windsurfed1 . The trunk guard / bumper is highly recommended by me too . I reversed too far on our drive and hit the double gates and the trunk guard saved the trunk etc on my trike . No damage to my trike at all . I think it really compliments the rear of the trike and makes it complete. No problems too with lowering the trunk lid . I had a BMW R1200 RtSe before I got the trike and found it too heavy with being loaded up and my wife Debbie on the back and loved the looks on the Tri Glide and decided to get one . Hum, sounds like you did some modifications that maybe I might do in the future. To each his own. I am not a fan of Harley Davidson. But this was my choice and I do like it. Hopefully this will be my last motorcycle before I expire.
Very cool! Great video. You are really making me want to buy a Harley trike. I just recently sold my 2009 Road King and bought a really nice 2006 Heritage Softail from a friend. I sold the R.K. because it had gotten too heavy for me after my bilateral knee surgeries and I was starting to be afraid of dropping it every time I came to a stop or made a sharp turn at slow speeds. The Heritage seems perfect for now, light and nimble, but at 66, I'm thinking of the future and want to ride as long as possible. My next bike will most definitely be a Harley 114" trike!😁👍
Bike getting too heavy, almost 66 (september), losing my edge, losing my balance. Fell over last spring. (2020) All of these contributed to my decision to buy a HD Triglide. I want to be able to ride much into the future. So I know how a lot of guys are thinking at our age. I wish I would have done it 10 years ago. So much more relaxing. Only problem is, $$$$. Even for a used one. I had to pay and arm and a leg, Hocked my house, and sold my children into slavery just to get one. I wasn't much of a HD fan to begin with. They do make a quality motorcycle though, and quality accessories. You get what you pay for! I think I got a great bike that will last a long time. I just bought it in July of 2020 and have over 10,000 miles on it. I never even got close to riding that much in my life. I guess that tells you something! Anyway I'm enjoying the heck out of it.
@@windsurfed1 Ray, you described what I did, sold my '09 RKC but I didn't replace it. I'll buy a 2023 TriGlide Ultra when they come out. We must be brothers (grin)...

