Crew skills and your own skills aren’t the same for example Sam coe piloting level 4 only increases you max speed, if you too get the lvl 4 skill they’ll stack up but it won’t stack between crew members so if you’ve got Sam coe and another crew member giving you the piloting skill, only the highest of the two will be effective, they also don’t give exactly the same perks as your own skills
Whoa! Thanks for this. Apologies for the confusion on my part. I did know that crew member skills did not stack with each other but definitely should’ve more clearly called that out. As for the different effects, that’s my bad. Appreciate you for calling this out!

You should be able to find a spreadsheet online about the crew members perks, Sarah for example only reduces fuel consumption with astrodynamics where it gives you something else too on your own astrodynamics skills, forgot what it is tho I’m on a new playthrough and haven’t looked at the science tree again yet
It’s gotten to the point that I just block pages that deal in recreational hate from my algorithm completely 😂 I love this game but finding real information that isn’t “why Bethesda should just close” or “why this is the worst game ever made” is almost impossible
Of course you aren’t the only one who loves this game. Most of us are simply too busy actually playing the game to go “hate” online about it. I just downloaded the new land vehicle and a few new mods….going back in to continue my adventures. I couldn’t care less about what others think about the game.
One thing I like about Starfield is being able to experiment with different approaches to a mission/task. I've managed to get items while avoiding murder and bounties, but it comes through a willingness to explore or grind. Most people may not know that sometimes the game (at least on console) occasionally counts turrets or robots as a murder. If you've wondered where you killed someone despite being careful, that's likely it. Regarding the skill tree, I sometimes combine skills requiring similar methods...like dueling and concealment...that way I'm replenishing them all at once. One last note, building a skill doesn't require jumping into the fray berserker-style. Most of the time I'll pick a low tier, abundant planet and rack up those skills quickly and easily.
Love all of this! I’ve definitely noticed some cool opportunities to progress quests in creative ways. Thanks so much for the comment and happy gaming :)
I like how romancing Sarah and Andreja is so different, polar opposites. Andreja is all about looting and punishing the bad guys, Sarah you better not loot and you better find a way to complete objective without murder (with some exceptions)
Tip #11: You can equip Shielded Cargo Bays onto your ship (or shielded containers inside) to help with passing orbit scans. Just make sure to deposit the "goods" into the ship storage before you grav jump to an occupied space. After a successfully passed scan just go sell the contraband to the Trade Authority. Bonus suggestion: Turn off floating markers. You can track where you need to go via the scanner (shows a path) and a marker via the compass on the bottom left of the screen.
I played Starfield when it first came out but got bored and quit for a year. I recently started playing it again and I’m actually quite enjoying it. Here are a few tips I’ve learned. Inventory Tip: If you purchase the ground vehicle (from a ship technician), you can fast travel while inside it no matter how much you’re carrying. So bring it with you as you’re exploring and you’ll always be able to fast travel back to your ship. Additional tip about the vehicle is that it boosts your scanner a lot, so you can scan plants and such as you’re driving around, and you can mine ore with its laser gun. Inventory Tip #2: In the center of the Lodge’s basement in New Atlantis is a small box with unlimited storage space. It’s also surrounded by all the crafting stations. So if your ship cargo is filling up and you want to dump all those heavy resources, grab them all from your cargo and fast travel to the Lodge (you can fast travel from inside your ship even while over-encumbered) and dump them all in that box. If you ever want to research or craft, grab everything from the it and get to work. Then dump it all back in there when you’re done.
I also highly recommend choosing Wanted as one of your traits when making a new character, as that will increase the number of random encounters you’ll come across in your travels since bounty hunters will be coming after you, which means more potential loot, xp and fun.
If you want to make the game more immersive, another tip is that you don't HAVE to use the map screen all the time. If you're heading somewhere for a mission, just point your ship towards the marker and use the jump option. If you're at a planet, open the scan mode and major landing spots will show. Point your aim reticule at one and use the land option. Also, I'm about 500 hours into the game and I've never seen an asteroid give aluminum. Iron, nickel, and water are really common, other minerals less so, but I've never seen aluminum. Finally, sensor contacts on the map screen are always worth checking out. Sometimes they're ships, (hostile, friendly, or abandoned) and sometimes they're cargo crates.
Thanks for sharing-these are all great! Good call out about aluminum in asteroids. I am 99% sure I came across it while I was recording footage for this vid but will have to go back and double check. Thanks for the comment and the watch :)

At launch, it functioned the same, but instead of all the color and depth, it was a blue plane with map markers. You couldn't see visually what building was at the map marker. One thing the updated map shows is the unmarked locations. Previously, players could be forgiven for not knowing those places existed, but now you can clearly see everything. I think Bethesda intended for people to have more suspension of disbelief, and mindfully explore landing sites despite repeat dungeons. The new map I think is an admission that they didn't hit the mark. If you think about it, it is the most revealing and detailed map they've ever done now.

