THEY don't want to have more medical issues, go slower, or potty where they shouldn't any more than you want them to. They can't help it! It comes with age, and time comes for us all.

People who mistakenly think, "Well, they're just dogs" (or "just animals") really need to watch videos like these to see the full gamut of emotions these creatures experience. With some of them you can almost read their thoughts as they transition from fear to openness. Thank you, Rocky. @lucycarbajal9979 You are so right on every point.. I have four children total, and every one of them are animal lovers. From a young age they learned that animals feel just like we humans do. We have 8 of them that we have rescued from abuse. We have rabbits and our dog Namuq, they are all a part of our family and they are protected and loved. Thank you, for your kind words. I donate to The animal care Sanctuary in East Smithfield, PA. It is a no kill shelter and we adopted a Black Lab mix from there. He was abused. It takes time. He has become the best dog.
I am not a dog owner, but I feel the need to watch your videos any way. I have, however, rescued three cats from our local animal shelter. My dad was a veterinarian and a greyhound rescuer. Yes, well said. I am a disabled senior living alone with no friends close by and no family in this country. I would love to have a furry rescue to love and care for, but my disability/mobility issues won't allow it. Sad, as I would love to provide a loving home for an older in-need dog (or cat). ❤❤❤❤ You are the best! You have inspired this 77 yr old Georgian , with our 3 wonderful rescues living in our home and hearts, to visit our local rescue and see just what this i old gal can do !
It is encouraging to know that people are coming around and realizing Pitties are not the vicious dogs they have been portrayed to be. Just a few years ago a close childhood friend's daughter told me they were vicious and not to be trusted. The woman was so mean to me that I just didn't argue with her. I just chalked it up to ignorance about the breed. They are a beautiful breed.
Oh dear sweet Casper, he looks SO tired, i'm crying, oh - he just relaxed and licked your face oh that is JUST ESPECIALLY BEAUTIFUL. OH, it's tears of joy now
Jenny touched my heart!! I have a black lab named Mickey!! I love him so! I previously had another lab for 16 years named Nikki. She was my heart! I would’ve taken Jenny in a heartbeat!! Thank you Craig!! And thank you Rocky for all that you do!! ❤
I’m in the UK but I love seeing you bringing such comfort into these poor little pooches lives. You’re such a great advocate for them. By the way you have the best chuckle I’ve ever heard 😊
I have 15 dogs of different ages and 3 different breeds. They all have their own personality and feelings. Yes I said feelings. Some people don't think that animals have feelings but they do. When they feel that you are a good person they can and will always be your best friend.
I’ve cried my eyes out today, I took on a horse that’s really sick, and it is so hard to see them broken. You made me smile, you give me faith that there is folks out there that loves them as much as me. I got the Vet doing a farm call Monday, please pray for Tulsa, he’s got to get through this. Y’all are in my prayers.

Hey Rocky! You are the most incredible person I’ve ever seen. After five years of watching you, you’ve inspired me to rescue my dog, Huey, and I couldn’t have made a better decision. I continue to watch you as I try to grow a dog channel and hope the best for you in the future!
@@rockykanaka Hi Rocky . I just found you last week and now I watch obsessively on UA-cam , your web etc. My husband and I got our first dog soon after we married 55 years ago and had dogs every single day since then. Our daughters have followed suit with dogs and cats. We have 3 rescues now and fear our time is too limited to take another, but our hearts are with you. Several year ago our rescue, Millie ( from a puppy mill ) ended her fairly long life after abuse that would make anyone cry. She was my heart dog and looked almost exactly like Bailey. Will you do an update,Please? Just know that this family will work to pass along your information here in Ga and across the nation in my daughter’s corporation. We pray for your journey’s success and for all support you may need to continue . If I can ever be helpful , ask. I;ll be here!
I have been watching these for a couple of months. I have an eighteen year old poodle mix and I got my fur baby when he was 8 months old. And these videos with you sitting with these lovely babies just normally bring me to tears. I just want to hold and take them home. I really loved the Pupdates
Rocky, I'm a 74 year old disabled lady in Oregon and my days are long with all my pain. So I love watching you calm these dogs and bring them back to life. That stinky but sweet chocolate lab was one I just wanted to hug through the tv. Talking about feeling her heart beat caused me to think about when my mom was passing. The hospital sent a young man in to play his harp for mom and our family. The man was watching mom's readings on the machines and I told him I knew he was monitoring the numbers. He watched mom's heart rate just slow down to a peaceful rate. If you could play gentle soft music while talking to the dogs you might see them get mellow even faster. You do an awesome job. Keep up the great work!
