That looks too good to be called a garbage plate. My homemade soup is a real garbage soup. All the leftover veggies, broth & potato soup from the fridge & you got Evansville's Garbage Soup! Yup, same here. When I was young we'd goto Tahou's around 2am and it would be crowded with bar dwellers, and the guys at the counter were like the soup nazi...you had to get your order straight before you stepped up to the counter or they'd skip you and move on to the next person...

I like the serious moments of these segments, it shows the real human side of Chef Jim. The music changes, and then there's a close-up ... That's when I really start to laugh... Also the sound effects are the best. Never stop doing the whip sound... Haha
Chef Jim is always generous with sharing his knowledge. I see now my past mistakes with hash brown preparation - they are hash "browns" and not hash "whites". I did not realize that vitamins came in different colours. I need to stock up on some red vitamins, I sure hope my pharmacy has some in stock. I do not have a specialized sausage cooker, but now I feel i need one. I will begin my google hunt immediately. Sous Chef Katie needs more air time! I bet she is good at opening sauce jars and filling up sausage cookers. She might not yet be at the proper level for salt and pepper additions but they have to start somewhere! Some day she too may open her own kitchen restaurant "Chez Koo-Koo la Rue"
I like the combo plate (cheeseburger and a hot) . Mac salad and home fries with everything (mustard, onions and meat sauce). Great job Jim and I love the sausage cooker

Hi Mr. Jim. Thanks for ur channel. My husband is Northern ( my best gal friend is from up in Indiana ) and I'm normal...I mean Southern. LOL once we were visiting Pennsyl-Tucky where he's from and we stopped at a Café near our motel from heck ( no A/C in the hottest Indian Summer on Record, geez I thought Florida was hot! ). God must have loved me because the place had Grits! Praise da Lord. My husband had hash browns and my Mother in law got her fried corn Mush! We were all happy. They had garbage plate omelettes too! So now whenever I've empty the fridge of odds n ends w/discarded potato skins I tell Husband it's a "northern garbage plate!"
