You are so right about 8 year old dogs. We went to the shelter to adopt a dog after my mother died. My 7 year old needed comfort. We went to 11th hour pet rescue. There was the tiniest most beautiful dachshund we had ever seen, cowering in the back of a huge steel cage shivering. As soon as the worker picked her up, her tail started to wag. He put her down and she was like a stuffed animal brought to life. I said, We'll take her. Then the worker said, " She's 9 years old. She has only 1 tooth." She was so skinny because they were feeding her crunchy kibble she couldn't eat. I thought for a split second, but then i said, Who will adopt a toothless 9 year old dog? I have to take her. She was put in the back of the car with my son and she nestled right in. She was a 1 owner dog, whose master had been put in a nursing home. Her name was Camille. So she became the Princess Camille, lol, and boy was she royalty. She dozed on a red velvet bed in front of the fireplace. She came with us on every vacation. Hung around on the dock while my son vaught sunnies and played with the fish. Even when she developed CHF, we traveled with a little o2 tank for her. She lived another 6 years and was 15 when she passed The most precious dog ever I have a 16×20 portrait of her on my wall.
Thank you for sharing your story about Princess Camille. They don't get enough years. But you made her last years the best they could be full of love and sass. ❤❤
I love her. Thanks for changing her name to Honey. She is so expressive. It seems she is in pain emotionally, but yet the gentleness and ability to trust & believe in a human is so apparent. She wants someone to believe in her. You can see amazing potential in this dog
I have been looking for something to do, I can't work, I'm 66 and I need to do something! Shelters make me sad, I usually have to leave because of crying but I'm going to get tough and go ask permission if I can 'Sit with Dogs'! I have raised and trained dogs my whole life until I lost my buddy, my Aussie Bennie which broke my heart. I'm ready to love dogs again, I miss them in my life, so giving love and support to many may be my calling! Or not...we'll see Thanks for your beautiful videos, Rocky, they are so inspiring!
Also very sorry for your loss. I know it will be great for you to open your heart and love dogs again. I had a loss as well in 2022. It was the loss of the dog in my thumbnail photo to the left. the only thing that helped my heart feel a little better was when 6 mos. later my mom encouraged me to go to the shelter, and then I adopted another fur child. My pain is still there, it will always be there, but the difference is now is that there is a furry someone here to hug, care for, love and be happy about.
@@Earthy-Artist I'm sorry for the heartbreaking loss of your darling pet. I still feel the pain of a loss 20 years ago. But it does get better, we are able to love again and heal.
Looks like Bobbi hit the jackpot and doesn't just have doggie brothers and/or sisters but a kitty sister or brother as well! That truly warms this cat and dog lover's heart!
Honey's first video was the first video I saw of yours. My heart went out to her and I hoped her story would end on a good note. Her pupdate was exactly what I had hoped for!!!!! I am so happy she found a family who loves her!!

I think superstition is crap. I love black dogs, cats, or any animal. Black or dark furred animals are my favorite. I guess that comes from my black stuffed scotty dog toy when I was a toddler.
We had that mix and Sammy was the smartest pup I have ever raised! One of my shelter dogs who nobody wanted! Couldn't believe it, he was so funny, made us laugh continuously...
I fell in love with her from Australia. If I was anywhere in America, I would drive there and get her. Have been waiting for her update with so much hope.
I go through 24 lb. bag if food every 10 days for my Great Dane. He is thin with stomach problems too. Everything he eats, he poops out. Worked with vet forever on this and I finally get the best result with no chicken, no grain diet. It's salmon, sweet potato and pumpkin diet. He finally stopped losing weight after that. They are really finicky. You also can't exercise them 2 hours before/after feeding. It takes a schedule.
A couple of months ago we had to move to another house, and because finding a house with a homeowner who accept dogs was so hard my brother decided to give up on blacky a gorgeous german shepherd dog we have, i cried and i got so angry and i told him, no family should be left behind and blacky was our baby, we decided to wait and we finally found a home where we can bring him with us, th rent is hella expensive, 6,000 for a 4 bedroom home but we are all together now, and I'm happy for all of us, we have our dog with us and it's all that matters
I stayed crying happy tears when you gave us the update on Venom/Honey/Puppa. I’m so glad she’s doing so well. What a clever, sweet, good ending for her and her new family!
