    What are Orcs?

In literature, orcs were described as an army of mythical creatures who were hermits of low intelligence, filthy and disorganised. A contemporary of the orcs was the English writer John Tolkien. In his mind, orcs are dark creatures that embody evil. These barbaric people were subordinate to the Dark Lord and formed the backbone of his armed forces. Their army was conquered not by force, but by numbers. Orcs had extremely low intelligence and were not used to living in comfort. Tolkien's books became banned in the USSR because the Soviet people saw orcs as themselves. They lived behind the Iron Curtain, feuded with the rest of the world, lived by the rules of the pack and had a single godlike leader. This symbolism does not let go of the Russians to this day, which is why the invading army in Ukraine was called Orcs.
