Agree - great customer service. I have an original Nomad from their Kickstarter - when it had an issue I still got excellent support. My next CNC will definitely be a Carbide 3D.
Really happy with my 5 Pro 4x4 + VFD.
The VFD is definitely the way to go.
I love my Shapeoko 5 Pro. Thanks C3d!
Great job everyone
I love my 4x4 5 Pro.
Sigh.. Might have to build one to work towards my dream of watercooled heatsinks for ALL the things. 🧐
Nice variety of sizes. How much is 2x2 & 4x4?
Hey John, you can check out all sizes here: shop.carbide3d.com/products/shapeoko5?variant=40249287671869
I have a Pro XXL. What would be the benefits to upgrade?
The Pro XXL is a terrific machine. Especially when equipped with the VFD Spindle, you have a ton of capability. Aluminum and Brass are no problem at all.
For the features and benefits, this is what our CEO put together when we launched Shapeoko 5. It stands true today: carbide3d.com/blog/introducing-shapeoko-5-pro/
What you have is a terrific machine. Lots of times "need" and / or "want" come into play when deciding on an upgrade.

@@carbide3d Do you feel like the belts hurt my accuracy when doing fine detailed 3D?
What's the easiest way to get the 4x4 to ontario canada?
Hi Frank, RobotShop in Canada is your best source for Shapeoko 5. Cleanest way to deal with the import and associated fees. They don't yet have stock for their website, but you can contact them and they are able to get you a machine. When you need smaller items, like endmills, those will be sent directly to you. We look forward to having you in the Carbide 3d Family.
@carbide3d I have an open builds 1500 x 1500 but it's never been very accurate no matter what I do.
Now if only mine would ship...
Do you support 220v
The Shapeoko 5 runs on either voltage. The full specs can be found here: carbide3d.com/shapeoko/shapeoko5pro-specs/
Really wish that I would have bought a Shapeoko instead of an X-carve. : (
I've been on the fence about getting an x-carve and upgrading from my carve King CNC. What downsides have you experienced?
It's fundamentally a derivative of the Shapeoko 2, a much lighter-duty machine.
@@carbide3d I currently have a Millright and am looking to upgrade. Need the most bang for the buck.
@@ericpedersen2760I am there with you! ESP if a couple of deals come to fruition
Hasn't this been out awhile?
This is my exact thought, and if it's a 5 pro vs 5, what's differant. I didnt find much info at all highlighting a differance.
@@billcarriveau I'm sure there are more videos coming that will get to the details but the obvious main difference is that the 4 and old Pro both still use belts on the x and y axis while the 5 pro has ball screws everywhere. Pretty aggressive price for a machine with ball screws.
@@krtwood the point being the 5 pro has been out for some time but they just dropped a video about it again , leading people to belive its brand new again...
Why wouldn't I just buy an MR1? From Langmuir
Reed, You should look at the entire cost and time involved in getting that machine setup. Be sure and do all the math before making the choice that is right for you.
Shapeoko is a 100% solution / Quick assembly and an established machine platform with a full ecosystem of support. We'd love to have you in the Carbide 3D Family.
Not vibing the Ginsu Knife sales guy thing...I could be wrong, but I think this crowd responds well to actual info not slicky-slick sales guy schtick...maybe it's just me.