Rocky I was watching some Shorts videos on UA-cam the other day, and I forget whose channel it was, but she had a little blind wiener dog... She had made a halo for the dog that fastened to the collar... It stuck out past her snout and the dog learned that if the halo ran into anything, the doggie would hear and feel it... Like a walking cane for a dog... I was so impressed!!
Herc's Haven w a s my boarding kennel and I boarded alot of doggies for rescues. I made a halo for Boss who was blind. Get a vest harness, then some 1/4- 1/2 pvc pipe or pex pipe, fill with sand then heat the pipe to bend a halo(circle) shape, also bend each end straight so they can be bolted to the vest. Beautiful Black Girl Dog Honey is such a great name change thank you For adopting Honey that turned into Princess Puppa, so cute a Puppacino is in order.
Dogs are very resilient - not only for physical things but also for psychological. The trust they have even when they’ve gone through awful things just melts my heart. My mum had a dog with 3 legs who adapted so well to it. She was originally their in laws dog and when they both died within 10 days of each other she inherited the dog. She lost her leg because she got freaked by fireworks one night and when someone opened the door to come in, the dog ran out. She ran onto a train track and got clipped by a passing train. She was lucky that someone found her and rushed her to an emergency vet where they operated and contacted my stepdads parents. She coped so well with losing her leg and then a year later losing both of her owners and having to move to a home she had never known away from everything she had ever been with. She lived for another 7 or so years with my mum and was a lovely dog that whole time before she sadly died and then her ashes were brought back home to be reunited with her original two owners 😢.
*Thank you so much* for reporting on Bobbi. I wanted to adopt her but I couldn't make the trip from Texas with my two to check compatibility. I hoped someone else would give her a good home. Thank you to the kind lady who adopted her. I'm celebrating because it worked out well for me too. 2 years ago I adopted a bonded pair of traumatized 11-year-old dogs: a 15 lb. cavalier and a 30 lb. mixed breed. The mixed breed warmed up to me in a few weeks, but not the cavalier. In the last few weeks, the cavalier has -- of her own volition -- come and snuggled up to me for the first time. I had given up on ever getting affection from her, but after two years, there it was. I doubt that would have happened if I had introduced another dog into the pack. So all is well for everyone.
Where is she up for adoption? She's such a sweet girl. You are doing everything so perfectly. We'll find her a place where she NEVER EVER will suffer again!! ❤
Honey has the sweetest eyes ever!! even when she looked scared when you first came in, you can just tell she has the most genuine sweet personality. These dogs deserve the world. My family dog growing up that I was so so close with was adopted from the SPCA after a really sad a traumatic past for her, and she was the most sweet and grateful dog. Thank god for these kind dog rescues. Much love from New Zealand!!
Their fearful looks before adoption shatter one's heart. The happiness seen on their faces when they have a home is priceless. Good people, I'm glad they exist 🙏
So happy for Albert! I was super interested in him but I knew that he would not have been his best with my rambunctious toddler. So happy for his perfect forever family.
I lost my first cat I ever had due to an eviction and sadly couldn't take him with me due to living out of my car. There's not a day that goes by that I don't regret it but it warms my heart seeing how you treat the animals in these updates
Kobe's adoring and hopeful stare, despite blind eyes, is irresistible! It must be hard for him to anticipate a loving touch, but still get startled when there is suddenly a hand on his head, I bet he instantly regrets flinching, but has not yet figured out how to move right back in so he can welcome the touch. You are so used to hanging with all kinds of dogs that your movements are automatic in a safe setting, and especially in your own office with your beloved pet, so I see you reach out before you're conscious of it because you're trying to concentrate on filming. There must be a gentle way of giving your hands a sound or smell that is different from the rest of you! Something that Kobe can learn to recognize as your hands moving, like a bracelet that crinkles slightly, or even a ring with a part that always seeks a level. Perhaps a nail/cuticle oil that can be applied once or twice a day, with just enough of a distinct scent that you can live without it intruding on your nose, but that Kobe's much more sensitive nose can smell for hours, even if you eash your hands once or twice. I am no expert, and have never seen a product like that for sale, but one ir both of my dogs went blind, I would even be willing to wear a couple of bangles on each wrist, or a dab of perfume on that pulse point on the inside wrist as we women often do, anyway, and then observe the dog closely until I felt sure that the dog could sense my hands getting within immediate reach and opt in or out.