I lost the dog of my heart 3 years ago and I still miss her every day 💔. It took a year before I was ready for another dog. I fostered one for a while, which helped.
Here is the thing alot of senior dogs were also owned by seniors and when the family comes in and puts their parent in a home, and the dog is left behind. Or the parent died and the dog left behind. I've witnessed this more than I can count. It is very important that people who own animals make sure they find someone to take them if anything happens. My dog is taken care of. I have 2 people that will take mine if any thing happens to me. The best thing people can do is take senior dogs in. Their deserve it.
We had a family friend who passed in 2019 and left an 11 year old chihuahua mix. We took her in. She's fully deaf and not all there mentally, but she'll have a home until she joins her first human.
Frosted Faces Ramona California is such a wonderful shelter for senior dogs, they also take on pets left behind due to owner passing if they can (have room, see Dawn's story here.)
Yes!! This!! When my grandma passed, we drove to Tennessee & took home some of her cats. If my parents were to pass, I'd take their dogs, even though I have 2 of my own already.
Thank you for all you do- when you asked her “do you need help” I burst into tears. If we all asked that question one dog, cat, human once a day - the world would be such a better place. Thank you for the reminder of why we are on this earth- to LOVE & HELP❤❤❤❤
I have a boxer granddog that belong to my daughter and son-in-law. There is nothing like an excited boxer happy to see you. His whole backend wiggles. And I get my whole face washed each time I see him.
Thank you to Rocky and the people who work with him, to the lady shelter employee who helped Casper (the white dog ... Dobo Argentina?) to open up, and to the adopters who are giving him a good, loving home and family.
Star is so beautiful! Her eyes are the same color as her coat. She is sweet even though she is in pain. She is Such a beautiful color. I hope/pray her new owner loves her well!
My dog now and my dog before where shelter dogs. When my last dog died I was devastated, I went two days later to saved another life in his honor, March 22 will be two years since he died and my heart still breaks for him. My dog now helped me through it and still does. I would never say I would take any dog in a heartbeat and then not take it. Maybe if you didn’t say that people wouldn’t try pushing you when you’re not ready. There’s no time limit on grief I know that firsthand, but I also know my dog probably wouldn’t have survived the shelter because of her breed. She watches the videos and I could tell from her expression she remembers being there
❤ I had to send my almost 19 year old rescued ❤Rhodesian Ridgeback/Carolina on the 1st of last month; I still have my rescued almost 4 year old catahoula & have been debating on getting her a new running buddy from the shelter.❤
You have gotten 4.21 million views in a little over 4 hours. You KNOW that someone is going to adopt all these beautiful doggies! I wish we had someone like you in the Houston Texas area.
You are a great person...... i cant stop crying. Im a animal lover and a rescuer. i like dogs but im a cat person. Recently i saved a dog living in poor conditions with the owner and gave the dog as a present to my parents. Turns out, she is a great dog. And she loves my parents!
When I first started watching your videos I really enjoyed them, but I didn’t realize that one my cats enjoys more watching your videos. She watches the screen and enjoys listening to your comforting voice.
Poppy is the name of my little yorkiepoo that I adopted from a picture on Petfnder. We have had our little girl for 8 years and we are in love with our Poppy. All the neighbors love her as well!
Rocky, I wish that I could do your job, I am now a disabled man and can hardly walk. You can see the souls of these animals scared and needing to help.
You are not alone, I too have become disabled and I know that I couldn’t give a dog what it needs. It’s difficult because I know people with disabilities would gain as much as the dog for companionship but I couldn’t fulfil all of their needs. So don’t ever think you’re alone in this situation ❤
There are some rescues or shelters that would let you come and just sit with the dogs and read/pet or just love on them! Just spending time with the dogs is so important!!
I love Dawn’s story. It’s so sweet you all are able to take her home. I wish I could pet and hug all these beautiful babies. I have a special needs dog who has a very rare brain defect that causes seizures and problems with coordination, gait and balance, and behavior. He’s on 11 meds twice a day and prescription food, only hydrolyzed protein. About $700/mos on just meds and food without vet visits. We love him like a member of the family. My heart hurts when I see dogs that you sit with who are mistreated. I can’t imagine someone being cruel like that. I can’t wait to hear more about Macy.❤️🙏🏼❤️
I love these pup dates...i lost my dog and cat (both aged 16) 2 monthd ago and your wonderful videos cheer me up. I'm going on to 84 and feel it wouldn't be fair to adopt again. Love to you and the shelter team from France. ❤❤❤❤
I am a 70 year old widow and have had and worked with dogs all my life, Mainly rescues and one bought pup. I am a dog behaviourist. When my last dog died I too, for several reasons, have reached the very hard decision that I cannot have a dog any more. I do still have one very loving older cat and I am so thankful for her. We can reach the stage where we know we cannot give a dog the life they need anymore and that to take on another dog would be selfish and very unfair on a dog. Others can give you very many reasons why you should have another dog but they do not know all the reasons that lead to one knowing it would be wrong for ones circumstances. So my best wishes go out to you.
