Kudos to Rod Gilfry for not showing off his strong operatic baritone at this achingly tender moment. Both vocalists could have resorted to fireworks but instead chose to be intimate and understated. Gilfry has a magnificent voice. Boggess's trembling, heartfelt embodiment of Maria is so real. Of course, this performance connected with more than the audience. Notice at 2:15 forward how several women violinists steal quick looks at Gilfry, as he sings -- and they play. Now, that's chemistry!
I love how in every song she sings with related to a romantic song she always have a blissful and loving look in her gaze. Such a stunning and beautiful actress.
This is so cute. Rodney Gilfry and Sierra Boggess are singing together. Thumbs up if you cried and smiled at the same time. I wonder if they were nervous to sing this song in front of people on TV.
Sierra is a treasure, and I hope to hear her live someday. This is such a hauntingly beautiful song, and a beautiful rendition. Rodgers had the gift of melody; it poured out of him like a fountain. One of the greatest song composers of all time.
Rodgers also wrote the lyrics for this. It replaced the Rodgers and Hammerstein song, An Ordinary Couple, when The Sound of Music was made into a film.
Christopher Plummer and julie Andrew gave us something good one of the best and romantic songs ever true love between two people to the actors and actresses who passed away my thoughts are with your family you may be gone but not forgotten still a real masterpiece of live music god bless you guys thanks you guys rock way to go im left speechless ❤❤😂😅 !! Joe
Perfectly lovely. Voices are magnificent and both performers are so beautifully "in character" too as Capt. von Trapp and as Maria. Outstanding on all fronts.
Alright, after her run as christine on broadway with norm lewis, SHE NEEDS TO BE IN A REVIVAL OF THE SOUND OF MUSIC. I MEAN HAVE YOU SEEN HER VERSION OF "I HAVE CONFIDENCE". STELLAR!!! She could be a great Glinda too!!!
As long as it is Sierra in singing, it is like being in haven. She is so beautiful, so lovely, so perfect and adorable when she is singing. She is as though, not from this planet. I love her existence.
I listened to this again and I found that it is the level of sound that comes out of my computer that made me react negatively in my first comment. The whole arrangement of this work is totally beautiful!
Just reading a Von Trapp daughter’s book. They did ask the children. The boatswain’s whistle was loud enough to be heard all through the big house, and the kids loved having their own calls. The captain was a warm and loving father. They lived in Austria, but he was from Trieste and didn’t get drafted into the German Navy because he was technically Italian.
Ok, I get it, Sierra Boggess is a singing goddess and whatever she sings is gold. I would just like to bring up how awesome Rodney Gilfry was, that gave me too many feelings...
Maria: Perhaps I had a wicked childhood Perhaps I had a miserable youth But somewhere in my wicked, miserable past There must have been a moment of truth For here you are, standing there, loving me Whether or not you should So somewhere in my youth or childhood I must have done something good Nothing comes from nothing Nothing ever could So somewhere in my youth or childhood I must have done something good Captain: For here you are, standing there, loving me Whether or not you should Maria: So somewhere in my youth or childhood I must have done something good Maria and the Captain: Nothing comes from nothing Nothing ever could Maria: So somewhere in my youth Captain: Or childhood Maria: I must have done something . . . Sierra as Maria. Ramin as the captain (just think about it for a while, it seems weird at first, but it would be perfect and I'm not just saying it because of Ramin and Sierra). It needs to happen.
Nah i can't see RK as "Von Trapp". Maybe in 10 years but not now. However SB would be perfect as "Maria" and in som years as the "Abbess". She defenitely has the right type of voice for it.
Hmmm they could make it work . . . are you talking about another movie adaption or a musical on-stage-production . . . an in-person on-stage production would be best . . . but a movie-adaption will be around longer so that more people would be able to watch it . . .
Ramin would be nice but his voice is too good/overly polished for that character. The Captain is supposed to have a meek, vulnerable quality to his voice. Edit: Though I know he can totally nail the acting that's for sure
Beautiful! She sustained those notes so well even though the song is soo soft- if you've ever tried it, you know it's HARD to do properly. Gilfry's voice is deep and lovely too.
I love Julie Andrews, but I hated that version of this song, so much that I thought I hated the song all together until I heard this version. Now it's one of my favorites. Sierra is a song goddess.
I consider her the rightful heiress to Sarah Brightman in "Phantom", thanks to her killing it in the "25th Anniversary at Royal Albert Hall" show...........
@sarah really, I find the movies version to be the most beautiful one I've heard. This one is good as well but there is just something magical about the movie version. But I'm glad we atleast both agree this song is beautiful