Such a beautiful, good, sweet girl. Thank you so much for helping her feel better and be with her beautiful, good brother ❤❤❤ Bless Mel for her loving heart in helping these two. And MORE Blessings for their new family. Just perfect ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I pet my dog Simon for this whole video. I shelter adopted him 14 years ago, after mourning my 19 year old's death the year prior, and he is my little old man now. Our dog friends grow old and die, and we never stop loving them, because they never stop loving us. What joy God has paired with us humans. I pray the Peace of the Lord upon you and all these dogs.
Going live with him Thursday. Bean is resting. We don't have enough information yet to know if the surgery will work and if he will be able to keep his leg but will keep everyone updated as we get more info.
@@rockykanaka Thank you so much for answering. Just watched your "live pupdate." And can hardly wait for my coffee pods to arrive. God bless you and Kelly. ♥️🙏
Years ago, I rescued and rehomed a sweet dog that had been saddled with the name Tyson, which did not suit him (whether it refers to the boxer, or the massive chicken processor). I renamed him Toby.
I love pup dates. I loved Scobby and Albert. I fell inlove with Albert's eyes. I had to hold bsck the tears on how thin Scobby was. Thank you and thank.the families that adopted them.
I LOVE Honey and pray she's in the best home EVER! 😘 Her sweet beautiful eyes. She reminds me of a dog I had. So beautiful! I also hope little Beanie is recovering from his major surgery. Thank you Rocky for all you do! You are a REAL SUPERHERO!!!! 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘

Thanks for all the good news about these cuties, i love them all and be pleased that they found loving homes ❤❤❤ thank you so much Rocky for beeing their voice 😊😊😊
I can't believe there have been zero updates on Bean. You've got to be kidding me! We are all invested in him, donating money and caring ... but you just leave us hanging. C'mon.
Quite a few years ago in Oz, the government made it mandatory for landlords to allow pets in their rentals in order to halt the overwhelming number of pet surrenders due to change of address pet issues. As a pet lover I thought you would love this for animals.
Absolutely love watching the happy pupdates you give us on these poor dogs who seem so scared, sad and almost like they've given up on life, until the amazing work you and the shelter do for these pups @Rocky. Thank you for all you guys do for them and for helping them find their forever homes. Sending you all love from Bolton, Greater Manchester, UK 🇬🇧
It’s so nice to see you bring these pups’ personalities out. My baby was one of the types cowering in the back, not even lifting his head. That day, I had gone to every kennel and talked to every dog. He was about 3/4 the way in. I still talked to all the other dogs, even though I knew I’d bring him home. He’s the biggest baby and wants all of his mommy’s attention. 😂 It’s been phew.. about 8 years now. I promised him he’d never find himself without a home again. Just like his sisters (1 dog, 2 cat siblings).
I love Honey! She’s so sweet, despite being abandoned, given up on. I hope she gets to a loving home one day. It’s amazing, seeing all these dogs’ transformations- form forgotten, broke, given up on, to these sweet, loving pups! I love what you do.
Came for the Honey update and loved it!!!! Love the Bobbi update, I remember her initial episode and she was so precious. This is my Butters Gitcha week celebration and agree with Rocky, she’s absolutely the best. Love her with all my heart.
Just came from Honey’s/Puppa’s first video. Cried watching that one and hearing that she is on her way to being a service dog instantly brought more tears. These are happy tears now though I’m so happy for her!

Rocky, I’m in London (not Bolivia!) and love watching your work. I love dogs. Learned a lot growing up from my father, he was great with dogs, and everything you’re teaching, I’m able to add to what I know.
Or just rub your hands with a little peanut butter 🙂, they'll know your coming!
Misty and Ash are very beautiful and am so happy for them in their wonderful loving forever home, together !! ❤️ Thank you for your kindness ❤️ ✝️
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE tell us about Bean! 🐶
Going live with him Thursday. Bean is resting. We don't have enough information yet to know if the surgery will work and if he will be able to keep his leg but will keep everyone updated as we get more info.
@@rockykanaka Thank you so much for answering. Just watched your "live pupdate."
And can hardly wait for my coffee pods to arrive.
God bless you and Kelly.
♥️🙏
Do you ship your coffee to Canada 🇨🇦
Kelly is an unsung hero of this channel. I know she puts a lot of work into this ch. Thanks Kelly! ❤
Thanks for letting us know so worried about bean
Congratulations to all the dogs in this video who got adopted! 😄
Years ago, I rescued and rehomed a sweet dog that had been saddled with the name Tyson, which did not suit him (whether it refers to the boxer, or the massive chicken processor). I renamed him Toby.
