I was skeptical that this was a pattern you could do what you said you could do with it. Knit, visit with friends while knitting this pattern, put it down and pick it back up and easily keep on knitting from where you left off. You can do exactly that! What a great and brilliant design. Love that it is the same on both sides. You sure did put a lot of thought into this pattern and what a great teaching tool to learn how stitches behave and how they look on each side with the same 1 row repeat. Just great.
Hahaha Your laugh has also made me laugh when you showed us the opposite side.... 👍👍👍👍. Thank you so much for introducing us this simple n nice reversible scarf. Have a lovely festive season and a wonderful 2022! 🎄⛄💗
The scarf is really nice and love the colors. Can't wait to see what's next. Also love your blouse. All those colors of the scarf and you blouse are my favorite colors. Lol!
LOVE this sweet and simple scarf design! Heading over to purchase it now. Will have to make a few for gift giving...after I make one for myself. (grin)
I just started this for my husband and I can’t stop thinking about how this might be knit as fingerless gloves in the round…. Can it be done? I’m too inexperienced to figure out how to do the slip stitch in the round. I truly love the way this scarf looks… I love having lines going both ways! It entertains my brain!
What a beautiful scarf! And it matches your shirt perfectly it almost disappeared for you put it on. But it's a wonderful color for you. And it looks real easy. I may have to see about getting this pattern. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial Barbara.
I kept staring at that beauty 'thinking 'how in the world did she come up with that design AND simple she says. I must try this! I am no longer on Rav so thanx much for another option. :D
Amazing balance between simplicity and interest! I could definitely see this in a worsted weight (which is really weird for me), though I'd probably take off a few row stitches to keep it skinnier. Great pattern!
Enjoyed the video! Love the scarf! I have to admit I was a little disappointed at first to find out the scarf didn’t have an exotic name like yours usually do (LOL), but after you explained about the shop, I got it! And it is “ a good scarf” !
Gosh, that’s a lovely pattern! I don’t purchase patterns that I can’t read first as there may be instructions I don’t understand. But it sure looks lovely! I’m going over to Ravelry to look at your page!
Yes that is the plan! But I don't know that they will "match" visually. Each one will be designed to be as simple as I can mange and I don't know where that will lead LOL.
Barbara help. I made an infinity scarf. I finished it off with what I thought was a stretch bind off but it wasn't. When I went to attach the ends together they didn't match up. How can I fix it. Thanks for any help you can give me. Happy Stitching
I'm so sorry, I missed this reply. The only way to fix it would be to pick out your bind off and try a stretchier bind-off that would allow you to block it wider.
The pattern is for sale on my website, Ravelry, Lovecrafts, or through your local yarn store. You can find the links to the online sources in the description notes.
The pattern isn't active there yet. I am working on it but the interface there is very slow and clumsy. It takes a lot of time for them to get it uploaded and populated throughout the site. When I have a link I will put it in the description, but it can take a couple of days.
Este patrón es en realidad uno de los que he hecho traducir al español. Si lo compras en el siguiente enlace tendrás acceso al pdf tanto en inglés como en español. www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/a-good-scarf-2
What a cute scarf! I really like the yarn you used but it doesn't look like it is available any longer. Boo hoo. If I can find a similar yarn I might try to make it.
Unfortunately yarns go out of distribution all the time. My favorite yarn to recommend for this pattern is Yowza from Miss Babs: www.missbabs.com/collections/yowza One of the semi-solid/tonal colors would give the same visual effect and since it's an oversized skein you can get a whole scarf out of one skein!
While I have seen a few Tin Can Knits patterns I am not familiar with all of them, so I went and checked them out. I see the scarf you are referring to and indeed they are similar in design. When doing something this simple it is not unusual for multiple designers to come up with similar concepts. But upon inspection there are significant design differences between the two scarves. And since theirs is a free pattern I was able to read the instructions and I assure you that they make use of different techniques than I have.

Beautiful pattern, Barbara! Thank you for the pattern tour for A Good Scatf.
You are so welcome!

