Before he went to Russia awhile back he asked the people there what their favVery unique. song was, and he was surprised that they said 1985! Now he does it in concert, I love it. Also Amber, if you ever see him in concert, during Live and Let Die he has some pretty exciting fireworks! He's going to S America and Europe next, I hope he tours the U.S. next year. BTW, you'd love Paul's Little Lamb Dragonfly song.

My girlfriend and I were in college in "1975". We would be together in her apartment studying, doing our homework - listening to our Band On The Run "LP" on her stereo record player. Whenever "1985" came around we'd both jump up and dance! Then sit down again and resume studying as soon as the song was over.....

I like the gritty sound of Paul McCartney. Intentionally giving a little more gruffness to his voice in this one. He has an range between 4-5 octaves. Paul also has the record for highest scream. Paul basically has two separate voices, the soft is the typical McCartney voice and his "Rocker" voice.

Interesting fact: Paul McCartney was the first artist to reach No.1 in the UK as part of a group, "The Beatles", as a trio, "Wings", as a duo with Stevie Wonder and finally as a solo artist in January '84 with "Pipes Of Peace" ; which also happens to have a great video.

fun fact, when he was forming wings he had the members over for dinner. after they had finished and were discussing business McCartney suddenly stopped and said "oh ,i just remembered. i have to submit a song for this new movie by tomorrow " he excused him self , went to his study and started banging out notes on his piano. 5 min later he returned saying "ok ,where were we?" he wrote live and let die in 5min!!

Great point Jay. To answer your question: No other band has ever broken up and all members had a prominent solo career. The Beatles were unique in so many ways. In a time when bands were doing covers and pop songs, they wrote their own. They set forth genres for other bands to follow. The Beatles opened the door for other bands to “do their own thing”. They were trendsetters and pioneers.

Paul in his prime was so creative. Keep in mind too, and it will blow it, that he played most of the instruments on the Band on the Run album. His wife Linda and Denny Laine helped out but Paul pretty much created and produced the LP on his own. Simply amazing. Jet, Helen Wheels and Let Me Roll It are other bangers from Band on the Run.

Band On the Run is a great album. This track is one of my favorites on it, as well as Jet and the sweet, slow, doowoppyish Let Me Roll It. I was 15 in '75 when this was released. Me & friends sitting around in our bedrooms playing the album and Brigitte making crank phone calls with her "Princess" phone. SMH
The thing about McCartney is that he's a phenomenon of sincerity, talent, humility, and a desire to give fans their money's worth. He's a genuine people person, will talk with the common man/woman who approaches. A really kind soul who loves and cares for his family and friends (look at his relationship with Julian Lennon)
He is a perfectionist where his work is concerned. When he wasn't satisfied with the way he thought someone else might play his music...he did it himself! From playing all kinds of instruments to self-producing his albums. I'm suspicious of anyone who doesn't like him😊
    Be blessed❤

Hi Jay and Amber! It's Andrew Erroch fae Paisley in Scotland here. Thanks again for this reaction from one of my all time favourite albums. This is a classic album from 1973 and every track is great. If I had to pick another 2 tracks from the same album, you must also react to 'Jet' and 'Let Me Roll It'.
Talking about bands with individual members who've had great success, I know there is normally one or two stand out artists who have the most success, but the only other band I can think of with each individual member having great success, is One Direction. Harry, Zayn, Niall, Liam and Louis have all had solo success. Not equal to The Beatles, of course, but nobody is. Perhaps also Oasis. The 2 main members of that band have had great solo success. In fact, I saw Liam Gallagher at The Hydro in Glasgow last night and the place was loud and rocking, as it always is for those troublesome brothers, Noel and Liam. Æx 🙏

Wings, terribly underrated. My first concert, Wings Over America, May 15, 1976 Capital Centre Landover Maryland, a 12th birthday gift from my beautiful parents.

A nice number from McCartney's finest solo album. Now next, y'all need to check out Paul's finest single, Junior's Farm. I think it was recorded during the Band On The Run sessions. It's great.

Macca played the drums on the entire album, 1985, which is a monster track. The Beatles are the only group and their individual members to have been inducted into the R&R HOF.

And the beauty of Linda's vocals just adds a perfect touch and change of pace to the song. Im only guessing that Paul played both the piano which only covers up his tremendous bass work on the song. Great reaction Yall.

May 1967 .THE BEATLES were chosen to represent BBC on the first live satélite TV world wide transmission. John Lennon composed in 3 days the song and lyrics of "ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE ". The Beatles performed the song on the 22nd of May
to a audience estimated of 400million TVs across the globe. Australia and New Zealand,Japan included. So..."please please me" and react to "All you need is love "... the atmospheric is similar to "Hey Jude ".lots of people singing along. You will love it. Totally Unexpected song 😊 I hope you read this

In the photo of , Band on the Run, the man on top in the back row is actor and Oscar winner, James Colburn. The band was at an English movie studio for the photo. Colburn was making a movie on a set at the same studio compound.. Paul found out and went over and asked him if he would like to be in their photo.

Jay & Amber, missed this when posted. Another song from the album Band on the Run - "Picasso's Last Words (Drink to Me)" ... . Sir Paul McCartney was at an event with Dustin Hoffman, who asked "Can you write a song about anything?" Sir Paul replied "Well, I don't know, Maybe.” Dustin retrieved a newspaper, showing a story about the death of Pablo Picasso, and his last words were "Drink to me, drink to my health, you know I can't drink any more!" Sir Paul had his guitar, and started composing on the spot. Hoffman was "flabbergasted" ... .

That wonderful intro promises great things to come with this track, and it certainly doesn't disappoint. This closing song ends one of the best albums from the 70's that's for sure!
