My wife and I have rode over 300,000 miles on two wheeled motocycles, but after her cancer went to her brain and caused seizrues we went to a 2020 teal Tri Glide. We put 21,000 miles on it and traded it in on a 2021 billiard red Tri-Glide. My wife has battled cancer eight times, maxed out on chemo, radiation, and cyber knife treatments. She's had 12 surgeries in ten years and is currently on Immunotherpy treatments every 28 days and will be for the rst of her life. These days she walks with the aid of a walker because the radiation she had in 2011 ruined the blood flow to her hips. She's had one hip replaced with a total hip replacement but she had brain surgery two months after her hip surgery to remove some cancer and that's like recovering from a stroke. Even after all her health issues she walks out in the garage with her walker, climbs up on our trike and we go for a ride every day the weather permits. There is no way she could ever climb on a two wheeled motorcycle without knocking it over, so thanks to the Harley Davidson Tri-Glide we are still riding and enjoying every journey.
I lost my wife to cancer back in March after 10 years of fighting, stem cell transplant, chemo, radiation. I'm adding you both to my prayer list. I just watched your video on the Tri-Glide. My darling didn't like motorbikes, but I don't think she'll mind 3-wheels. After all, she did make me promise to live a joy-filled life. For me, the ingredients for doing that are simple. 1. The Lord. 2. A motorcycle. I've rationalised that if I don't sieze the day and follow her wishes, I'll be in trouble when my time comes to head to the open roads way up yonder... I can't ride on 2 wheels any longer due to a spinal issue, but Fuzzy Biker and the Veteran Biker have convinced me on the Tri-Glide. (I've always been a Triumph fan, but HD are the only manufacturer to actually build a purpose-built trike.) My plan is to purchase a late model Tri-Glide in the USA and then import it home to New Zealand, after doing the obligatory cross country tour! If I purchase from Loess HD, I'll be sure to mention (again!) that it was thanks to Fuzzy Biker's glowing reference. Finding a Tri-Glide in New Zealand (unless you want to pay NZ$64,000 for a new one!) is virtually impossible. I've managed to find two, and while one has a low mileage, it's also over 10 years old. Keep a weather eye open for me from May-June. Don't know where you are in the USA but if you see a big guy with a Kiwi accent and a walking stick on a Tri-Glide, that will be me! You two will be in my prayers.
Congratulations :-) this motorcycle is close to the top of my want list. Would love to have one with a 103 or an M8. The 103 is an excellent engine. Wahoo!
I have this same trike -- 2018 with that color combo. I love it! It's the ultimate highway motorcycle but it's also super convenient for just shopping and running errands on a daily basis. Yes, it is great in the rain. I ride it in any weather except icy roads.
That was the first track I ever drove. Was absolutely impressed with how well it did. It was sporty, powerful and a lot of fun to ride. And you're right, that truck makes it practical too. Wahoo!
Harley Davidson knock it out of the park with the TriGlide. The new models are equipped with the 114 and deliver plenty of power. If you desire to get more out of the power plant, upgrade it to a Stage II and you will love the throttle response and performance. Also, install a 1.5” lift kit in the rear and it feels like power steering at your finger tips. These Trikes are so much fun because they are the ideal machine for touring. Plenty of storage space, comfort, visibility on the road to other drivers, and the added stability while gliding down the road. Remember you aren’t riding free unless you’re on three!!!
I really like mine . The only thing I can think of is when I hit a bump or a dip on the road the back end doesn’t have much give and it will send you off the seat and lower back hurts. I only wish I could have a more forgiving back end. Other than that it’s good trike.
We put legend coil-over shocks and height/equalizer brackets on our 2014. The brackets raise the rear about an inch and eliminate the brake-side rear sag you sometimes see on the older tri-glides. The ride is so much better and no more exhaust scraping (so far)...
We used to have a 2014 HD Tri-Glide. My Wife has back problems, and every slight bump we went over gave her a great deal of pain! We now have a 2014 Can-Am Spyder RT Limited. She has not felt one bump and loves being a pillion on the Spyder! The Can-Am Spyder RT Limited blows the HD Tri-Glide out of the water in smooth riding quality, and that is with it's stock suspension! Safe Travels.🙂🏍🇨🇦
I have always wondered why the front tire on a Trike is not the same as the rear tire because you don't lean on curves with a trike so why not have a regular front tire? because regular two-wheel bike tires will only wear out in the center contact area of the tire on the road and will not last as long as a regular wide tire. unless it's because it makes it better to steer.
I have a feeling you're right about front tire. A larger tire would be harder to steer. I think you're also right about the wearing out in the center. I'll have to keep an eye out for things like that and future bikes.
That is information they seem to guard and only provide to buyers making a purchase. Best one could do was go to their website and get the MSRP and added fees to use as a guideline. It's hard to pin them down on these things.
Not too long ago I would have agreed with you whole heartedly. However, after taking a few of these for a spin I've decided that they are fun but in a different way than motorcycles. I would never give up two wheels but would love to have one of these nifty machines. Take one for a ride and see what you think. Wahoo!
@@critterIMHO I'm on my second TriGlide and I've never had any problem braking and turning at the same time. I put 21,000 miles on my first trike and over 10,000 on my current one. I would rather ride a two wheeled motorcycle, but if you read my earlier comment you will see why I ride a trike. We tried Cam Am Spyders and Gold Wing trikes and hated the way they handled. The HD Tri-Glide handled much better. I did have a friend who rode a Gold Wing trike and while turning on a side road flipped it upside down in a ditch and died. Did your friend have a Gold Wing trike?
Harley Davidson manufactures a Trike for several reasons. One of the biggest reasons are for those who can no longer ride two wheels. Therefore, extending their riding life and getting that much needed wind therapy. Before criticizing the Trike, think about your future cause eventually most of us will get older and will continue to want to ride. The Trike fills that void.
@@bigjohnson9561 I agree with your statement above about the trike extending the years of riding. However, I was very surprised by how much fun the trike was to ride regardless of age. I love these things. Thank you 🤠
@@forgottenmotorcycles Thank you for posting. I've done what you suggested and contacted Loess HD and asked for Jimi. I told him you sent me. Have to agree. After realising my back would no longer allow me to ride two wheels, I sadly sold my Speedmaster Goldline, but couldn't shake the feeling God wasn't finished with me on motorcycles. I've heard good things about the Can-Am Spyders but they aren't a motorcycle. As for the Gold-wing, it depends on the trike kit you buy. My research has taught me that the "clip-on" kits (with three wheels at the rear) are a no-go. If you stick to Hannigan or CSC, they do great builds, but the price is way too high. Therefore it makes sense to lean towards a Harley. Also, they look almost as cool as Triumphs, and sound much more grunty than the 270º parallel twins.

What year is this ?
Rear blinkers? What is the story on them ?

The newer ones did not go back to cable

In CA, I think the good thing is you don’t need a motorcycle license to ride this
Interesting.
I would take the fobs out of the tour pack because they could drain the battery via the security system.
You are correct about that. Happened to a friends Road king.