hmmm I still have the original movie adaption in my memory, therefore in my own mind personally, no one will ever top it for this song specifically . . . except a pair who sound like the original . . .
Sierra Boggess is able to strip the drama from the textual implications and present the raw ‘truth’ of the libretto’s humanitarian essence. She does that in the Phantom in such way that this production is reinvented and will never be performed in the old way. From there my only wish has been to see Boggess in the Sound of Music or in Jesus Christ Superstar. I would pay a month salary to hear her perform ‘I dont know how to love him’. But first: Boggess in a remake of the movie of the Sound of Music!!
cere tomer Well.... Some songs are immortalized by certain artists, and for a new artist to come along, and think that they can just wing it, is presumptuous to say the least. Having said however, I do know that everyone's tastes are different, and what may not please me, may well be pleasing to others. As I said.... Sierra and Rodney do a wonderful job, but I have the benefit of being older, and having seen better...lol Comes with age. You will have it also someday.

Good point
I love how in every song she sings with related to a romantic song she always have a blissful and loving look in her gaze. Such a stunning and beautiful actress.
Is there anything this women can't sing? She's brilliant!
HIS VOICE THOUGH. I was not expecting that powerful voice.
This version of Something Good is beautifully performed by two stunning vocalists.
This is so cute. Rodney Gilfry and Sierra Boggess are singing together. Thumbs up if you cried and smiled at the same time. I wonder if they were nervous to sing this song in front of people on TV.
Both of their voices are stunning... Goosebumps!
4 minutes 11 seconds of pure heaven. Thank you all
Sierra and Rodney are both great singing together. Sierra has a lovely voice and so does Rodney.
Wow
The orchestra is amazing. And these two are superb.
My fav R and H.
Love his type of voice.. rich baritone... lovely
they need to make another sound of music movie with sierra boggess as Maria! I would love that!
Sierra is a treasure, and I hope to hear her live someday. This is such a hauntingly beautiful song, and a beautiful rendition. Rodgers had the gift of melody; it poured out of him like a fountain. One of the greatest song composers of all time.

Who will not adore her after hearing her voice?
What a very beautiful young woman with the voice of an angel

😊 simplicity wins the day of interpretation.
i have never heard of either singers, but they did this lovely song proud. wonderful voices.
Perfectly lovely. Voices are magnificent and both performers are so beautifully "in character" too as Capt. von Trapp and as Maria. Outstanding on all fronts.
This is one of my favorite songs from, “Sound of Music”. They sing this romantic and meaningful song so beautifully!
Alright, after her run as christine on broadway with norm lewis, SHE NEEDS TO BE IN A REVIVAL OF THE SOUND OF MUSIC. I MEAN HAVE YOU SEEN HER VERSION OF "I HAVE CONFIDENCE". STELLAR!!! She could be a great Glinda too!!!
totally
Space Gandalf that would be awsome
Wow, this is spectacular.
A revival with this casting would be perfect! I love the two of them and this sounds absolutely lovely :)
I saw him do Oklahoma when he was young in LA- stunning
very good ! A wonderful tune that has stood the test of time. Inspiration for new song writers for sure.
Very very good two wonderful singers
That was like the perfect ending to that song. They're so talented!
beautiful Sierra singing this beautiful song that fits her so well
Sierra has a magnificent Voice!! WoW!!!!!💯💯💯💯
As long as it is Sierra in singing, it is like being in haven. She is so beautiful, so lovely, so perfect and adorable when she is singing. She is as though, not from this planet. I love her existence.
Sierra is a very gifted artist who can capture the essence of the wonders of music and the heart of the audience.
Scrumptious.
Both amazing
Speechless.....x
Wonderful performance
What a beautiful, romantic song from the movie, “Sound of Music”. These two vocalists sing it with passion!
She sings beautifully here. Gee, this is wonderful.
Sierra is amazing!!! What a voice.
This is my fav song from Sound of Music and this is just perfectly done by the lovely Sierra Boggess!!
I listened to this again and I found that it is the level of sound that comes out of my computer that made me react negatively in my first comment. The whole arrangement of this work is totally beautiful!
Rememoramos algo maravilloso!!!! Un espectáculo maravilloso!!! Con voces hermosas y mas tambien!!! No caben las comparaciones!!!
They should've had her play Maria!!!

