8:45 The name "Rockman" actually comes from "Rock, Paper, Scissors" due to his ability to gain enemy weapons and using them to exploit his enemy's weakness!! The music references were just a pun or an after-thought...
@Drew Taylor Yes, this is definitely more correct. He wasn't coincidentally called Rock along with Roll, Blues, Forte, Treble, Gospel (boost), and rush...wait is that supposed to be a nod to the famous band with Neil Pert? Never thought about that til now lol..
Albert Einstein is considered a villain in Japan because he created the atomic bomb and well.. you know how that went. That's why Willy is based off Einstein.
This show is right up there with sonic SatAM as being one of the best video game adaptations. I loved it when I was a kid and it still holds up pretty well now.
@@Siberianhusky89 I just re watched it last year. I stand by my opinion that it's nowhere near as bad as it's been made out to be over the years. It's good cheesy fun. There are plenty of cartoons coming out today that are infinitely worse than this show and also have worse animation despite coming out 30 years later.
"Unfortunately, Capcom canceled the series due to the lack of sales with the toyline". Yeah, I remember how much those figures were. No parent on Earth back then was going to pay $8-9 for an action figure. That aside, my best friend and I watched this show RELIGIOUSLY every single Sunday. It was awesome!
Couple of things....first Battlestar was a remake of a show from the 60s. Secondly has anybody heard “the Protomen”? It’s a 2 part rock opera set in the Megaman Universe! Check it out it’s so good!
Megaman said Roll was pretty before learning she’s his sister; plus there’s no condemnation in one saying that about one’s own sister. Actions literally speak louder than words!
the doctor names are inspired in the following Dr. Thomas Light by thomas edison and albert willy by albert einstein and yes it was inpired in einstein for the a-bomb theory
It wasn't that the toys didn't sell... It was the fact that Toys R US, KB Toys didn't order them to begin with... Back in the day my parents went to every store in our area. Each store said that they didn't order stock of the toys...
Love This cartoon as a kid I also love the legend of Zelda animated series. This is the video games just start out as animated series not as live action movie!
Everybody needs to see Sonic! We had the Super Hero Movie Era so by mindlessly throwing money at Sonic, we can get some amazing video game character films.
I remember seeing the toy commercials and always wanting them, but I never saw them at any store til years after the show was long cancelled they had some at CVS of all places.
Also I have 4 of the figures still sealed which I bought off of E Bay around 2000. At that time they were $20.00 each. Now they are like $50.00 or more
I always thought Megaman and Astroboy looked similar never thought they were created by the same people. Dr. Wiley looking like Einstein could have undertones relating to that person.
@SYFY WIRE How in the HELL would the MegaMan character be an inspiration for Battlestar Galactica, or Westwold..?? Both of those franchises/fictional works are SO MUCH older than the first MegaMan video game... xDxD
I have a pet peeve when hosts say a word u cant understand they say it to fast or it sounds mumbled, did he say sea food music or synth music lol im for real
Geez I don't think how the creator of the show were intended for something like that and Doris did complain and tried assassin Megaman and Dr.Light.....
Yeah. Dragon Ball was made first, BUT when dubbed into English (after Mega Man's cartoon was made) the music was also changed and some of the music was reused.
Why is Einstein... the father of the atomic bomb... And nuclear weapons as a whole, depicted by Japanese animators as a bad guy? Will wonders never cease?

8:12 Albert Einstein's genius helped to develop the atom bomb so...
Yeah, the atom bomb that hit hiroshima and nagasaki...
Maybe that's why the japanese created wily as they did, they see him as a villain where others a hero.
@@TriplomatX That's EXACTLY why Wily is inspired by Einstein... I believe I read something from Inafune himself about that...
That was the point, it was a clickbait comment to get people to comment.
I hear that in the Robotrek he was a full on villain.
Love to do an episode on Mighty Max. Seriously, there was some violent, scary stuff in there!
A wonderful, mostly forgotten gem~
We WANT
Yes! Mighty Max would be awesome... are you reading these @syfywire
I’d love to see an episode on the Masters of the Universe 2002 series. Definitely was a favorite
That theme still slaps bro!
