  • Quick and easy Vegan Cheese sauce. Plant-based, Starch- based.
    Best Vegan Cheese Sauce Period!
    2c unsweetened plant based milk
    1c water
    1 roasted red pepper
    1 garlic clove
    1/3 c. raw cashews soaked in hot water for 15min. Discard soaking water.
    1/4 c. nutritional yeast flakes
    1 c. Idaho Spuds - instant mashed potatoes
    1 TBSP rice vinegar
    2 tsp (not TBSP) taco seasoning
    1 tsp salt
    1/8 tsp smoked black pepper or smoked paprika
    Note: 1/3 c Tahini, white beans, or cauliflower can be used in place of cashews.
    Directions:
    Place plant based milk and water in high speed blender first. Vary the liquids depending on the thickness of the final product. Add rest of ingredients to blender. Blend until smooth and creamy! This sauce is great for grilled cheese sandwiches, Quesadilla's, or creamy Mac and cheese. By leaving out the 1 c of water, this will give you a thicker spreadable sauce.
    Enjoy!

This recipe really is the BEST cheese sauce. The texture and flavor are absolutely delicious. Perfect, even! Brilliant of you to think of using instant potatoes❤😊

    I really like the idea of trying instant mashed in with the cheese sauce. I myself prefer much more garlic and heat lol. Can’t help it I love spice there’s a few things I would do differently but to try the instant mashed potatoes is an excellent idea so thank you very much for sharing this my sister found you and you have two new followers. thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This is so good. I'm always a very big sceptic when it comes to titles like "Best Vegan Sauce" because I have tried so many and they have fallen short. I'm very picky before I consider something a "replacement" for a non-vegan original. But this...holds true to the title. Easy to make, 2 mins blending in my vitamix and it was warm and smooth...so good. I have a new go to recipe for this. Next time I will keep it a bit more thicker and try for wraps.

For myself rather than adding more liquid it seemed about correct except I did think the 1cup of flakes seemed a lot. I haven’t made it yet but it looks what I’m looking for. I’ll start off with 1/2 cup. I’m glad you brought that up. I also saw on another channel there is PB2 cashew powder. Whaaaat? I’ll be getting some of this. @Gerard I use corn tortillas. I used my pizza cutter to cut strips. Next, I placed them in the air fryer for about 10 min @ 350 degrees. For an add touch of flavor, sprinkle taco seasoning over the warm chips. Reminiscent of Dorito's. Thanks for stopping by!😀

    I’ve made a cashew based vegan cheese sauce for my non-vegan family, and it got ate up! Good is good, including vegan. I haven’t tried the potato variety (some even use carrots), but I will.
    How deeply have you gone into the ethical aspect of veganism? Indeed, I agree that vegan IS an ethical disposition, while healthy wfpb is the food/diet aspect. If the ethics are locked in, all temptation to hold onto old patterns will dissipate. What we do to animals for meat, dairy and cheese is absolutely appalling.

    Ok my best tip? Try a few teaspoons of VEGAN lactic acid, its made from beets but, you would swear all creams sauces cheeses. It will amaze you! Also there is a product out called JOI (just one ingredient) instead of tahini for lower speed blender? They carry cashew and almond products i justed using them and they're very concentrated, 1-2 tablespoons to a cup of water even makes plant milk it's shelf stable for a year, a great sub for blended nuts at 50% the quantity called for in a recipe!

    • @chickpeaslentils1581
      @chickpeaslentils1581  2 роки тому +1

      @Cheryl I just saw a UA-cam video last night using the vegan lactic acid to make cheese. I bet this would take my cheese sauce to the next level! My guess is the powdered nuts are like the powdered peanut butter. I heard Chef AJ say she uses the Almond powder to make her Almond milk. Great tip! 😀

    • @cherylshort5005
      @cherylshort5005 2 роки тому

      @@chickpeaslentils1581 you will need much less vegan lactic acid than than lemon juice or vinegar, tsp or 2 NOT tablespoons! Also, I add a pinch of nutmeg to all things creamy and oddly all dark leafy greens even cabbage it leaves no nutmeg taste but boosts dairy taste and removes bitterness from greens, and smell from cabbage.
      Niw for the JOI? I thought powder too, but no - its finely ground super concentrated, almond or cashew to the point it looks like a thinner organic peanut butter! Not a powder its wild it has no preservatives but is shelf stable a year even if opened! And I love making nut milks no straining and a cup or a quart super easy and handy. As buying plant milk in store is crazy priced and may kt use it all! I love your channel, I don't have the nerve to video myself lol, so I have nothing but a small page on fb called Star Muse's WFPB NO Creations,you are welcome to borrow change tweak anything for yourself anytime!