Wonderful......just beautiful!

제가 이 노래를 좋아하는데 제가 가장 좋아하는 성악가이신 시에라 보게스씨가 불러주시니 너무 아름답고 좋아요❤
she is absolutely marvelous. She should have the career in the US that Kelly O'Hara has. In fact, she should have her career, period.
Beautiful!
Sierra as Maria. Ramin as the captain (just think about it for a while, it seems weird at first, but it would be perfect and I'm not just saying it because of Ramin and Sierra). It needs to happen.

Great singer such feeling in her voice
Just beautiful! This is one of my favorite songs from “Sound of Music”. 🥰👍
Wonderful
Absolutely beautiful.
Heaven on Earth this music.
Beautiful music!
Chillbumps ......
Beautiful! She sustained those notes so well even though the song is soo soft- if you've ever tried it, you know it's HARD to do properly. Gilfry's voice is deep and lovely too.
Beautiful, Sierras voice is simply stunning.
Thank you Maria G. For sharing this beautiful rendition of SOMETHING Good. Oxox,💜🐝
Yep, Sierra should have been picked for Maria in the NBC remake of The Sound of Music
cere tomer pp
Absolutely
Nah, they should pick a real Latina this time to make things right.
@@iliketheodds2575 Oh groannnnn. Another SJW.
@@iliketheodds2575 but the character isn’t Latina???
I love the original but I think this is a fabulous cover, beautiful!
Love it
holysh*t goosebumps
Oh her British accent makes me melt
OK , OK, OK !!! She is beautiful and a wonderful singer ! 👌👌👌😊❤️😘🌹
Sierra is perfect(:
+Philip Meredith but she knew she made the mistakes. Watch her face.
What a romantic song!
Ay love.
So gently gorgeous! I can listen to this over and over again! ❤️❤️❤️
I love Julie Andrews, but I hated that version of this song, so much that I thought I hated the song all together until I heard this version. Now it's one of my favorites. Sierra is a song goddess.
😄 you said that, because my mom really likes Julie Andrews, too.
I consider her the rightful heiress to Sarah Brightman in "Phantom", thanks to her killing it in the "25th Anniversary at Royal Albert Hall" show...........

amen to that
i love how gently she sings this.
She really should play Maria on Bway she is perfect for it.
I. Hope they will make
Another sound of music with Sierra Bogges
Christopher Plummer and julie Andrew were better no question about it one of my favorite songs to listen to thanks take care. Joe
God, she’s good.
This casting would actually work!
[MARIA]
Perhaps I had a wicked childhood
Perhaps I had a miserable youth

AWWWWWWWW~~~~
I agree! A Broadway revival, with Hugh Jackman as Captain von Trapp!!! :)
Sierra's so pretty :)
hmmm I still have the original movie adaption in my memory, therefore in my own mind personally, no one will ever top it for this song specifically . . . except a pair who sound like the original . . .
I'm sensing Phantom of the Opera vibes between those two here. Anyone else?
her british accent is too cute

Forget the NBC version. Hollywood needs to get its inevitable remake of the movie out of its system before Sierra's too old for the part!
Why is everybody quibbling, this is damn good. The girl seems to be copying Julie Andrews, whether consciously or not.
I don't understand how you COULDN'T copy the great Ms. Andrews. it's natural
wish both kissed at the end.
it wud hav been a perfect ending..
Makes me think of Snape
Really? How so?
6 people couldn't recognize music if the sound of it hit them on the head with a frying pan XD
I just realized i hit the wrong button!! Now you have less thumb down!
I see 33 Woker's thumbed down.
Wonderful! But this belongs to Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, and no one else... Sorry!
Yes, but they don't sing anymore. Someone has to carry the torch and I can't think of anyone that I like more than Sierra.
cere tomer Well.... Some songs are immortalized by certain artists, and for a new artist to come along, and think that they can just wing it, is presumptuous to say the least.

Comes with age. You will have it also someday.
Plummers singing voice was talking abit like rex Harrison Julie irreplaceable as nice as this is ,it's not a patch on the film version.
not her best performance, imo, but she's still freaking phenomenal :')
That's the effect John Wilson goes for, he always tries to get singers who sound like the performers in the original movie
