  • Johanna Oechtering, MD, University Hospital and University of Basel, Basel, Switzerland, comments on the role of complement activation in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS). She mentions that intrathecal IgM synthesis is associated with higher disease activity and severity and hypothesizes that this could be due to complement activation. This interview took place at the 40th Congress of the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS 2024) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