have you look into the Harley cooling fan for it? made a huge difference on my 5ft tall wifes 2020 tri glide, she dang near burnt her jeans off but now the fan pulls the heat back and down to the road has a on off switch $250 plus labor.
Good to hear that someone has a positive view of that cooling fan. I also have been thinking about putting Jim’s forced fan on there also just for fun do you have any thoughts on that
Really great and informative!! I cant seem to find anyone to buy my kids for slaves, so havent figured financing yet!! But I'm 61 and want to get back riding after40 years. After a stroke and 6 back surgeries....I was still looking at 2 wheels, but I don't know. This makes the most sense. Thanks for the vid!!
Glad you could use some of the information in the video. If you ever get a trike you will never look back. I should have done it 10 years ago. Sounds like you had some major health issues. Hope you are recovering ok. Trikes cost quite a chunk of change. Preventing many people from purchasing. That’s a shame because they fit many a lifestyle.
I am 74 and I bought a TG because a regular bike became very heavy, like the video says. Now I am on my 2nd trike and I liked some of the accessories. Thanks for the tips.
@@Grandcapi Glad the video could maybe help you. I am going to do an updated accessories version here in the next couple weeks as I have had way too many accessories that I don’t need but I thought they were cool. This is my first trach at 865 I should have bought one 10 years ago.
The best accessory I have is a garage door opener..you flip the high beam switch to open the garage door..Harley sells them. No longer need to get off bike and use a keypad
It's a cheap alternative. And it does work. The shield will get very warm to the touch but you leg is still able to keep it's natural position on the running board.
Hello, I'm going over your video with a fine tooth comb getting the names of the upgrades that I'd love for my trike could you please tell me What is the name of the cellphone holder, I love how yours is high & it seems to angle where you'd like it, I've tried many and so far I haven't found one that I love
Thank you so much for this video, I'm a new rider & my trike is my first bike so I love getting ideas, your video gave me ALOT of great ideas so again Thank you so much for posting this 👍🏼❤️
Almost any welding shops have them. I ended up buying about five or six of them, but I decided I didn’t need 2 so I put them on eBay. If you’re interested, but again, you can pretty much get them at any welding shop.
I just was not a fan of the dash pouches as they took away some of the view through the windshield and besides that I had so much storage I just really didn’t need any more
An excellent run down on your additions/mods - Many thanks. Well thought out practical solutions. Question: Have you come across a relatively inexpensive rear 'bumper' or similar solution to protect the rear end?
That is the one thing that I have not really been interested in is the rear bumper. However I did back up to the curb the other day and fortunately it went under and scrape the pipe gently but still I have not researched into a rear bumper
I know. They are outrageously expensive. I have also noticed even the used ones are high. All the accessories are expensive too! Fortunately I inherited a little bit of money that allowed me to afford one. I rode 2 wheelers for many many years. Finally fell over that’s when I decided I needed to trike. Probably my last motorcycle.
@@windsurfed1 I hear you I'm probably about the same age as you I recently made an add on trike kit for my '93 Goldwing It's awesome love it everything you said at the beginning was me! Definitely a more relaxing a ride!
Bought them off of Amazon. But you can find them on eBay also they are kuryakyn 5208 lower fairing panel door pockets with magnetic closures cost about $70
The bars were not that expensive I think they were about $144 but the labor was $706. if I had it all over to do again I would do it myself. I had them do it because I was not comfortable digging into the motorcycle because it was brand new. But now that I know this Motorcycle I would do almost everything now myself
Great video, I'm saving this one as there is quite a few upgrades that caught my eye..... Q for you... Where do you purchase those heat sheilds? I have a 2011 harley trike (103) & it burns my leg, I desperately need one of those cause on summer days it's way too hot to wear chaps & I really don't want to spend money on half chaps when I technically only need one
I bought mine online from Amazon. Or eBay. You can also get them at any local welding supply store. Get as big as ones as you possibly can. Usually the ones at the welding supply store are fairly small. Mine are “BSX” aluminized back pad. One cost around $19. But I have seen them for as cheap as $12
Ebay about 1/2 price. The Foot peg rest them selves you can buy from HD. Rather Spendy. Aftermarket on ebay for about 1/2 price. They are the streamline brand/type.
Great video! I have a 2019 trike, with 10k miles on it. I liked the storage cases up front, foot pegs, and the 15" windshield! Can you tell me where you bought these items? Based on the prices you showed, I am certain you didn't go through HD!?!?
The Lower Fairing Door Panel pockets are Kuyakyn 5208, $64.74 Amazon or ebay. The 15 inch windshield is a Harley davidson Brand (PN 57400224) $134.95. The Long Angled Foot Peg Brackets are Harley Davidson Brand (Pn 50500167) $119.95. You can find knock off on ebay way cheaper. The Foot pegs themselves are off Ebay at $$33. They are identical of a knock off of Harley's (pn50510180) $159.99
On the threaded screw stud for tightening the seat down in the rear . Do you know what size the thread was and the length you put in ?Does it have any kind of top for screwing it down, such as phillips, straight edge , torx etc ? And then you just let the seat set on it ? I find trying to screw that long stud to be a real pain to get it in because it has to be absolutely straihgt and I have a custom seat thats a little longer. The way you 've got the stud looks like the way to go . Thanks
The stud is 1/4 x 20 and it is approximately 1 1/8 inches long. And yes I did have to cut a slot on the top of the bolt with my Dremel tool in order to screw it down with a flat head screwdriver
No there was no wire extensions involved. If I would’ve went any bigger yes then wire extensions would’ve been required. But as it is there was no wire extensions involved.
What is the part number you used for your handlebars? I can't seem to find a part number on Khrome Werks or Dennis Kirk that says it will fit the 2020 Triglide Ultra. Thanks
Part number 300519. Stock on my bike the wires run on the outside with the throttle wire running on the inside. If you want to run wires on the inside along with the throttle wire you will have to buy extension wires.
I know you installed the khrome werks 2 & 2 but I'm curious are they 10"?? I am looking to buy some but as I'm new to this I don't know what to get... & are our original bars 7 1/2..??
All I know is that they are 2 inches higher than the stock handlebars and 2 inches further back than the stock handlebars. But they did make all the difference in the world in my burning neck issue. That little 2 inches both ways made my neck burning issue go away
@@windsurfed1 thank you so much for replying, I have the same issues as you with my neck so I'm hoping it also helps me, when I searched these bars it showed a variety of different sizes & 10 " being the shortest so I'm hoping that's the right ones..
@@dymondgirl5555 no I don’t really recall if they were 10 inch ones but I will tell you I kind of wish I would’ve went for even a little higher and closer back to the body. Handlebars seem to be the cheapest addition to the Triglide cost under $150 for the bars himself now that I know what I know I can put bars on myself so someday I would like to try those different bars little taller little closer back than the Khrome Werks 2+2’s I will admit though they did take care of my neck burning issue
My arm rest top pads still swivel loosely. The arm rest extension have a nylon nut at the base you should be able to tighten to prevent the the extensions from floating freely.
Yes I also made a heat shield for my wife and an extra one just for fun. But I also just recently had a cool flow fan installed HD oem equipment. I have not been able to test it out because it was put on in December.
Seems to Good so far. I have 13567 miles on it now and no issues. Dumped a lot of $$$ into accessories though. Hopefully I will do another video on the more accessories.
Does anyone have a set of stock handle that they can measure for us. That will help decide what size aftermarket bars to buy 😊 Bars for a TriGlide,. Or StreeGlide
Here is a measurement from my stock 2020 HD Tri Glide Handle bars. Hope this helps, somewhat. At the base to base inside measurement: 14 1/2 inches. base to height 9 inches Length of top bar to end of bars. 10 1/2 inches. Lengh of bars, (inside to inside) side to side 30 1/2 inches. Height of bar ends vary depending on the angle you place your bars. Straight up my bar end height is 10 3/4 inches from the top of my bench. When I pull the bars to the position I would want the height would be 8 3/4 inches from the top of my bench. Kinda difficutlt to figure bars if you will like them or not. I got the kromeworks 2+2 bars . Satisified my neck burning but still now I wish I would have went a little higher and pulled back further. Maye another inch or 2. You just never know. Had I went with the latter I would have to got extention wires and so forth costing more. Next time if I ever do it again, I will do it myslef as the first time I paid the shop $$$$.... Keven Of DK Custom looks like he has the bars I would like to have. They look higher and pulled back nicely. However, to each his own. Different strokes for different folks.
@@windsurfed1 Stock bars are about 7.5 inches in the "rise". Think I will try to 12 inch . Every bike I have owned. Needed the bars changed . I like my elbows at almost 90*. You have been a big help, thanks
@@boscodog4358 The claim on the 2+2 bars are that they are 2 inchs further back towards your body and 2 inches higher than the stock bars. I did not take a measurement of the 2+2 bars before I installed them. They basicly sit at the same angle as my stock bars before I took them off.
Ok. Hopefully you can try and watch the last part about that heat shield again. I haven't had anybody say anything to me about a section of bad audio in the video. I will look into it though.
Not all Harley parts. And yes, I did spend a fortune including the labor. After knowing what I know now I probably could have done most of the installs myself. But I am at the point in life where I just don’t want to do that stuff anymore so I just paid somebody to do it. As of today I have around $12,000 in accessories. That is stupid crazy. I could’ve bought a new sportster for that amount. But I do have it now set up the way I want it and it is very comfortable and very pleasant to ride, especially with the new shocks that I installed and the front fork intiminators valves. When I go to sell this bike, I will never get my money back so I am just SOL. Who knows though, I may just kill over and the bike gets handed down.
@@windsurfed1 anymore all the additions that are done to a motorcycle do not add to the resale value, it just will sell more quickly as the internet has ruined that for us. I have been assembling Harleys from parts since the early 70s. I used to make money doing that. Now you can’t get what you spent on parts back, much less get something for the effort to construct the machine. Nice job on the trike. Looks like you will have many years of fun and adventure with it.
@@peteosinga8845 yes I thought about all that. I will never get my money back. I will most likely lose all $12,000. I thought about that before I put all that stuff on there but oh well, you only live once.

