    At 74, I love my 24 tri glide.
    It took me about 1000mi to get to know how to handle.

      That’s the thing, with more time I’m sure it would come much more naturally to me. But I only get around 30 or so miles on the ride. I really need some good time and mileage with one to be more proficient in trike handling

    Like with anything Harley, it’s options, options, and did I say options? At least the 24 RGU comes with LED’s up front but I highly doubt, out back. The RG3 because of the Shark nose has LED’s up front but not out back. The Freewheeler has No LED’s. I know because we have a 23 Freewheeler that didn’t come with LED’s that we added thru Custom Dynamics. There you have an excellent choice of lights, and they all come with a lifetime warranty. We put a luggage rack on the back and there’s a brake light for that too. An excellent investment no matter your trike choice is a brake light “strobe” from Custom Dynamics that’s plug and play into the rear lights. You can set it to whatever strobe type or time length, which will go a long way in the safety dept. With that out of the way, we love our FW, and use it almost daily for short trips and maybe the odd weekender as it’s trunk(like the RG3) is somewhat limited. They’re a blast specially for those who have some physical limitations that keep them off 2 wheels. The trike is a great option to get your knees back into the breeze. For those who say they’d never get on a trike, bet them a grand that when the time comes they won’t just quit riding but will hop on a trike.

      @@gh4121-b5n trikes are excellent options to keep people riding! And I rode the freewheeler (video on that soon) and loved it even more than the tri-glide. Would still take the tri-glide for touring but the freewheeler was so much lighter and more “fun” for just riding around on a little bit faster. I’m with you on the LED’s. Installed them on my Harley 1275 project bike and they make a world of difference when it comes to visibility. Didn’t do the brand you did, but similar concept.

    Those are communication ports, not heated gear..
    As for TG vs RG3…if the RG3’s trunk was flat ( like the Street Glide trike in 09 ) I would have purchased the RG3 instead of the TG…but as a touring motorcycle, the trunk is a requirement for me. I think eventually the TG will have the option for a shark nose fairing..hope anyway

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  2 місяці тому

      Thank you for the correction on the port identification! I like your way of thinking with a shark nose fairing on the tri glide ultra. That would be the way to go. If I get a trike a large reason is for the trunk space. So the others just don’t make sense, but I greatly prefer the look of the Road Glide 3.

    No luggage rack no chrome bumper . 24’s aren’t woke but 25’s will be. Not going to shoot my evo or mil8 like some morons.

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  23 дні тому

      The no luggage rack is annoying - I also think they should include a tow hitch. It’s their premium touring machine. Most expensive stock ride they make, what’s a couple hundred dollars more at this point? Just put EVERYTHING on it so there’s nothing left to add. I think people would go for that. We’re just tired of being nickled and dimed but all these motorcycle companies to add features to a bike. They all do it and it’s very annoying. Someone needs to make a fully loaded bike and call it a day.

  • @lvtony22

    as you can tell im thinking bout buying this bike, your video was great. Last question, does it have heated grips?

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  2 місяці тому

      I don’t believe it does, as a standard option. It is an option that can be added of course. I also test rode the freewheeler which will be in an upcoming video, and they weren’t on there either. So it’s an optional upgrade I’m pretty sure. I did heated grips on my bike myself. You just buy the grips and they usually plug directly into the handlebar controls that are pre-wired for them.

    Great video!! Im an older rider and short, I normally ride a Road king special in the uk but I ride on my own all the time. I’m looking to do the Route 66 next year with my wife and I’m a bit concerned about having her on the back over such a long trip, especially as I’m not as strong as I used to be and although I can hold the bike up fine on my own, I don’t feel too confident with the additional weight of my wife.
    Do you think the trike will be a good option so we can both enjoy the trip and feel more confident? Also do you think the trike would be suitable for completing route 66?
    I’m from the UK and this will be the first time riding in the states so want to make it as enjoyable and memorable as possible for us both?
    Thanks for your help!! 👍

      You couldn't have asked me at a better time. I just finished Route 66 and several national parks before sturgis. My Route 66 video will be ready hopefully by this Sunday!
      To answer your question: I am considering a trike myself for those very reasons. For longer trips it's taxing to carry a second person and deal with the weight and increased handling needs of the bike. I did the trip solo, but I thought about "what if" I bring my wife next time - and my mind went immediately to a trike. Route 66 doesn't completely exist anymore. It does for about 90% of the way, the other 10% is now on the highway "it's still Route 66" but it's not really. It's been laid over with modern roadway. On the flip side, there are parts of Route 66 that are so old and not traveled anymore that there are weeds growing up 2 feet high out of the middle of the road!
      Reason I say all this: It's a long ride. One of the greatest adventures I have ever had. The terrain, the environment, and the road conditions will change drastically from start to finish. I think your idea of the trike is an EXCELLENT idea. Stable on the rougher sections of road, good suspension, less fatigue for you, more secure feeling in the back for the wife, good storage to bring along clothes you'll need for the changes in the environment.
      Last little piece of advice I will leave for you - I've recently created a website which I will link here. On there, there is a section called 'Adventures' with destinations and maps. I just started the website, and I'm a one-man operation so I'm not fast, but I will have a lot of maps and location information and places to visit from my 7200 mile trip around the U.S. including my time on Route 66. It will go up on there as I have time to do it over the next couple months, along with videos of my trip here on my channel. So hopefully that can provide you with a lot of useful information for planning and help you along the way. If I can be of any further help, ask away! I hope you enjoy your trip as much as I did! www.motoblade.co

      Heck yeah! Why wouldn’t it be? Need a grocery run or heading to the office? Plenty of trunk space. Carry two people easily. Don’t have to worry about stability in wet conditions- you got 3 wheels! Trikes (in my opinion) are far more practical than motorcycles, unfortunately they are also more expensive so that is a mark against them.

That video is on my list to get up in a few weeks. It’s much lighter, and less storage. More of a “fun” trike in a way, but I wouldn’t go touring with it - no fairing for the highway and not enough storage for me. Just my personal preference. I’d go tri glide ultra or rg3 for touring.
