This announcement has been in the works ever since Aeronautics was at 2,000 members, and since then we've come a long way. It's been a lot of experimentation and work to get to this point. Check out this new feature showcase of our new contraption engine, Landlord!
We aim for aeronautics to be playable by all in 2023.
DISCLAIMER: This mod is currently in development, and all footage is taken from a private dev server. Although Aeronautics isn't planned to release until 2023, the download will be linked here when its publicly available.
Create: Aeronautics is an expansion on the Minecraft Create mod with physically-simulated interactive contraptions. Several new blocks are included to interface with and automate airships, expanding on the combat, exploration, and automation of the Create mod.

Oh also (hi aero dev i was the one who wrote this) if you're Still looking for more recent content on youtube, I reuploaded the little April Fools video I made a while back which does a great job at showing a lot of the backend progress that's been made, with minimal overhead compared to just loading the ship while it's disassembled. Bruh in all videos shown it’s playable. I’m all for real life comes first but a community will only stay dedicated for so long. Both clockwork and eureka which were created after work for aero began and both are public. I’ve waited almost 2 years for this mod I’m not sure how much longer I’m willing to wait
I know I for one am highly annoyed. Y’all have a great community the most dedicated out there that is willing to wait but as the devs it falls to you to make sure you don’t make unrealistic promises. I think that’s what annoys me most. We all knew it was gonna take years for aeronautics but then we got excited it would release in 2023 because you told us. I’m not saying you outright lied to us but it feels a bit like that to me as the viewer in all this. And reading the blog post I think as a team you need to organize yourselves. Prioritize tasks and make it happen. I say this a fellow programmer. You by your own admission have done multiple rewrites. It’s the same problem that many other projects have. You’ve wasted an entire year because of this. I suggest you get your priorities straight and your team both organized and on the same page
This is actually mindblowing. The fact that the mod allows for entities to still work on the contraption is absolutely insane
Its actually quite genius, they render it normally, but have the actual contraption in a sort of subspace, where it does all its processes, so you get a funtional and practical machine.

I have no words. I can’t even imagine how such physics, and mechanics can be implemented in minecraft, especially in Java, it’s just not only beyond my knowledge, but also beyond my imagination. What kind of Java knowledge is needed to pull this off? CREATE is already a revolutionary mod, but with this addition they will improve minecraft to an unprecedented level. I am very pleased to realize that there are such enthusiasts.

@@stanleymorse3260 javas strong suit is mods and shaders, optifine is a major improvement and mods make minecraft the most complex survival game of all time, i mean when a mod pack adds realistic super complicated nuclear reactors, literally pocket dimesions that take an EXTREME amount of energy to maintain other planets space stations that actually have to move through space to reach these planets and oebital lasers on said space stations. You really cant beat it
@@SALVATOR69 I love mods, therefore i love java, because is far more difficult to play with mods in bedrock. But lets be honest, java alone is trash if you compare it with bedrock. I can play with 96 chunk render distance in bedrock with my computer not even making a single sound but if i try that in java pretty sure it will crash
I was impressed of how big was the blimp that was moving but the entities sticking to it and redstone working and also trains working is on a whole new level

This connects the part of my brain running on the create mod, to the old forgotten part of my brain still running on the Archimedes' Ships mod. This is literally the mod I've wanted in minecraft for such a long time. A combination of my two all time favorite mods.
There has been such a dearth of good airship mods since Archimedes. I await this with bated breath

The current best airship mod is Valkyrien Skies, combined with Eureka (the new valkyrien skies is a library mod). It has the same custom physics etc, so you can build while moving, have entities and all that.
I want a good airship mod so I can create my base in the sky. So I can be part of TEAM SKY!! in my Pixelmon worlds.
I always wished for an update some day for archimedes but this is much better since my new addiction to create

I've never been more excited for a mod ever. Watching the progress on this is simply phenomenal. I am absolutely thrilled to see that massive airships work well because this means my airship that I've been keeping backlogged for a while will work!! This has been the mod of my dreams forever and I can't wait for this beautiful creation to come to full fruition. Also the cinematography and editing for this showcase was stunning! Astounding work!!

