Hotel Iroquois ~ Mackinac Island Garden Tour, with the New Dock!

- Check out the gorgeous garden walkways at one of my favorite locations on Mackinac Island. The Hotel Iroquois and I have been working and scheming over the last year or two for this incredible transformation. We ripped up the entire patio so they could install a beautiful dock, but it's all brand new and finally complete.. Watch this video as we take you on a tour and show you what it used to look like. I love my job!!!
The new dock is stunning! I'd love to see tours of the private gardens that aren't open to the general public, for those of us unable to get to the Grand Garden Show this year.
The talent is "all in the family". What a stunning design for the dock, the boxes and deck. What a gorgeous way to arrive to the hotel. Cheers and thank you
Omg finally my favorite episode of the year! Even better my wife and I will be there next Wednesday for a few nights. Excited to see it in person (great video but everything pops out so much better first hand) and I can already taste the Carriage House filet with a cold bottle of Moscato, cheers 🥂

Hotel Iroquois is looking fantastic - I appreciated seeing the stunning walkway up to the Carriage House and the shrub and flower border around the grass. Choosing to put flowers on both sides of boxwoods was brilliant. I enjoy your videos especially when you visit private gardens on Mackinac Island and I'm interested in the projects your doing in North Carolina and Kentucky.

We just came home from Mackinac yesterday. It was on my bucket list to actually stay on the island this time instead of a day visit. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary there and at the top of my list was to see the Iroquois and see all your incredible work in person. No video or photo can do it justice. Absolutely gorgeous Jack!

Jack, I would like to see more water features and ponds that you may have installed on the island or in Florida. It can be tricky to make them look natural, but if anybody can do that, it's you!

I appreciate the huge amount of work put into this and the practicality of having everyone on one side for the serving staff but personally I liked the garden better before without everyone being pushed together to one side. It gave a more exclusive feel when dining.
That’s my personal opinion.

Gorgeous redo of the Iroquois back yard and also the dock! We saw the dock being worked on when we were there the beginning of July. The garden filled out beautifully. I'm interested in videos of the renovations you do (big or small) I love seeing the end results of all your ideas and improvements. I'm also a gardener and love anything to do with that...

Jack dear, so soothing the sound is in the background of the water splashing up on the rocks & shore. The Iroquois looks so incredible compared to years ago, when I was there. The entire island is really going through some upgrades, and it is looking stunning.
[2] When you head down to North Carolina, I hope you surprise visit Jerry & Jenny at Creekside Nursery, and give them some JackMagic incentives. such nice folks! Their new Atlas is a MUST SEE. I can't wait to get mine built like this one,, only hopefully mine will be double that size for year round [far to table] growing. Beautiful gardens. Is that hydrangeas in the pots on the dock? Do they stay in the pots all winter? They must be pretty hardy. I have a request: when filming these beautiful gardens, can you keep your background in focus? I’d love to see them clearer. Love your videos.

I'm new here to Jack Barnwell Design but love, love seeing the beautiful landscapes and beautiful homes throughout the island. I am wondering though, with everyone either having to walk, ride bicycles, or take a carriage ride, how do the older, less active homeowners get around town?

It's just amazing how full and lush the new garden is looking, and to sit on that dock, what a joy that must be. I'm happy to see whatever you have to share. Your Grams place would be nice to see again, what it's looking like to right of the front door, after you replaced what was there.