John Morris Yes it does!
The best voices from Dragon Ball Z are the originals from the 90's. The Vegeta voice was the best Vegeta ever. He sounded so maniacal.
One note to make, that "Astro Boy" deal was supposedly just a rumor, but still was a major inspiration.
Mega mans first appearance on TV was in Capt N. The game master. Mega hi. If you don't get that you lack experience.
That iteration is better left forgotten!
I remember that show!! Showing my age now lol but yep that was Mega Man's first animated TV appearance
Fun Fact: Although it wasn't mentioned in the series, Proto Man's real name is Blues.
Interestingly, Corllet also voiced another robot: Cheetor in the Beast Wars franchise
T.J. Bonnes ii

That intro is still amazing. True story!
Great info! Please do a Everything You Didn't Know about Double Dragon.
Super Fighting Robot M E G A M A N
The ep with X was good until you recall X actually has free will and is a pacifist.
Dr. Light didn't develop actual AI sentience until he built Megaman X
FINALLY, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THE BLUE BOMBER! NOW HELP CAPCOM MAKE A MOVIE!
Thomas Light = Thomas Edison
Albert Wily = Albert Einstein

I’m really glad that you took over this everything you didn’t know series. It’s so much better now that you do it.
I had at least four of those action figures... Guess I should have bought a few more.
No superstar voice actors? Scott McNeil voiced Dinobot and Wolverine, and Gary Chalk voiced Optimus Primal and Optimus Prime!
8:22 The MegaMen game was easy... I remember I needed one week to finish it. The controls were slow, but you had to foresee the moves of the NPS...

I wish this show had lasted way more than just 2 seasons...
Scott McNeil also voiced Duo Maxwell (using the same voice as Protoman) in Gundam Wing, a role which I thought worked excellently with his acting.
your doing this because the Megaman Zero and ZX legacy collection coming out in 2 months?
When Megaman and Darkstalkers were cancelled, they were stripped onto weekdays during 1996 to 1997 as well.
That was a very interesting show. I wasn't a huge fan of it. But I enjoyed it.
Theme reminda me of Mummies Alive. You guys should review Mummies Alive 😁
0:31 Say What!? Oh you a real one for that
It wasn't that the toys didn't sell... It was the fact that Toys R US, KB Toys didn't order them to begin with... Back in the day my parents went to every store in our area. Each store said that they didn't order stock of the toys...
I love Megaman Cartoon.
still waiting for an X Series with serious and darker theme
13:43 This reminds me of Robocop without his helmet. . .😁👍
one of the best scenes in that series will always be Pharaoh man giving 0 fuvks.
Megaman: *steals power*
Pjsroh man *PUNCH*
You get...knocked out.
I loved this show.
Love This cartoon as a kid I also love the legend of Zelda animated series. This is the video games just start out as animated series not as live action movie!
You present this well and I love your energy. Please keep up the great work :D
Everybody needs to see Sonic! We had the Super Hero Movie Era so by mindlessly throwing money at Sonic, we can get some amazing video game character films.
hey, there are a very rare megaman comics in Brazil! and don't forget the Capitain N cartoon!
Ironically enough, I had no idea at all there was MegaMan cartoon. So this video does, in fact, contain Everything I didn't know. Thank you.
The best part of this show was the opening EVERYTHING after it was a disappointment.
The series could've been better if it followed the stories of the games.
the game had stories?
Except the game's stories were barely even more than a few sentences long. So, uh, no. No it wouldn't.
@@the-NightStar The stories were only ever explained in detail thanks to the manual.
@@Reapermaskhybrid The game stories are hardly different from a bunch of one off episodes of this show.
also a DW comics Megaman comic made that was pretty good
I remember the toys that from the show.
I had a few of those toys 😂
this dude looks like uncle phil fused with ll cool j
Wow... Mega Man's voice actor was the original (Ocean) dub for Goku
Oh and by the way... robots making their own path is them going Maverick....
IT'S GUTSMAN!!
There’s a live action low budget megaman movie online
Those original NES gamers WERE ragers. No clue how many times my control hit the ground.
I had wanted those cartoon Mega Man toys back in the day, but never got any.