I just bought it in July of 2020 and have over 10,000 miles on it. I never even got close to riding that much in my life. I guess that tells you something! Anyway I'm enjoying the heck out of it.

have you look into the Harley cooling fan for it? made a huge difference on my 5ft tall wifes 2020 tri glide, she dang near burnt her jeans off but now the fan pulls the heat back and down to the road has a on off switch $250 plus labor.
I actually had that cooling fan installed on my bike December 4. But I haven’t been able to try it out it’s winter time
Good to hear that someone has a positive view of that cooling fan. I also have been thinking about putting Jim’s forced fan on there also just for fun do you have any thoughts on that
same here ,TX weather is funny.
Riding my tri-glide in 100+ degree heat ended up with second degree burns through my jeans.

Great idea for the heat shield
It's a cheap alternative. And it does work. The shield will get very warm to the touch but you leg is still able to keep it's natural position on the running board.
Hello, I'm going over your video with a fine tooth comb getting the names of the upgrades that I'd love for my trike could you please tell me What is the name of the cellphone holder, I love how yours is high & it seems to angle where you'd like it, I've tried many and so far I haven't found one that I love
It is a cradle for an iPhone XR. Ram mount brand RAM-HOL-AP26
It might also be under Ram-Hol-AP26u. Also your phone must be out of the case to use it. It is not made to be in a case and mounted.