It has me super excited as well. Not only for the mod itself, which I’m sure will be as mindbendingly good as create was, but also for the future as other people will look at the results and start expanding on it.
Airships are something the modding community has worked on a ton over the years, but this mod could easily be tweaked to offer boats, submarines, and maybe even proper spaceships, not to mention it also already supporting planes and helicopters. Even cars aren’t very far out of reach with the breakthroughs this mod seems to have made.
You guys are crazy this is so dope. Congrats to all the team this is definetly Minecraft 2.0

I was fully convinced that Create and its family of mods were the most ambitious Minecraft projects I've ever seen, but this...solidify doesn't fully describe it. I was impressed when create did the trains, but this? This is...I have no words. Even if the motion remains janky and stuttery, I care not. I love the idea of naval battles, and especially naval battles that aren't in the water, but I never imagined it would be in Minecraft.
Massive props to the create mod team for making the tools and documentation freely available so projects like this can exist

I have been waiting for a spiritual successor to "Archimedes Airships" for years, and out of nowhere i see someone is making it as a create add on, I love it
there's eureka + create interactive as a successor, still not as impressive as aeronautics (i think you already know that)
I’m extremely glad that airships, especially colossal ones, are showing great promise in this mod. I’ve got a steampunk themed island I’ve been working on with a friend and this is only gonna make it 10x better, just phenomenal work
This has to be the most absurd, ambitious, down-right mind-bending modding project Minecraft has ever seen. Create is an excellent mod that already does stuff I didn't think was possible in our little block game, but this is like something out of a dream.
Create just keeps getting bigger and more fantastic as time goes on; it's super impressive the devs can not only implement all of this stuff, but out-do themselves time and time again.
Truly an astounding mod, and one that continues to push the Minecraft sandbox to its fullest potential.
This is incredible. When I was younger, I used to build huge airships in minecraft, but was always saddened by the fact that they were static. No more a 'vehicle' than the neighboring mountain or tree. This changes all of that!! I can't believe this is more than a clever edit, a literal childhood dream come true haha.
In my teenage years, I got into 'Space Engineers' becasue you could build large ships and actually drive them around. Eventually, the lack of a 'living world', NPCs, survival elements, performance issues, and buggy physics drove me away.
This mod is going to be phenomenal. All of the things that bothered me with archemedes' ships are dealt with, and so much more is introduced. I've been loosely following this for a while and I'm amazed with how much effort has gone into it. It really shows.
I'm really looking forward to this, I honestly can't wait!!
there’s also mod called valkyrien skies and it’s currently in development successor that allows you to build moving ships you could walk on like space engineers, we are truly reaching another golden age of Minecraft mods

It's incredible. Almost 8 years ago, me and my best friend spend a year to build and furnish a giant Airship like the one showcase in this video, and just "RP" that it would work like that. (We discovered how to teleport it with command, to make it move on a save).
It's like, teenage dream become reality.

Just wow. Exactly what i've always wanted. Working airships where you can actually walk and live and interact while its moving. Phenomenal work.
Mighty god-machines like these, with vast engine rooms, hungry for crude fuel, with multilevel control room and captain stand, all covered up under great and shiny dining halls and cozy living rooms with chess and fireplaces for evenings of intellectual debates... miracle of engineering, wielding immense, proud power, while ensuring a comfortable life in the sky while traveling... is what kept me daydreaming for so long...
All of that in minecraft of all places
I remember daydreaming about the Zeppelin mod all of the time back when the Yogscast made their review a decade ago... never got to play it because 4th grade me didn't know how mods worked, but just the idea of having working player-built airships in the game that weren't bound to the normal grid of blocks was incredible to me. Hell-- it still is, even with how far airship mods have come.
But this? Create Aeronautics blows everything I dreamed of in an airship mod out of the water. The fact that the ship itself is its own block grid that can be built on while it's moving (to the point of supporting redstone and Create contraptions!), how enclosed rooms can protect players from fluids, how plants get random-ticked, and of course how the whole damn thing is a physics simulation that demands that you include propellers and all that shit to keep things afloat... it's beautiful. Easily one of the most ambitious mods I've ever seen.
I'm looking forward to making an airship base whenever Aeronautics comes out. Or a floating city, one of the two. Good luck to the whole dev team, y'all deserve it; it might sound cheesy, but you're making the dreams of a lot of players a reality if your mod is even one-tenth as good as the trailer makes it look.
About my fifth time watching this now, cannot overstate how excited I am for future updates on progress!
Minecraft will finally feel complete to me once this mod is released. I've always felt that the lack of buildable vehicles keeps Minecraft from feeling like a complete experience, especially with all those ship ruins about the world but with no way to use them. With Create we finally have buildable Trains, and with Aeronautics we'll finally have buildable Airships (And maybe regular ships as well?), which makes me very happy.

