This song was playing in my truck 3am heading 40miles to pick up the only good shit around. Guy in the passenger seat is trying to shoot up this nasty tar and couldn't find the vain. 75mph down the interstate he asked me to do it. Hate needles and had told myself I will never touch them. i saw these guys at Lollaplooza in the early 90's. We took some shrooms early in the day when Soundgarten & Ice Cube were playing. it started to get dark & Ministry came on & I was still feeling it. The singers mic stand was made out of bones & i thought he was throwing bones into the crowd. i started coming down at the end of their show, then the Red Hot Chili Peppers came on next all wearing hard hats with flames coming out, holy crap great festival. Pearl Jam was the first band we caught that day.
Lollapalooza 92 was off the hook come Temple the Dog played the concession stand, At the Chicago show the Mosh h pit and mud fight got so bad that Ministry stopped their show, I was tripping on acid come on I was actually pretty scared, then when the Peppers came out with the helmet flames, we were just like "OK whatever" we spent it all on ministry
Now we are cooking!! The mighty Ministry. What a band. Psalm 69 is such a fine album. Burning Inside Stigmata So What! Jesus Built My Hotrod Brick Windows NWO Scarecrow Breathe Animosity Thieves So many classics
@@ublej it's actually, "in case you didn't feel like showing up (live)". That would be the title of album. And yes, I know the the title of the track is "thieves". And the home video version is the complete show. And I still have my copy on VHS. I have seen ministry multiple times in the '90's. If you have never seen "in case you didn't feel like showing up (live)" the home video you are missing the greatest dooling drummers(digital vs acoustic) introduction to ever exist.
@@ublej one of the greatest live performances ever! William Burroughs' house is about a mile from where I live. A friend of a friend was his personal assistant. Footage from "just one fix" was shot in town and around Lawrence, ks. A couple of crazy girls I was friends with in high school went to his house and knocked on the door and asked Burroughs if they could use the bathroom! Haha! He didn't let them in but he came out on the porch and talked with them for a little while 😂
Definitely recommend "In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up," a live video from their '89-'90 tour. Seeing how this music was done live at that time is insane
Lollapalooza 92 Chicago the mosh pit and ensuing mud fight got so violent they stopped the show and scolded us...then the Chilli Peppers came on with, 5ft flames coming out of their helmets and we were like, "oh thats nice"
Right!?! Saw them at '92 Lollapalooza in New Orleans and they KILLED IT. Then Chili Peppers came out and it was like what is this pop rock? hahahaha Ministry should have closed the show.
Nice! A fave... And one of the few times a band's early work ISN'T their best work... For me, "Land of.." to "Filth Pig" are highlights, but I've been sleeping on newer stuff... Cheers for this!
So cool...ur reaction style is awesome...you let the song play out with sum comments during the song rather than stop it to speak...that’s excellent...please do more Ministry songs...ur enthusiasm rules!!!
cool. Stigmata and Nursing Home are a couple other good'ns from them. maybe you should check out some Pigface, too. Nutopia is an accessible Pigface song.
Have the lyrics on hand when you listen...you’ll enjoy it more...Vin & Sori do their reactions that way for all their songs cuz they mostly do extreme metal, black metal and industrial metal and some goth metal reactions...you can also critique the lyrics that way as well...thnx for this reaction video, Ministry deserve the accolades...their awesome!!!
If you want more ministry check out Thieves, Burning Inside and N.W.O.; They also put out an album when Trump got elected...the video for "twilight zone" is awesome basically it just chronicles how Al felt when Trumps victory was announced and official. Good shit!
The vocals are due to a vox, the heart of Industrial music. There are 5 main aspects: repetitive riffs, drum loops, sound samples, mechanical noises and, of course, the vox.
my introduction to ministry was watching beavis and butt-heads (shirt in the background) reaction to the official video . I was hooked (no pun) on the band after that
Teez McGee Now, go listen to Effigy from the album With Sympathy by ministry. 80s vs 90s ministry are two different animals. I like both, but kinda dig the 80s more
Something different from the hip hop.
This song kept me from being a meth junkie back in the 90's
💯💯💯💯🙌 I love to hear that family! Hell yea 🔥
I'd love to hear that story

May be THE GREATEST Ministry song Evererreeeeer
William S Burrows, the author, was a huge Ministry fan and he is the one saying never trust a junkie at the beginning..
It's actually Chloe Webb from the movie Sid and Nancy.
Ministry hits different than other bands
I love this album.
Damn I didn't think I'd ever see this on a reaction, sweet
One of best bands to live.try nwo or so what.good reaction.
Ministry-- THIEVES AND LIARS!!!
A mix of industrial hardcore with a splash of hip-hop!
It's just "Thieves" - Check out the version on "Live In Case you Didn't Feel Like Showing Up"

Ministry was some heavy shit back in the 80s! The standard bearer of industrial rock. Nice!

Check out Thieves for sure, which was off their previous album. Stigmata and Land of Rape and Honey are also great tracks.
