I think only the UK and the US in general operate with 12 hour AM/PM time. I've never heard of anyone else in the rest of Europe mention time other than 24 hour. So not only uses in military, science etc. as you mention. It always struck me as extremely impractical with that AM/PM stuff.
...what has this to do with the watch? It is a 24 hour face, right?
Would have preferred 00 instead of 24. As well as an option for the 00 at 6 o'clock position as to resemble the positioning of the sun.

I find it's vintage simplicity stunning.
The Å in Åkerfalk is pronounced like the British variety of "Aw" in Awkward and the a in falk is pronounced almost like the A in Atom

Not so. Å is pronounced like the “o” in bowl. So it would be pronounced more like Okerfalk
Wow! Out of curiosity I recently wondered if a 24 hour mechanical watch exists, and when I searched for it I found this video!
And it's a swedish brand, pretty unusal.

Yes they do my frien u can check botta watch website but mechanical watch are expensive specialy mechanical i have botta quarts 24h and cost 800 eu the mechanical version is 1800 eu with pioneer movement the quarts are ronda movement
The hours hand has passed the hour marker when the watch minute hand is at 12. I think your watch is knackered.
Just went to their website...thought the watch comes with all three straps ...apparently not. Or maybe I miss something...thanks for the review
No you're correct, there's the option for each of the straps, not all three. Sorry if I made an incorrect impression!

Some counties only run on 24-hours. 😄 But in the States and the UK, nothing matters after 18:00 anyway. 🍻

Before computerized medical records, this would have been ideal for hospital nurses and doctors. Now, the computer times all notes and orders automatically.

The hands aren’t aligned properly.
What I think is this Ronda 515 movement is actually a quartz GMT movement
and they just attached the hour hand to the GMT tube.. to make it look like a 24 hour watch.. if so it would be ..or should be possible to align the hour hand with the crown in 1st position outwards ( just like a date adjustment ) if there is only one crown position the watch indeed is incorrect.
@@gitmoholliday5764 , according to a "how to set the Akerfalk" video, you're absolutely correct. The hands can be set individually, so correct allignment should be easy.

with one hour hand removed.
( wouldn't surprise me if someone skilled can attach a 2nd hour hand on this watch or even a second hand ) 😁

According to Ronda specs, the 515.24H has 4 gears at the center of the movement, 24h, hours, minutes and seconds hands, and also a date wheel at 3 o’clock, so they must modify the movement to eliminate the date wheel, seconds and hours hands, just keep the 24h hand and minutes hand. That is quite a lot of work. The minute hand has a flat center. That means the second hand pinion needs to be trimmed short or total a new gear. Again a lot of work. Nice looking watch. Nice reviews too.

I love the 1 hand 24 hour watches...but I do not understand the inspiration of the designers: isn't zenit (when the sun is in the highest position in the sky) at mid day... why is midnight (24 h) at the top? odd!!!