And maybe even land vehicles beacuse belts will be used as treads

The dream of having your actual character walk on a set that looks like it came from a minecraft animation will become a reality with this mod. This along with magic mods (within reason) would make for some really epic battles, story driven worlds, and the like.
Imagine a skyblock type series called smthn like THE WORLDS EDGE where the whole point is to create a large steampunk airship on this central island so you can travel across the void hopping from one island to another with the goal being the reach the edge where mysteries unfold :)

And to be able to get there you'd need to get through a few areas by upgrading your ship, like a thunderstorm ring around spawn, you'd need conductive materials like copper to create a discharge grid so if lightning strikes it doesn't set your ship on fire, or exotic material for a device that would emit a frequency to ward away flying beasts from atacking your ship

I am so excited for this! I love the idea of making airships that you don't need pistons for and being g able to use chests , crafting tables, and other interfaces while flying them. The fact that is works with so many other mods blows my mind and I am so excited for it to be released.

seriously, it makes me despise Mojang even more. You know how YEARS ago there was the "better than wolves" mod? Which was made specifically to protest how poor of an addition wolves were compared to what COULD HAVE been added?
Well it feels like the entire create team is just that guy times 50. Mojang COULD have let us, not just raid structures that look like ships, but *_actually intercept and broadside actually flying battleships_* , INSTEAD they spent dev time letting them ban players from their own servers!
While Mojang has been breaking every bone in the original gameplay loop's body with a crowbar, the Create team are building it bionic replacements.
@@robonator2945tbh, it's a bit sad that Notch never implemented the ship building feature he once mentioned adding. A long time ago he talked about adding a system that would allow you to build a ship and than pilot it through a helm block (basically like Archimedes ships)

Nice English there, a few mistakes and a bit too formal. But other than that, good job!
The main mistake is that "are very much waiting for the" should be "are heavily anticipating the" you should use "anticipating" when you want to specify the strength instead of "waiting", since "waiting" cannot be strengthened easily.
Other mistake are typos, like "creare" should be "create", referring to a group as a individual, "Hello Dear Create Aeronautics" should have a "team" at the end,
And the very formal feeling gotten from reading this as a native speaker, which can be fixed by removing the "dear" at the beginning, removing the period at the end of the text and changing "you further advancement and success" into "you success making this mod" or "you success"
But learning a language so different from your own and typing out something is hard so well done.
this is NUTS, never would I have imagined physics, block interactions(beds, chests etc), building in real time on entities and create logic passthrough on a moving entity back when I was playing with archimede's ships in 1.7.10
This would be so much fun for a nomad playthrough, just have your entire base move slowly and you can't even stop it when you go to the ground

While I have not looked at the code yet, I'd guess that they simply created a second dimension (or similar) and store all the contraptions there, then render them where they should be.

Every time I see a video for this mod it blows me away, the build is insanely cool and the progress on the mod is incredible, I’m amazed that it’s even possible to push the Minecraft engine that far. Super hyped for when we can try this stuff out!

this reminds me of that archimedes’ ships mod from like 2013
i already love the valkerien skies eureka mod for the airships. but having real aerodynamics and being able to crouch on the edge of blocks would bring my experience up so much. i just love physics building games.
That brings me back to the time when I was a kid, dreaming of piloting machines of my construction, having epic aerial battles with my friends, super excited for the release!

I tried to build a ship like this back in I think 2012, using the Zeppelin and Ugocraft mods! Sadly it didn't work, but I am just so blown away that you managed to make it in modern Minecraft!!
