- Battle is raging in Bakhmut. The city is currently the most active and violent front line in the war for Ukraine. After a string of defeats in Kharkiv and Kherson, the Russian army is scrambling to make gains, pouring soldiers and Wagner mercenaries into Bakhmut. FRANCE 24's reporters James André and Mayssa Awad visited the city to see how its last remaining residents are holding on under constant artillery fire.

@@Tmb1112 Afganistan has one of the tightest sanctions. Their money was frozen because invadors want to pay themselves reparations and distribute it the way they want it. Not only it was occupied by West for 43 years, a very peaceful nation but now is sanctioned. Noone helped them, civilians were killed by US bombing at night, Obama bombed them more Than Bush.
The human toll just breaks my heart. So sad to see how much pain and misery Putin has brought upon Ukraine. So sad.

I hope Ukraine continues to target military compounds and barracks. This Russian aggression has switched my pacifist tendencies to fierce attack mode. The only way to stop this suffering of civilians is to do whatever it takes.

@@kgm4556 what do you think would have happened to russia if nato had been allowed to surround it and armed all these places with air, missile, radar defense systems and even nuclear weapons? the cost of trying to keep up such a defense alone would have crushed them especially with further potential sanctions and being cut off from markets and allies. they wouldnt have lasted a decade. have you really not even considered any of this after all this time? thats scary.

Doctors from western Ukraine have arrived in the zone of Russia’s special military operation to deal with the enormous casualties that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering. The arrival of a large number of doctors from western Ukraine has been recorded in Konstantinovka, Chasov Yar and Artyomovsk (called Bakhmut in Ukraine). They had to deploy medical workers to the combat zone due to the enormous casualties that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering in Donbass.
For every Ukrainian casualty there are many more Russians. Sadly for those Russians there are no medics. The Russian government and military considers Russian soldiers to be expendable.

The Ukrainian didn't even get to see what hit them and the Russians were already in their trenches. On Russian maps, the gray area has grown considerably around this locality. That area will soon be under total Russian control. At least that's what the reports from the front show. Undoubtedly, the Ukrainians were pushed to the second line of defense. About Bahkmut... A correspondence between several leaders of the Mozart group and a journalist, published in the Daily Telegraph it shows us the complete picture of a Ukrainian disaster. The Americans said that the losses of the Ukrainians exceed 70%, and this is no Russian exaggeration. This is what they saw every day while they stayed in that area.
