So how does this work if you have tattoos prior to becoming Muslim. Ive heard if its beforehand than you will be forgiven... or is it that if you have them beforehand it does not matter your still cursed. In other words if you have them no matyer what your doomed? Wouldn't that turn away many that wish to right there wrongs and give there lifes to allah. Some of us come.frk. rough past and genuinely Didn't know right from wrong til later in life when we've gone out of our way searching for answers. Surely if allah is oft forgiving and most merciful, he would understand this and forgive it. Or can someone help me understand this... i want to become Muslim but i have many questions and sometimes feel like im already fried no matter how much i wish i could change my past.

You're right, as Allah is Most Merciful 😊
When a person becomes muslim (takes their shahada), every one of their sins are forgiven instantly. Wiped out. That person becomes as pure as newborn baby, or even better because they keep their good deeds, and newborns don't have good deeds yet. Such is the Mercy and Generosity of Allah ❤

Do not listen to anyone who says you will not be forgiven. Allah will not hold you accountable for ANY sins prior to accepting Islam. This includes any tattoos you've gotten.

@riahraymond thank you for your wisdom on the subject. I was so scared to go to my local masjid and ask to take my shahada for fear I'd instantly be shunned for my tattoos. Now I know that allah has and was and is guiding me to the straight path. I've been reading 10 pages a day of the quran to take my time understanding its information to my fullest extent and slowly trying to work on learning Arabic because eventually I plan on being able to read and recite it the way it should be done. Thank you, brother/sister. I'm not sure your gender and don't be able to come off as offensive. I was going through the roughest time in my life a few months ago and I put my head to the ground and prayed to allah for the first time and asked if allah would help me through my rough times I'd give my life to him and wouldn't take a step unless it was in his name. Slowly, I'm still rebuilding and helping, and I can not believe how amazing allah can truly be. The quran has and is changing my life in so many ways, and I am more and more thankful each and every day that it came into my life

@@Jessica-ym8gk MashaAllah Tabarakallah. Your words were inspiring.. I'm a woman, and any wisdom you have received is from Allah ❤️ As perfect as Islam is, people will still be people. Some "Muslims" may still look at you a certain way because of your tattoos. Pay them no mind. This can be a projection of their own hopelessness in their sins. And you and I both know, the only One we aim to please is Allah, and Allah is not unmindful of how you're striving for Him, because when we walk towards Allah, He moves toward us with a speed greater than it.
By the will of Allah, you take your shahadah, I will be proud to call you my sister 🧕🧕
May Allah continue to guide you. Ameen 🤲