Megaman legends was dope💯💯💯
I remember seeing the toy commercials and always wanting them, but I never saw them at any store til years after the show was long cancelled they had some at CVS of all places.
I don't know, anyone that did Beasts Wars were very good. Can you do a Beasts Wars video?
11:55. That was Fireman, not Heatman and I don't think either ever spoke in the episodes they were in.
Dr. Wahwee..........
Also I have 4 of the figures still sealed which I bought off of E Bay around 2000. At that time they were $20.00 each. Now they are like $50.00 or more
Rock and roll! Plus dogs named Rush! So good
Ian James Corlett was also Cheetor on Transformers: Beast Wars and Beast Machines.
He also, ironically enough, voiced Wily on Captain N.
@MG16NCP Scott McNeil was the voice of Dinobot, Rattrap, Waspinator, and Silverbolt. And probably at least one more character that's slipped my mind
1. I mean you can tell your sister she's pretty...so there is nothing wrong with that line.
2. Victims of Atom Bombs...might see him as a villain.
Great episode. I love the connection with DBZ. My childhood makes more sense to me now. Lol.
I always thought Megaman and Astroboy looked similar never thought they were created by the same people. Dr. Wiley looking like Einstein could have undertones relating to that person.
0:26 as iconic stop!!
the intro is dope ? i guess if you grew up with that it becomes an acquired taste. but just listen at the german intro. now THAT´s dope af
I wish they made a megaman X series 😪😪😪
This show was awesome but I dont think I ever saw all the eps.
The Megaman Battle Network game series was pretty cool and produced allot of games
The battle network series of games were just so super awesome plus the theme of gameplay is amazing!
The Megaman Online trailers are the best Megaman cartoons
After all these years I am just now realizing the rock and roll reference.
Are you saying it's incestuous to say your sister is pretty? You're reaching, there.
The sister thing was revealed directly after that line.
@SYFY WIRE How in the HELL would the MegaMan character be an inspiration for Battlestar Galactica, or Westwold..?? Both of those franchises/fictional works are SO MUCH older than the first MegaMan video game... xDxD
Finaly, another Evan, that is cool!
I think the first game and the 5th game were the hardest. 2, 3, 4 and 6 were fantastic and less difficult.
That MegaMan cartoon is mega awesome! Great video! 👍🤖💙💙💙💙
manw= wtf did they have this guy do study every 90's cartoon got me feeling like im reliving my childhood today.
Really? You're not gonna mention the Beast Wars connection just Dragonball?
Precursor to Battlestar Galactica? Bro, 1978.
I have a pet peeve when hosts say a word u cant understand they say it to fast or it sounds mumbled, did he say sea food music or synth music lol im for real
German intro was way more cooler 🔥🔥
Hnnn, and no mention that a lot of the cast was also in MLP:FIM (and Transformers Armada)? A LITTLE research would have gone a LONG way.
Geez I don't think how the creator of the show were intended for something like that and Doris did complain and tried assassin Megaman and Dr.Light.....
X was my favorite Mega Man.
RW:cool megabuster dude 😁👍
You forgot Ruby Spears Superman.
They didn’t refuse the synths in Dragon Ball Z since Dragon Ball Z (the show) was created 1st tbh before the Megaman show.
Yes they did, in an early 2000 dub.
Yeah. Dragon Ball was made first, BUT when dubbed into English (after Mega Man's cartoon was made) the music was also changed and some of the music was reused.
11:57 FIREMAN *
Why is Einstein... the father of the atomic bomb... And nuclear weapons as a whole, depicted by Japanese animators as a bad guy?
Will wonders never cease?
Can we please have a Tranzor Z EYDK!?!
If you want some android existentialism check out Android Kikaider.
In the show’s defense, it was poorly written.
"You really got a SHOCK out of that one!"
The german intro is badass
Is that the Ocean dub of DBZ?
o_o Wtf!
Until now I thought the german opening was the american original.
The German version of the song is an actual song with lyrics.
no, it's the same, but backwards: Megaman, super fighting robot
Bruh! Where you get that hand cannon?!
Minjin X Think Geek sells ‘em.
Tango and Beat should've appeared in the series.
