If his sins outweigh his good deeds, then yes he must be punished unless Allah forgives them.

But he clearly said he is an ocd patient. You don't simply man up to ocd. Have great respect for the Sheikh but I'm afraid I cannot agree with him on this. I sincerely hope he may have missed the part where ocd was mentioned. Otherwise we would like to know if there's a specific ruling for mental disorders like ocd in Islam. Because why else would the Sheikh completely disregard this as a legitimate reason for the person being unable to control his water usage.

I really don’t understand how can this person tell her to leave her husband and break up her family. She has not said if she has children or not. How are the children going to be without their father? I don’t think breaking up a couple who loves each other or a family is God’s well. There’s also a financial issue. She will have to support herself and children by herself. Lastly, if the husband were to accept Islam, it would be under duress, forced to, not because he really believes, but because he wants to keep his family intact and not have another man raise his children and loose his wife. This is not God, this is cruelty. The Bible says if the unbelieving spouse wants to dwell with the believer to let him or her. That is the beauty of the Bible.