I just wanted to say thank you because your videos gave me the understanding and courage to go to my local shelter last week and adopt a new cat! We love her so much and are so happy to be able to provide her a forever home!
Cats are exactly the same. I went on a trip for a number of days, had a cat sitter. She hid the entire time. When I came home and walked in, she went wild. Wouldn't let me out of her sight for weeks after.
Any person who hurts or abandoned a dog. Has a very special place reserved for them. If you think it's a good place to be think again. God bless all who help
Man, I thought Dawn's story got to me- but Casper did me in! I was in tears and overjoyed to see that transformation in him..and to see that he truly got the perfect family! It seems like they are all getting their perfect people tbh! Now onto the next one..a sweet girl boxer! And omg..she is so skinny! I can't wait to see Mila transform into a happy, healthy dog with a loving family! These videos really give me the entire scale of emotions! Overwhelmed and decided again on volunteering or working with animals! Edit: now I'm watching sweet Jenny shaking..such a tiny, sweet puppy who looks so scared and it's making my heard ache!
Microchip: My family adopted two kitties. They have both been microchipped, but we didn't know about making sure the information is up to date. Thanks to you and your channel we are getting their information updated! Thank you!
You've got something a little wrong, Rocky. A new dog isn't a replacement for a dog you loved, it's a successor--its own dog, with its own needs and ways to be happy. You will love Flip forever, the way I love Bug. But another dog will find its own place in your heart.
I agree with you completely, the heart expands to allow you to extend your love. they are not a replacement, they are a continuation, love is an ever growing circle and simply continues to expand
How true ... They are "the one who comes after" "they may not be the dog you want but they are the dog you need". I know I have one I love and wouldn't change for another dog. 😊❤😊
I say getting a pup or kitty after a loss is just filling the void left with the loss. They are all their own furrson and they all deserve their own respect and love.
You can see the sadness on Rocky’s face hearing that poor white pups story. And the pup is so sweet. Thank God for people like these amazing citizens. God bless you all. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I had a senior dog and did not have the money to pay for a surgery( always had yearly checkups, vaccinations and took her when she was sick) was told that either we had to put her down or give her to a shelter. We were told that we would not be able to readopt her and they would not give us any information. If she had the surgery she would be fine . We had to give her up and leave her with the vet . We were all heartbroken, including Sammi . So sometimes this is what happens. It’s maybe taking to the shelter is from love
For future reference reach out to rescues to see if they can help with expenses. Some Humane Societies has low income programs too. Too many animals find themselves in this situation….not because they are not loved and wanted but because of money. I wish more shelters would just work with owners instead of separating families.
FINALLY !!! The Dawn update ive been waiting for ....Was so touched by her story of being abandoned i donated to her fundraiser twice...Ive been hoping so hard her story to end up a happy one....DOUBLE EXTRA YAY !!!!! It breaks my heart to see dogs shake like they do when they are so scared and shut down. I brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for all that you do.
Casper’s eyes were so sad in the beginning and so happy after the adoption!!! That’s great!!!
It's amazing how dogs can show emotion in their faces.
Yes. especially in their eyes.
Their eyes tell so much of their story 🥹
Beautiful puppers that just wants to be loved! ‘Can I trust you!’ Keep cooing 👌
Love Poppy!!
and there's people out there that says that animals doesn't have emotions. smh.
❤❤❤❤ You are the best! You have inspired this 77 yr old Georgian , with our 3 wonderful rescues living in our home and hearts, to visit our local rescue and see just what this i old gal can do !
That paw came to you like she just wanted that so bad! She’s just precious! ❤️❤️❤️
I've fostered well over 100 pit bull puppies, and I agree! 🐾
She's beautiful and those markings on her lower chest!...
Living her best life thanks to you guys
The older dog was so sad...
