i think that a a possible answer at what you say at the minute 27.09 could be : "because nobody thinks in terms of solving the biggest problems about the meanning of life, in this life", ewerybody thinks at thoose things, trowards "the filter",: "anyway we all have to die, there is no enought time", so there isn't enought proufondity into the digging... and the answers arrive out wrong. ...It seems little, but it is not! we live our lifes like it is not important to understand the final meanning..., there is no effort, no push....

Nice summary of the current state of the art for phenomena of mind. It sounds like you may have read the “Relativistic Brain”? I suggest you read “Decohence” by Schlosshauer (at least twice through). Dennett and the philosophers of mind have little to offer. You are on the right track.

The system of neural oscillations is more akin to an analog computer than a quantum computer though there are formal similarities. A related and curious question is why has the evolution of computation moved on from analog computers to digital computers in the first place.

Oh my gosh. I LOVE this video. This is the field and path id love to go into!! Currently looking ans Neurophysiology however id love to incorporate quantum physics into my field ive seen stanford and duke with biophysics. Anyways im also in NC and trying to get into UNC theres sooo many ideas i feel that would be great conversation. Id love to reach out and just have a conversation!!

I've been interested in this subject for many years, read and watched a great deal about it. I think this is the clearest explanation of the potential relationship between quantum mechanics and consciousness that I've ever seen. Really great!

Thanks for the talk. All science started out from the basis of philosophy. With the most complicated subjects making the slowest progress towards being regarded as a true science. It is good to see Psychology moving on the continuum towards a more scientific basis, although there is still a lot of speculation....I did an ordinary B-degree with a major in Psycho so long ago, that Pontius Pilate had not got past the stage of practicing how to be a Pupil "Pilot".....let alone having become Pontius Pilate..🤪🤣

Excellent! Consider dna as the basic memory in life in quantum terms.

Thanks! It was a great session. I was with Kelvin McQueen and Johannes Kleiner. We had a great discussion for the last hour motivated by very interesting questions from the audience. I'll try to link it when it gets released the conference organizers post it

@@JustinRiddle Indeed it was a great session! On that first morning of the conference it felt already worth the trip to Tucson because of your interesting presentations ☺

@@josella Thanks Josella! It was so great meeting you. I am looking forward to learning more about the quantum consciousness course you are teaching :D