"Train humans to adapt." I couldn't have said it better myself!!
I have a bonded pair. Separation with them is utter painful chaos. It's traumatizing.
Mine too. Love hurts🥰
Thank you! Honestly though it's all those helping at the shelter doing this day in and day out and all of you supporting that are the real superheroes!
🫠 Thank you so much for these pupdates! It means so much. Love these videos and how they get more homes for these beloved doggos. 💞
Give that man a medal for reading the poem to Albert without crying!
YES, please keep the pupdates coming. The setups are a bit too long as most of us have seen them before. Thanks Rocky
OK, You got me crying now hearing the happy end to Scooby's story. My heartfelt thanks to his new owner !
Thanks for all the good news about these cuties, i love them all and be pleased that they found loving homes ❤❤❤ thank you so much Rocky for beeing their voice 😊😊😊
They feel your kindness, they trust you❤
I believe that
I’m really excited to see Honey!! ❤️ But what about Bean? How’s he doing post-surgery?
The update on honey has me crying. Thank you for saving her!
How’s little Bean?!?
I'd like to know too🤔 I've already asked him but no answer
HOW IS BEAN...❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
I can't believe there have been zero updates on Bean. You've got to be kidding me! We are all invested in him, donating money and caring ... but you just leave us hanging. C'mon.
BEAN????
@@TrueFansiteinvested? He’s an alive being. You’re so rude. Be politer please…
Quite a few years ago in Oz, the government made it mandatory for landlords to allow pets in their rentals in order to halt the overwhelming number of pet surrenders due to change of address pet issues. As a pet lover I thought you would love this for animals.
Adopted a Gertrude😮😂
but that was immediately changed to Georgia.
My cousin Gertrude liked to be called gert or Gertie
Absolutely love watching the happy pupdates you give us on these poor dogs who seem so scared, sad and almost like they've given up on life, until the amazing work you and the shelter do for these pups @Rocky. Thank you for all you guys do for them and for helping them find their forever homes. Sending you all love from Bolton, Greater Manchester, UK 🇬🇧
The sweety with the white toes looks so sad. Venom is an awful name, Honey is much better.
Thank You Rocky, Kelly
the shelter & Mel! ❤🌠
It is so heart warming seeing these furries getting loving homes❤
Thank you Sir, Mr Rocky Kanaka for the compassion n kindness shown to these unfortunate 🐕 dogs which been abandoned or disowned such! Truly enjoying the time you've spent sitting in, befriending n treating with them! Deeply touched n appreciated! GOD BLESS YOU n family always for this kindly deed! ❤ from Singapore , 🙏🇸🇬🙏

I have adopted 3 black cats from shelters in my lifetime, and each of them were so very special!
Diamond In the Ruff. The little shepherd is so beautiful!!
Oooh! I´m so happy Albert (Bertie as I would´ve named him) got adopted!!! And it´s so great that he and the baby will grow up together!
How is bean after his surgery
Yay Misty & Ash....so happy for them.❤❤❤ Beautiful dogs, lucky humans who adopted them & Thank you.❤❤
Hi! I received the coffee mug! Love it! Can’t wait for the coffee.
Keep up the great work!!
brings tears to my eyes when i see a family take in a dog like honey and it helps the family and the dog.
The lady who took in two Malmutes is like a cape wearing hero.
Albert must not have gotten a lot of just being a dog time prior to his new family.
A dog like. Honey 🍯,does not belong in shelter, locked in that cage is not really for them, they’re active dogs, they need exercise and room outside, their active dogs ,they need excercise.I would take if I had more room.😊THANK YOU JENNY😊
For getting the 2dogs,that’s not a place for that breed😢😊
Thanks for saving the dogs and trying to get them 🆕 homes 🏠 ❤😅😊
Rocky, I’m in London (not Bolivia!) and love watching your work. I love dogs. Learned a lot growing up from my father, he was great with dogs, and everything you’re teaching, I’m able to add to what I know. I’ve been waiting to hear about volunteering for months & just got a call about work. Fingers crossed I get the job of my dreams.
Again. Thanks, Rocky (& your team)
Thank you Jenny and your family for saving both of the dogs you guys are awesome !!!