My husband loves blue, so I have a lot of it LOL.
Was thrilled to find your book at my local Barnes and Noble! Now to get some bulky yarn!
That is very exciting! I've never seen one of my books in a "regular" book store - just LYS.
What a beautiful pattern. Love that it's just 1 row.
Yay! Thank you!
I love the pattern stitch of your new scarf pattern. I love reversible! What a fabulous plan for the holiday knitters! 😄❤️
Thank you!
Love the scarf, beautiful and easy. That yarn is gorgeous!
Ann Wilkerson Thank you!
Pretty scarf. The top you are wearing is very pretty too. You have a great sense of humor, love your channel:)

It really is pretty darn simple! I"m glad you like it.
Great video Barbara! I want to make it. You enabler!! LOL.. Love having you at my LYS.
LOL, I aim to enable!
I like that a lot - simple but not boring.
That's what I was going for!
Beautiful and It looks very easy garter and brioche stitches
Thank you. But there isn't any brioche - that would be too much complexity for my goal. It's just slipped stitches!
@@WatchBarbaraKnit Thank you for answering

Another amazing pattern from you. I can’t wait to knit it. But it will have to join the queue.
Ah, the queue LOL! Thank you.
I just bought this pattern & yarn. Let the games begin!
Have fun!
I love this scarf! I have to try knitting it!!😁😁 i bet this pattern would look great as an infinity scarf and a cowl. So very cool!!
Thank you! I can't wait to see what you knit up!
Amazing balance between simplicity and interest! I could definitely see this in a worsted weight (which is really weird for me), though I'd probably take off a few row stitches to keep it skinnier. Great pattern!
I love all yarn weights equally LOL.

Mary Christoforo LOL! It is indeed a little of a departure from my normal names.
A gorgeous scarf, a brilliant design and fun to knit! Thank you! ( P.S. I love A Good Yarn and visit whenever we're in FL.)
Thank you so much. Next time you're down I hope to see you!
I love stuff that's reversible!! If I'm not paying attention I always put stuff on wrong side out.
And scarves are soooo bad about that.
Love your channel and your new book BIG YARN BEAUTIFUL LACE 😊 I’ll be picking up this pattern too from Ravelry. ✨✨✨
Thank you!
Love it. Thank u again for a great pattern.

I understand, but unfortunately if I put it out to read then no one would ever buy it and I'd be out of work LOL! Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the 2nd option on where to buy the pattern. It's a lovely scarf.
Thank you
You are way too cute! I loved your video! So happy.
Thank you!
Will you have a good hat to match the good scarf, and fingerless gloves. 💕
Yes that is the plan! But I don't know that they will "match" visually. Each one will be designed to be as simple as I can mange and I don't know where that will lead LOL.
I just saw this scarf on the Space Cadet Yarns newsletter.
Thank you for letting me know where you saw it! That is great info!
Very nice!
Thank you!
bought your latest book, just waiting on it to get here
Thank you so much!
Hey Barbara, I am itching to make this scarf, I was just wondering what the colorway is in the Primrose yarns dk?
Had to go check, it's Crystal Lake!
Nossa adoro seus trabalhos.😍
Obrigado!
I made this pattern and although it is a simple repeat, I made many mistakes and had to tink rows over and over again. I will likely do another one.
I hope the next one goes more smoothly!
Love this scarf, just bought pattern. Can't wait to see your other ideas. I see Christmas gifts dancing in my head all from this scarf pattern. Lovely
I really did think it would be great for gift knitting.
I ordered this pattern and never received it. How do I contact someone
and purchased!

How stiches this scarf
I'm afraid I do not understand your question.
how you knit it???

I trued everything in 'Lovecrafts' to find your scarf....all the filters etc. but there's 1'000's & I just cant sift thru them all :(

Love this pattern, but do not the the larger size yarns. Would going double with sock yarn work?
Adriana Lemen Doubling up fingering/sock gives you DK so that would totally work!
How to knit?

Creative knitting is your specialty! Just love it. Yes, must keep the hands busy! 👏 👏 👏
It would be a nice wrap in a wider knit....maybe by double
That could be cool!
Kept waiting for you to lookup in horror , point , and yell Gojira . lol
LOL. That would certainly change the tone.
