge splash in the Bigs this year (Matt Shaw could be the guy at 3rd as soon as this year). Imagine PCA takes a huge step forward this year. Look out. PLUS they could add more free agents (please Jed get Burnes). PLUS they could make another big trade (Belli or Seiya). No excuse for this team to not make the playoffs this year. Miss me with the "Cubs aren't in contention" nonsense!
How many teams did Frazier play on that were contenders? And how many teams did he play on that weren't contenders because he was in the lineup? If you wanna look it up go ahead. Todd won't. Those are cold shower stats.
Houston likely screwed themselves over by spiting the yankees . How can i be pissed at that? I would never trade a roy pitcher for a one year rental anyway
Great move by the Cubs. And I'm not a Cubs fan, just making an observation. On the other hand, it looks to me like the Astros are giving up. Their management must think their window of dominance is closing and it's time to retool.
This trade will make little to no sense even if the Cubs make the playoffs with Kyle Tucker. The only way this trade will make any sense is if the Cubs keep him and the chances of that are 0%
The Cubs just fleeced the Astros with this deal. Only gave up Paredes, Wesneski and their first round pick. Didnt have to have give up Suzuki (of course... only if they sign him to an extension)
How can you be a 5 tool player with below average speed? That term gets thrown around way too much. Speed, hit for power, hit for contact, great fielding and finally and strong arm.
Well, looks like Crane is tightening the purse strings again, while trying to stay under the luxury tax penalty, the Astros keep developing stars (Springer, Correa, Cole, Tucker, Bregman...) and then allowing them to walk at the peak of their careers, while opening up the check book at the right time would have merely helped to maintain what was once considered a potential "Astros Dynasty"... Tucker is a 5 tool player (very rare in MLB) that will get paid by some team that doesn't shy away from spending, if not the Cubs in 2026.... the dreaded Yankees?.... one of the Astros most hated nemesis! Time to rebuild around an aging Altuve and a perennial all star in Alvarez!
Outstanding News. Can’t Believe My Cubs Got Him
A rental player 😂😂😂😂😂
Of course, never said he was not.
Only for a year, but regardless, good player.
triggered skankees fan 😂😂
@@gabrielsvision7218a great player is a great player, doesn’t matter if they’re a rental or not

Tokyo Dome here we come! Dodgers vs. Cubs 3/18/25
You are really glad that he is not an Astro.
Tucker last season had a .353 OBP and .585 SLG. Last season, he played in only 78 games, but playing full seasons in the previous two year, he was a 100+ RBI-man. Sign him to a multi-year contract now! One year is not enough.

Yankees wanted Tucker to share a suite with Fat Joe
I expect he will do well with the Cubs. That being said I think people forget how protected Tucker was in that Astro lineup.
Were in contention now Todd! LFG CUBS! Tucker is so good man!!
King Tuck is the bomb. As a Yankees fan in Houston, I am bummed out we didn’t get him.
You need to go live in New York…
Houston Astros will dog walk the Yankees this up coming year ….
You gotta hope there's more to come, as a Cubs fan it feels closer to spring training now!
Cubs really needed this

Great news for the Cubs
As an Astros fan I hate hate hate losing him, he was my favorite astro the last few seasons but I understand that we weren’t gonna keep him and I’d rather at least get something
Horrific move for Houston, I hope I'm wrong but idk if they can replace Tucker
People are not mentioning the fact that he does not play well in the playoffs.
So what happens to Suzuki now that they have the RF Tucker playing in Suzuki spot.
For a rental 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Tucker reminds of of shawn green but with better eye at the plate, glove, arm, defense and more speed. One kf the nest pure hitters in the game, elite for sure
Great move Cubs and not having to give up Shaw or Horton is great.
“He can play the OF too”
Soto actually has better defensive numbers over the last couple of years… lol
2:29 lmao this is how teams get into contention by acquiring a star player. This is such a lazy thought

Feels like they have a deal lined up for belli to nyy. With this tucker deal done id think that's the next domino that falls
Tucker could easily get $400m if he’s healthy next offseason.

This confirms Bergman to cubs

He’ll be a Yankee in 26
lol 😂😂
No fucking chance. 😂
Houston likely screwed themselves over by spiting the yankees . How can i be pissed at that? I would never trade a roy pitcher for a one year rental anyway
LET'S GOOOOOO YANKEES
Now gotta sign him. Gave up a lot for 1 year if they don’t.
Hell yeah!! Good move Jed!
He will be mvp next year

I totally agree living in Houston a lot of folks are mad lol but now time to sell some auto cards get some money
Astros fans should be livid . Their gm turned down a much better offer from the yankees
Get rid of Dana Brown, if anyone would take him.
I’m so sad to see Tucker leave we got a lot but he is not a guy you can just replace
Dude on left wearing the hat look hella funny wearing a hat lmao
He always wear a hat rookie bihh
@ what’s a bihh you mean bish dumdass lmao I’m only 7 years old
This trade will make little to no sense even if the Cubs make the playoffs with Kyle Tucker. The only way this trade will make any sense is if the Cubs keep him and the chances of that are 0%
Yankee Doodle
Bruh lol cubs are so confusing. Why even bother when you’re not trying to be competitive/ not going to fork over the money to keep the guy.
Huge deal
Astros won this trade if the cubs fail to resign him
The Cubs just fleeced the Astros with this deal. Only gave up Paredes, Wesneski and their first round pick. Didnt have to have give up Suzuki (of course... only if they sign him to an extension)
For a rental 😂😂😂😂😂
Hasn’t it already been reported he isn’t signing an extension. After Soto, why would he?
Not a fan of the Cubs or astros but… AWESOME!
Hopefully this is to trade him to the Yankees. Maybe Houston wouldn't deal with the yankees
You what. Are you stupid 😂
Kyle tucker is going to make $350m+
Cubs keeping Belli now
There will be garbage he’s a rental player😂😂😂😂😂
probably going to the yankees.
def trading him
Bobby Witt Jr for Anthony Volpe, Peraza, Will Warren and Carlos Rodon.
😂😂😂
How can you be a 5 tool player with below average speed? That term gets thrown around way too much. Speed, hit for power, hit for contact, great fielding and finally and strong arm.
Astros win this trade we gave up to much for tucker
Nah , the astros are the losers , yankees offer was much better