Cheryl is AWESOME! A volunteer & working her butt off, she is so appreciated ❤
Oh dear sweet Casper, he looks SO tired, i'm crying, oh - he just relaxed and licked your face oh that is JUST ESPECIALLY BEAUTIFUL. OH, it's tears of joy now
He looks traumatized. So sad😢
Yes! Casper is the one who has the same blanket I do!
Jenny touched my heart!! I have a black lab named Mickey!! I love him so! I previously had another lab for 16 years named Nikki. She was my heart! I would’ve taken Jenny in a heartbeat!! Thank you Craig!! And thank you Rocky for all that you do!! ❤
THANK YOU, EMILY FOR ADOPTING DAWN!!! ITS SO OBVIOUS YOU ARE AN AMAZING PET OWNER! 💝
🥺I *never* forgot beautiful *angelic* Casper, seeing human like dark bags of exhausted sadness on him *broke* my heart.😔
❤ I'm so, sooo *thankful* he's been *rescued* & is being *loved* like the *blessing* he truly is.🥲
I love coming here to get my daily dose of love, kindness and humanity. Oh...and cry!😢
Life definitely is better with dogs. Absolutely❤❤❤
I’m in the UK but I love seeing you bringing such comfort into these poor little pooches lives. You’re such a great advocate for them. By the way you have the best chuckle I’ve ever heard 😊
Yes yes yes please continue with the pup date. Since I can’t dog walk due to a stroke, they are my entertainment.
Yes!!! Pupdates are the best!!🎉❤😅!!! I especially LOVE seeing the pups in their new homes where they are so comfortable and happy!!!😅😊❤
It's free to give love but to the recipient it's priceless ❤
I have 15 dogs of different ages and 3 different breeds. They all have their own personality and feelings. Yes I said feelings. Some people don't think that animals have feelings but they do. When they feel that you are a good person they can and will always be your best friend.
I’ve cried my eyes out today, I took on a horse that’s really sick, and it is so hard to see them broken. You made me smile, you give me faith that there is folks out there that loves them as much as me. I got the Vet doing a farm call Monday, please pray for Tulsa, he’s got to get through this. Y’all are in my prayers.
❤❤Thank U for being a rescuer; I grew up with horses here in SW Oklahoma & love Tulsa's name.
Do you have a channel by chance so I can watch Tulsa's rehab??❤
❤🙏❤Prayers for you & Tulsa n thank U soo much for being a rescuer❤
Am curious if you might have a channel so I can watch Tulsa's rehab?
Being from Oklahoma, I love Tulsa's name❤🙂❤
Hey Rocky! You are the most incredible person I’ve ever seen.
After five years of watching you, you’ve inspired me to rescue my dog, Huey, and I couldn’t have made a better decision. I continue to watch you as I try to grow a dog channel and hope the best for you in the future!
Yay! Hi Huey 👋
@@rockykanaka How is Forrest doing? Hope you can do a pupdate on him soon.
@@rockykanaka Hi Rocky . I just found you last week and now I watch obsessively on
UA-cam , your web etc.
I just can’t even with Poppy’s pittie/boxer face!!! So cute!
Me too! I feel like he would
I lost the dog of my heart 3 years ago and I still miss her every day 💔. It took a year before I was ready for another dog.
I fostered one for a while, which helped.
Thank you for fostering. I bet it helped you both.
I'm sorry i know how hard it to lose your dog❤
Often times when he does the affirmations it feels like he’s talking directly to my heart!
I hadn't thought about what happens to my pets when I die til I saw an attorney mention to put them in the will
Thank you for all you do- when you asked her “do you need help” I burst into tears. If we all asked that question one dog, cat, human once a day - the world would be such a better place. Thank you for the reminder of why we are on this earth- to LOVE & HELP❤❤❤❤
Dogs are a superior species, they give us human beings the opportunity to improve and be better.
I lost my soul dog last month, it was the hardest gut wrenching pain Ive ever experienced. I get comfort watching your series, thank you Rocky!
I have a boxer granddog that belong to my daughter and son-in-law. There is nothing like an excited boxer happy to see you. His whole backend wiggles. And I get my whole face washed each time I see him.
Casper filled my heart.
Dogs are much more worthy of our love than we are of theirs.
So wonderful that this precious dog Casper got such a perfect home!
Soooo happy to hear the good news about Casper and so glad he is happy and doing well in a good home❤ God bless John and his wife.
omg. the one about Dawn brought tears to my eyes,
THANK YOU, JOHN & FAMILY FOR ADOPTING CASPER! HIS EYES ARE SO HAPPY NOW!!! 🤩
Thank you to Rocky and the people who work with him, to the lady shelter employee who helped Casper (the white dog ... Dobo Argentina?) to open up, and to the adopters who are giving him a good, loving home and family.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do. It is devastating to see any animal so sad, scared, and depressed.