Okay I have about 600 hours in starfield and I did not know that Amps were this useful. Right now I'm trying to get a 100 percent completion of whole star systems so now that I know Amps are this useful I will stop selling them. Thank you for this. Also sealant is pretty easy to find, most planets with life will have plants or animals that have sealant as a component, so I usually stock up when I land on those. However if you find a trick to finding godly amounts of adhesive and lubricant that would be awesome to know. For some reason my play through isn't generating a lot of those two materials, which I need to upgrade my weapons and space suits.

Even with those freighters doing all their work, I still ended up with my ship getting stuffed with my stored content.

I liked the game in general, but the fact that the enemy bases are ridiculously repetitive, with the same handful of lay-outs, and the same enemies in the same positions, made me eventually stop playing. There is little replay value for me. They should have devised a procedural generation mechanic for planetary bases. I don't understand why they did not do so. It would have completely changed the experience.
This is so accurate, lol. Last night I spent at least 30 minutes reworking my ship cargo just to try and avoid this forever (did not work because I too am a hoarder).

Base building? Until you get to the insanely stupid controls for building. Who tf came up with that? Move your mouse to zoom is just the worst one of many. Still love the game tho. 1300 plus hrs.
Oh yeah! I am on Xbox so I don’t find the controls are too bad. I think I read somewhere that the reco was to use a controller for any outpost building so maybe that could help you if you have a controller. Have you tried that to see if it’s any better?
@beepbooploot nope. So, my choice is to use a controller or deal with their completely insane control mechanics? That's unacceptable. For a game, I had to upgrade my PC to play not to be geared toward PC is just the worst. I mean, my question is why? For the love if God, just do it like everyone else does. You're not reinventing the wheel. FO4 wasn't like this on Xbox or PC. It's almost like the devs never played the game. I'm waiting on a modder to fix it if it's even possible. Without mods, I'd already be done with this game. I have gotten used to it but sometimes it makes me wanna stomp on baby rabbits 🤣🤣🤣. Having to connect my storage to extractor by driving the connection around with WASD is ridiculous.
@beepbooploot I'm just glad consoles are at least getting access to some mods. There will be some really great mods sooner or later that just won't be available on creations because of some choices Bethesda made. Really disappointed in Big Beth.

I think you may be able to refund if you bought in steam and have
Yes, that’s definitely an option if needed :)
The companions are too goody goody.
That’s fair. It definitely would be nice to have an evil/morally grey companion added.
turning off subtitles is a surefire way for me to never know wtf anyone is saying lol
lol, that is fair! Hope some of the other stuff was helpful :)
Ayo how to play this game without nodding off? I find the exploration and stuff kinda bland. For it to be 25 years in the making… it doesn’t feel like it personally.
I would say if you’re falling asleep, it probably ain’t for you which is totally cool, lol. Have you tried any of the side quests? Not sure if it’ll make a difference but I thought some of the faction quests were really great and engaging!
@@beepbooploot yeah probably isn’t which is disappointing to me bc I had way higher hopes for it cause of there statement of the game and how long it took to make it. Just feels very let down compared to the other ip’s. Yeah I’ve tried a few of them so far. Only found a few interesting. Probably gonna try the crimson fleet stuff cause some ppl said it’s story line it’s pretty neat so I think imma give it a bit longer of a try before making a decision
i came into this expecting 16 tips and tricks, not 15 plus a bonus tip
🤔
@@beepbooploot sorry, it's just a bit misleading for those of us unprepared to get bonus stuff
Love this game. Excited for more dlc and one day... vr???
Oh yeah! VR walking around in your ship would be unreal!! :)
@beepbooploot I'd spend the day just exploring Akika city in VR. So much detail everywhere you look.
There’s a mod for that
@@dekmacpherson280 which part are you referring to?
@@beepbooploot most of your tips can be done with creation mods. For people who don’t want to mod your video is invaluable so keep up the good work
Why do I hoard so much crap on this game 😂
It ain't a Bethesda game if you aren't Hoarding with a capital H!!
@@wolfhors3_660 that sounds rough. Totally understand. Hopefully a mod comes in hot and helps address this!
@beepbooploot I'm just glad consoles are at least getting access to some mods. There will be some really great mods sooner or later that just won't be available on creations because of some choices Bethesda made. Really disappointed in Big Beth.
Melee stealth sucks
I don't find it too bad but it's definitely nowhere near Dishonored or other top tier stealth games. I totally appreciate your opinion. Thanks for watching!
when your thumbnail looks dumb a.f.

Best Starfield tip of all time: don't waste your money on this unfun Todd turd.
lol, I definitely missed that tip. Understand if you don’t like the game. Thanks for watching!
Tip 1: Uninstall Starfield
Tip 2: Be done with Bethesda and their lies
Tip 4: Wait for Skyblivion. In the meantime, play any other game
What’s tip #3?
Wish i didn't throw money away on this crappy game
Sorry to hear that :(
You can always go play Fortnite
