Inspired by all your videos, but especially like the natural woodland projects you do! So enjoy the Woodbluff & Stonecliffe areas of the island! Thank you to the owners for allowing you to share, & appreciate you taking time to share your work with these videos in your busy days!
I love your videos Jack! Your passion shines through all of your projects. And you inspire me so much. I'd love to see videos about how to theme a garden, the mental planning process and how to achieve it.
I love watching all of your Island videos! The one of you cooking the salmon in your amazing home was especially wonderful! Thank you for sharing all of your talents and creations! Wishing you and your family a beautiful Fall!
Jack just keep doing what you doing I am amazed at every project that you do and I'm learning a lot from you I'm not a Master Gardener but I'm here in the New England states where it's always a challenge but your style your process and your love for what you do and what you create is completely unique not only to the area where you live and where you work but you're just pretty amazing and I'm really glad that I landed on you through Garden answer who I also follow religiously and you are on that same Planet as she is at this point I watch you as often as I can
Love you! Plus all your projects you share with us! You have a real gift, with landscaping and sharing with your viewers! That is why I subscribed! Brigitte in Tulsa Oklahoma
Love the natural look.....will be glad to see the full turnaround, but it's great to see it done in sections....to be able to understand we don't have to do it all in a second....or have all the money instantly. Life isn't like that for most of us.....gardens gradually build thru the years for most of us
I love watching you and your crew working and hearing about the plants you selected and how you plan out your designs! Keep more videos coming!! This video inspired me to have our small creek that flows to our pond redone to look like the one you created here! Ours needs some attention.......wish you worked in Kentucky!! :)
Beautiful drone photography! I like to hear your thinking and see your design process and how you blend landscapes into to native. This honors the island. It has a beautiful natural forest that should be appreciated and preserved. Thanks Jack!
Jack you are truly inspiring. I would love to learn more about how to have a moss garden. I am in zone 6 in St. Louis, Missouri and would love to have a moss garden in back. Thanks for all that you do and your beautiful designs. Visiting the island is on my bucket list.
I really enjoy seeing you install a landscape. I’d love to see you plan and draw concept sketches. Maybe, also, a video on putting the various landscapes to bed for the winter. Best wishes.
Loved this video! I've been going to the island my whole life and the "natural Mackinac" is what has always drawn me there. I bought my first "Michigan Wildflowers" book there in my early twenties (Yellow Trout Lily is the first flower recorded in the log!) I think people would love to see what these beautiful properties look like in the dead of winter....snow piled high and blowing into drifts....the beautiful plants "sleeping' under the deep snow....it can be surprising to see the differences between Michigan summer and Michigan winter!
Made it to Mackinac Island this summer and biked the island. We saw a few of your beautiful projects- one of the main reasons to come. Love your work and kind of wish southwestern Virginia had some of your weather- until I think of Michigan winters!
Excellent videography. All your videos are so interesting, well cone and entertaining. Since I can't live on Mackinac Island, I so appreciate seeing these videos that give us an intimate look at gardens and projects. Thank You...love the moss too :)
I would like to see more about the horse power and how you and your crew move and position some of the big boulders in some of your previous videos. As always Jack thanks for what you do very entertaining and informative.
Last year, you did that video where you cooked salmon and I was hoping you would please do another cooking video along with your regular gardening stuff! I'm a big fan and I enjoy everything you produce!!! My sister's the bigger fan and thank you for the autograph!
Yes, to all of your suggestions for content! I would like more info on layering from back to front of garden beds. Also continued tours of the architecture of the island.
Love your videos and the beauty you create. You often mention multi season plantings on your tours but it would be cool to see the same area at different times of the year (easier said than done!). I would also be very interested to hear more about how you approach garden lighting plans and what products you use.
I really love your garden design but loved it when you showed the interior design of the home when it was all finished with the furniture in the Brigadoon house fire project.
Your designs harmonize with Mother Nature's designs so beautifully. I would love to get inside your creative mind as you plan a project. Over this winter, I'll be "designing" a natural hideaway in my suburban back yard that hints at my favorite Lake Superior spot in northern Minnesota. I'm researching dwarf conifers and loose shrubs to mimic the woods up north. That small flagstone patio is going into the center of my plan along with a smokeless fire pit. I found a dwarf chamaecyparis (dwarf hinoki cypress) that is quirky enough to be my anchor and build off that, add some boulders (how DO you manage them into place?), some grasses, blueberries, hydrangeas (because those look natural in the woods, right? 😆), maybe a natural folly to screen the very nearby neighbors. Thankful for Winters to allow me planning time.
I enjoy listening and watching to all of the things you mentioned. Never get tired and enjoy possible even learning a short cut that I was not familiar with, Thanks for asking.
Videos I prefer: EVERYthing you do! Plenty of views of Mackinac in general, design explanations of what you are doing & why, brief explanations of the plants you use - these are the things we love.
Oh I would love to learn more about the horse culture there, and a follow-up to the Lake Michigan Landscape Design project (the one where you had the torrential rain).
Hi Jack! What a beautiful setting! I love the way you have a blank canvas and the foresight to create a beautiful setting! Another great job Jack! You always amaze me with how hard you work!! Any video you do is interesting! I love Mackinac Island.....it's a beautiful way of living. Have a great day! :)
Great creativity 👏👌
Horses and gardens, yes PLEASE. I'm happy with whatever you're working on, showing how it all gets delivered would be a treat.
I’m so happy this cottage belongs to new owners who were wise enough to include you in making the property magical!
Deep dive into everything you mentioned! Would love that!!! ❤❤❤
Inspired by all your videos, but especially like the natural woodland projects you do! So enjoy the Woodbluff & Stonecliffe areas of the island! Thank you to the owners for allowing you to share, & appreciate you taking time to share your work with these videos in your busy days!

You have the best job ever. I would like to see how the meadow turns out. Listening to the sound of running water and taking in nature is so peaceful.