Great video where can i find one of those welders pad?
Almost any welding shops have them. I ended up buying about five or six of them, but I decided I didn’t need 2 so I put them on eBay. If you’re interested, but again, you can pretty much get them at any welding shop.
If you want to see them, just go to eBay and type in the following should take you right there.

Ignition Cover 19.80 (Ebay
An excellent run down on your additions/mods - Many thanks.
Well thought out practical solutions.
Question: Have you come across a relatively inexpensive rear 'bumper' or similar solution to protect the rear end?
That is the one thing that I have not really been interested in is the rear bumper. However I did back up to the curb the other day and fortunately it went under and scrape the pipe gently but still I have not researched into a rear bumper
For the Price of those Tri-Glides All those accessories should be included! Anyway good Job on the Video!

I don't know anything about pulling a trailerbut I've seen other guys pulling them behind their triglides. Must be good.
I saw your video on 17 accessories..where did you buy the lower fairing pockets?
Bought them off of Amazon. But you can find them on eBay also they are kuryakyn 5208 lower fairing panel door pockets with magnetic closures cost about $70
Similar quote from the dealer. Was all of the costs for the bar installation labor?
The bars were not that expensive I think they were about $144 but the labor was $706. if I had it all over to do again I would do it myself. I had them do it because I was not comfortable digging into the motorcycle because it was brand new. But now that I know this Motorcycle I would do almost everything now myself
He $706 was for labor tax and minimal supplies.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to do this video. Much appreciated!!!!!
Glad you could use some of the information that’s in there.

Thanks
The stud is 1/4 x 20 and it is approximately
1 1/8 inches long. And yes I did have to cut a slot on the top of the bolt with my Dremel tool in order to screw it down with a flat head screwdriver

Did the dealer add any wiring harness extensions?
No there was no wire extensions involved. If I would’ve went any bigger yes then wire extensions would’ve been required. But as it is there was no wire extensions involved.
Did you have to get longer brake lines??
Not for the 2+2 handlebars. Routed the cables outside thehandlebars. Anything bigger would to have get longer extension cables.
What is the part number you used for your handlebars? I can't seem to find a part number on Khrome Werks or Dennis Kirk that says it will fit the 2020 Triglide Ultra. Thanks
I will look and get back to you soon
Part number 300519. Stock on my bike the wires run on the outside with the throttle wire running on the inside. If you want to run wires on the inside along with the throttle wire you will have to buy extension wires.
I bought mine off Amazon.

I know you installed the khrome werks 2 & 2 but I'm curious are they 10"?? I am looking to buy some but as I'm new to this I don't know what to get... & are our original bars 7 1/2..??

@@windsurfed1 thank you so much for replying, I have the same issues as you with my neck so I'm hoping it also helps me, when I searched these bars it showed a variety of different sizes & 10 " being the shortest so I'm hoping that's the right ones..
@@windsurfed1 do you recall if the ones you bought said 10"
@@dymondgirl5555 no I don’t really recall if they were 10 inch ones but I will tell you I kind of wish I would’ve went for even a little higher and closer back to the body. I have not found the answer yet. Mine still swivel loosely.
My arm rest top pads still swivel loosely. The arm rest extension have a nylon nut at the base you should be able to tighten to prevent the the extensions from floating freely.

Whats the rise on those? 10" or 12"?
I believe if you’re talking about the handlebars they are 2 inches higher and 2 inches further back.
That is compared to the OEM handlebars
Did you also make a "Heat shield for your wife? My wife's leg also gets really hot as well! Really nice video, BTW.
Yes I also made a heat shield for my wife and an extra one just for fun. But I also just recently had a cool flow fan installed HD oem equipment. I have not been able to test it out because it was put on in December.

Hi like the video
I want windshield pockets, I'd spray foam that vent in.
I thought about windshield pockets myself but decided not to. A lot of people have them and like them.
Does anyone have a set of stock handle that they can measure for us.
That will help decide what size aftermarket bars to buy 😊
Bars for a TriGlide,. Or StreeGlide
Here is a measurement from my stock 2020 HD Tri Glide Handle bars. Hope this helps, somewhat.
At the base to base inside measurement:
14 1/2 inches.
base to height 9 inches
Length of top bar to end of bars.

@@boscodog4358 The claim on the 2+2 bars are that they are 2 inchs further back towards your body and 2 inches higher than the stock bars. I did not take a measurement of the 2+2 bars before I installed them. They basicly sit at the same angle as my stock bars before I took them off.

All Harley parts? You probably spent a fortune, especially on labor
