Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.

yeah cause youtube still processes it... when I upload the vids on my other channel it was a nightmare I tried to do an AV1 and found they take longer sometimes!

God I hope one day that could be a thing or bring back some kind of alien face hugger and let it loose for shhhh... and giggles😅 or even some kind of special rare event like Wrath of the Lich King had with the Zombie Plague.
that would add just a new dimension to the game. Especially with ships with large hangers. Also would could be another profession of trapping and poaching. Collecting live specimens for zoos or what not.

So lowish 35fps and average 5 server fps, still no reason to come back...
Just dlss it and you’ll get pretty stable high 40-60 fps, or just down scale the game on your monitor.
No reason for you to come back in the first place if you aren’t testing the update!

Master modes were always going to be a shitshow, it's just selectively crippling your ship whilst also wasting your time
That NPC dancing randomly is 100% what I have been wanting to see for a living world. Glad you had a great experience in EPTU, mine hasn't been as pleasant yet, lol.

I could not deal with the flickering (and sometimes disappearing) ship U.I. under Vulkan, though I DID manage to do a complete hauling run from Bajini Port to Picker's Field, sell some scrap and buy some RMC to sell at Area18 .
I'd love to see a vid of you going through all the changes you've seen to the control schemes, etc. Sort of help us all mentally prep for what's coming.

I hope there will be a local mission manager at the distribution centers that is not connected via the mobiglas. Where we can sell info like mining information (Asteroid locations) saved via the Map app.

Very nice update video. I decided to try your graphics settings, and when I attempted to use your window setting or the Vulcan, my screen got so large that it was unusable. It turns out that my game was set to 2560x1440 and my desktop was set to 1920x1080 (I’m quite old and 1920 is easier to read). I changed my desktop to the same resolution as my game resolution, and your window setting and Vulcan both worked beautifully! I run an I-7 8700K CPU with Nvidia 2080 GPU and 32 Gb of ram and generally get an FPS of around 60 when I’m not in a city.

Last time I was in eptu we had server crash after server crash consecutively for about 15 minutes and then I noped out.
The flickering is vulkan driver related Mac just fyi
The hud blur might be also caused by to high of an FOV (happens to me even before up scaling was a thing)

Yeah, EPTU 3.23 runs like dogshit. I get 500 ping in US servers, when im from the US. I barely have been able to retrieve my vehicle. Hate to say it, but its going to be another 3.18.
I was finally able to get on to play (i had an infinite loading bug on launch). I was able to participate in the Xeno threat finale and it was awesome to be a part of. The AI was BETTER (still not good) but it played surprisingly smooth for me. It was nice to see a slice of what this game can be in the future.

I was on last night and the server lag seemed really good but the teams never reached their destinations. I logged and hopped servers and the lag was insane.
I can't get the game to work with this EPTU patch... there is a 2-3 min delay from when I push a button, and when it responds.
There a number of reasons for the Super bad lag. 1) the EPTU 3.23 was just out of Evocati, and CIG even admitted they released it too early, 2) everybody and his/her brother/sister who bought a subscription for a month we’re trying to “play” the new update. I suspect that only 10 to 15% are actually testing the features. 3) I suspect CIG devs are curing and pasting old code in to fix issues, and that old code is causing their own issues.
You need to open the Issue Council (IC), and report every bug you encounter or confirm it if it’s already reported. Too many people are whining about “not being able to play” the update!
When you realise there's still 9 week for them to polish it until the end of Q2

So, if you park your ship amd leave, and want to leave shields on with power diverted thereto ( as you do), you have to be in ship-combat-mode (scm), correct?

Sadly they overplayed how big 3.23 really is as most of the important features will not be in other than the new map, no hangers, no freight elevators, no new cargo missions and no item recovery, this is hardly anything more than some quality of life improvements.
What setting are these is looks awesome.
It's been a hilly ride for me, very hit or miss - not complaining mind you, just stating the facts.. I got in last night around 1am without issue and servers were super responsive but I was in a server that at the time I checked which was apx an hour after logging in, had only 35 people listed in chat (yes I counted, server count said 0/0). But most of the times I've been logging in I have had a slew of issues, ranging from falling through floors at Loreville and falling through the tram onto the rails - to be ran over and killed 30s later by an invisible tram, to flying through buildings at Orison on the tram there, wings blowing off my ship randomly and not being able to see my buddy, standing on the same spot as me, on the same shard.. Today I just spent 35 minutes trying to get an elevator to show up at Seraphim.. Typically I've spent anywhere from 5s to 5m to get a door to open or get out of bed when servers were running good.. it's an adventure lol.. Might go to wave 2 today, according to the CIG MOTD I just read.. Hope this warns some of you as what to expect if you get in.. All I got to say is, Welcome to hell, you're in good company my friends, see you all out there! o7
It feels insane watching you fly around with no shields... I mean, this is Star Citizen - you be attacked at any time...
I had a substantial fps gain when I upgraded to 64GB and killed my paging file. Using the HD as RAM tanks the performance when it needs to do standard HD stuff. On my 980 Pro, it loads the game 1-2 minute longer with a paging file enabled and stutters like mad. Running an RTX 3070 @3440x1440 on high with an i7 11700 and getting around 40-50 fps on MT and 100-110 in space. Interested to see if there are any performance gains for me in 3.23
I have had very bad luck in getting into and stay online with 3.32. Loot boxes are bugged too.
I now believe there needs to be a pack of Copians transplanted to one of the lagrange point stations, perhaps the cargo levels...
Anxious to get into live build
The map issue is clear to see what is going on the upper levels of the base are overlapping the level your on so as you pan the camera round your moving fast over a closer map obviously they'll probably tweak it to hide upper levels in doors!
This all looks fantastic. I cannot wait to try this out myself. And congrats on the new pet! Hopefully it doesn't eat ships.
Bud you have given me the idea of trying to load a number of them and see if I can unleash them on loreville or somewhere with a load of npcs

every time i steal a ship full of cargo at Dunboro in live pu, i think about if you find the empty ships and start salvaging them. I leave the shields off just in case ;)
Every time I abandon a ship I leave everything off and all doors open. I always liked finding ships like that to salvage :)
As a salvager, I really appreciate this.
I wish more citizens shared in your common sense.
If more would do so, we could clean up the servers for the community. But between inaccessible ships, and trolls, salvaging in the wild isn't very efficient.
Imagine if many made their garbage mans job a pain in the butt. Or shot at him every time they should up to pick up trash.

Recently went in to clean up the junk around JT, so players had a clean place to land and work, and got blown up for it.

I don’t believe so. For a few days I had no HUD on any vehicle, and I wasn’t testing Vulcan. In the latest patch notes, the devs said “missing HUD fixed.” That leads me to suspect it was an issue with the software since I had HUDs for the first few builds, then all of a sudden, I didn’t have a HUD. I was not using Vulcan at any time up until the latest update when I had a HUD again.

As salty as I am about the "Archetype rebalancing" screwing over all of my ships... seriously, my Origin and Crusader ships all now have the speed and handling of a Drake. And in the case of my 600i, the handling of a Hull-C. WT-ever loving-F? But... I'm psyched about the new customizer. Especially the beards. I haven't been clean-shaven since... '95? '96? And I haven't had less than a short beard since '97. So it's always weird to me to have an MMO character that's clean-shaven. Your new avatar reminds me of Amos.

i got back into it lately with 3.23 on horizon, havnt survived a single mission without a crash, server issue bug or murdered.its so demoralising, no money, weapons' gone.. i dont see the point

you wont try photo mode on crusader - my 4090 went from 60 ish fps on high/very high to 20 once i turned photo mode on :D
