I've made a list of 10 games I think every gamer needs to try out at least once in their life. Nice eclectic list, love seeing different genres represented. That said gotta say my list would look incredibly different, but not that I disagree with these recommendations. I'd have included some third person shooter / action games personally (Devil May Cry 3 comes to mind) & for JRPG it'd be a tie between Chrono Trigger & Mario RPG.
Great list though & would love to see lists for specific platforms or not ven whole genres.
Those are some great games as well! If I was to put in a character action game it would be Metal Gear Rising but I talk about that game enough already haha. Thanks for sharing!

Dark Souls, Hollow Knight, Tetris Effect, Stardew Valley. A few that I try to make everyone play if they haven't already. :)
Good choices. Tetris is an interesting one since there are sooo many versions of it.
Awesome video. You gave me food for thought on some of those. I tried Divinity with a friend and we dropped it. Maybe its not good a story heavy game while multiplayer?
Also my own list, and some of which I hope you try if you havent (In no particular order):
- Chronotrigger
- Final fantasy 6
- Undertale (Play it knowing as little about it. Very spoilable)
- Smash brothers Switch
- Mario odyssey (A true tribute to Mario fans)
- Mario RPG Legend of the 7 stars
- Elden Ring
- Doom Eternal
- Halo Combat Evolved
- Starcraft 2 (Great story, even better if you played SC1, great multiplayer)
I probably missed some. But these are for sure damn good games.
Divinity definitely starts slow and it can be hard to get into yeah. Very good list, a number of these here are 10/10s for me as well. And yeah Chrono Trigger is easily the best 16 bit game imo.
MY top10 list of games is not exactly what I would say people need to play before they die, but it is my personal list of games that I am very grateful I played before my end.

Racing: NFS Underground 2
Open World: Zelda BotW/TotK / Days Gone / Watch Dogs 2
FPS: Battlefield 4 / Perfect Dark 64
Sports: Anything with Summer sports
Strategy (Adventure): Mario + Rabbids
Story-driven / Visual Novel: Zero Escape VLR
Horror / Action Horror: Resident Evil 1 Remake
Adventure Hack 'n' Slash: Bayonetta 2
Epic RPG: Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and X
Action/Adventure RPG: Mass Effect Trilogy / Deus Ex Human Revolution
Simulation: Sim City 3000

Yes, Trauma Center was my obsession few years back. It saddens me that as Europeans, we can't play TC: New Blood in a legal way!

Great list. Big respect from me on putting Yakuza LAD on there. And interesting to see Xenoblade 2, I love that game as well and I'm glad to see another person who isn't tearing it down.
@realtayo42 yeah maybe it's cuz xenoblade 2 was my introduction to the series but even then after playing the whole trilogy plus some dlc, 2 holds a big place in my heart specially cuz I played it during the pandemic
@natto7257 I feel that. The first game you play in a series is often the most memorable. I played persona 4 golden the first time in 2020 and it absolutely saved my mental health at the time. It's always gonna be my favorite.

Definitely agree with the inclusion of D:OS2. However, Baldur's Gate 3 _just might_ top it. Same studio, very similar game design, but overall just a tad bit deeper I think. It took me a long time to finally play D:OS2 because I wasn't super into the art style, but it grew on me, and ultimately I fell in love with it. BG3 is a bit more mature, and the aesthetics didn't have to grow on me.
BG3 is going absolutely insane right now, glad to see how popular it's become. People are finally waking up and supporting real quality.
Well, I’ve only played a couple of these but for the ones I have I can agree that they’re quite near if not at the top of their genres in my eyes. Especially Xenoblade DE, it’s got quality of life upgrades and a visual overhaul over the original, and it’s the only story-driven game I’ve played where a successive play through is absolutely just as gripping as the first. The whole Xenoblade series is fantastic, but if I were to recommend one it would definitely be that.
I knew you'd agree with that one haha. I just finished Xenoblade 3 and Future redeemed after almost 200 hours though, what a masterpiece!

Great content man! I will say for total war it has to be total war warhammer 3. Yes, some other mechanics people might like from the older games or they dont like fantasy or some other gripe against the game itself... But you cannot deny the sheer amount of content that immortal empires gives. Its the culmination of every total war game into one cohesive and massive experience. Truly the best way total war should be played IMO.
Thank you! I've never really gotten into the warhammer total war trilogy, but I do know people really love them. I'm more of a historical guy (I like medieval 2 and shogun 2 the most), but of the modern games I like Three Kingdoms. I'll probably have to check out Warhammer 3 at some point!
@@realtayo42 Three Kingdoms is nice. For historical yeah Rome 2 and medieval is good. But WH3 just has so much content. It approaches crusader kings levels of balancing influence and tactics in the big world with many races.