Star is so beautiful! Her eyes are the same color as her coat. She is sweet even though she is in pain. She is Such a beautiful color. I hope/pray her new owner loves her well!
WOW Estoy tan feliz por Casper, merece ser amado. Gracias John por darle una nueva oportunidad de tener una familia humana y una nueva manada.
Dude, you were born for this. Thank you for all that you do, someday I hope to have a rescue, a rescue sanctuary that is
My dog now and my dog before where shelter dogs.
Love hearing all the pup dates! Kelly should do more sitting with the dogs. She's a natural!
You have gotten 4.21 million views in a little over 4 hours. You KNOW that someone is going to adopt all these beautiful doggies! I wish we had someone like you in the Houston Texas area.
Bernadette thank you for giving Libby her loving home!🙏🏽
So happy when I saw Casper with his new family! 😂❤
What a sweet dog! So wonderful that she is happy…Meela!
Love the pupates to see how they have got homes ❤❤❤
Casper is such a sweet dog. So happy for this family to give a forever home ❤❤❤
Dawn having her puppiccino! Sweetest thing ever!!!🩷☀️🪻
so happy for casper to get a fantastic home!
Poppy is the name of my little yorkiepoo that I adopted from a picture on Petfnder. We have had our little girl for 8 years and we are in love with our Poppy. All the neighbors love her as well!
Thank you Emily for taking Dawn home. You two are obviously made for each other!❤️
Rocky, I wish that I could do your job, I am now a disabled man and can hardly walk.
I hope you can find something with dogs while you are disabled. I am too and I have 2 dogs and 3 cats.
You can still foster!
My parents are 80 and 65 and still adopt!
Perhaps a senior dog?
The Pupdates are most definitely appreciated and enjoyed! Even as a newcomer to “Sitting With Dogs”, attachment happens quickly with these sweet ones.
I just wanted to say thank you because your videos gave me the understanding and courage to go to my local shelter last week and adopt a new cat! We love her so much and are so happy to be able to provide her a forever home!
😢 Now, crying happy tears, seeing Casper is adopted!
I've never seen a human with so much love or life in their eyes as a dog...
I LOVE DOGS!
Yes ! Please keep the pupdates coming!❤
All that these babies need is a lil love! Casper has a family that’s just right for him. Thank you John!❤️
Thank you , vet John and wife .
You are angels.
Caspar is the luckiest dog in the world
Microchip: My family adopted two kitties.
My first dog ever, was boxer when I was about 5yrs old. I'm in my sixtys now. I absolutely love them.
You can see the sadness on Rocky’s face hearing that poor white pups story. And the pup is so sweet. Thank God for people like these amazing citizens. God bless you all. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Watching Dawn bouncy walk shows just how much love has helped her - not just love but love was the key
Thank you, Rocky, for giving these precious souls love and for trying to help them.
In the process, you also gave me a smile.
Thank you for loving your dog so much you knew you had to give her up to help her. It doesn't hurt any less but you did the right thing.
For future reference reach out to rescues to see if they can help with expenses. Some Humane Societies has low income programs too. Too many animals find themselves in this situation….not because they are not loved and wanted but because of money. I wish more shelters would just work with owners instead of separating families.
Geez, I would beg borrow or steal to fix my dog. Obviously you can't get a credit card?
@@nicoledarling9646 I'd rather die myself than lose my precious cat-daughter.
Did you explore other possibilities, your “old” dog was most likely euthanized, without your comforting presence?!
Thank You to Rocky & ALL the animal angels EVERYWHERE! ❤🌠🇱🇷🌍
When you started singing This Little Light of Mine... the tears were flowing 🥹🥹🥹
So crazy with the Doggo, he/she opened up and gave ‘all love’ when his friend came in. Dogs are so, so cool.
FINALLY !!! The Dawn update ive been waiting for ....Was so touched by her story of being abandoned i donated to her fundraiser twice...Ive been hoping so hard her story to end up a happy one....DOUBLE EXTRA YAY !!!!! You guys are all Angels on Earth. God Bless You all.

You are an angel among us❤ thank you for reminding me what our purpose is- to love & help
First dog is such a pretty bully breed (Poppy) I'm OBSESSED 🫶🥺💔
Emily and Dawn, I love you! I'm overjoyed that you found each other.
