🔹How old are you?
38
-What size where you before?
38DDD or 38EE
-What size are you now?
A full C or small D.
-What size do you wear in clothes.
Before I was a 12/14 and size L in shirts. Now I’m a 12 and size M in shirts
-How tall are you and how much do you weigh?
I’m 5’4” and weigh 168
-Did you need help afterwards?
Yes I needed assistance for at least 2-3 days.
-Where you in a lot of pain?
No I experienced more soreness than pain.
-Did you lose any sensations?
No everything felt fine.
-Was it uncomfortable to sleep?
No because I was already a back sleeper.
-When did you start driving?
I was up and driving after 5 days. Please consult your doc though.
-Did you experience any other symptoms?
I ran a low grade fever the day afterwards but medicine resolved that. I also had chills the first day. Around day four my varicose veins become horribly inflamed. This is due to immobility but when away after a day or two. I also had a sore throat a few days.
-What surprised you the most afterwards?
I was very hungry and didn’t prepare enough food. I was also surprised at how swollen I was afterwards.
-Who was your plastic surgeon?
Dr. Travis Holocombe
-How did you find your surgeon?
He was recommended by a breast specialist.
-Did you insurance cover your reduction?
Yes. I have Cigna insurance and they covered the surgery. I previously had UnitedHealthCare and purposely switched.
-How did you get your insurance to cover your reduction?
I spent two years documenting my medical issues. I will have a separate video on this. Most insurance companies just need 6 months of documentation.
-What supplies did you purchase after your surgery?
I bought a number of things including gauze, pads, bras, pjs, a robe, oils, etc. A video is coming on this.
-Do you have any children? Are you having any more?
I have a five year old but I do not plan on having any more children.
-Any words of advice?
Ask your obgyn for referrals to a plastic surgeon. Take your time to interview him/her. I had a great surgeon with 30+ years of experience. Make sure you have assistance the first few days. Don’t bother buying any bras until a few days after surgery. Use the ace bandages and have help to wrap yourself back in. Don’t be surprised at how you may feel afterwards. I experienced a mix of emotions including depression the week afterwards. Be patient. My breasts looked lumpy the first few days and are still forming their shape actually.

i love that im actually getting recommendations for black women in my feed now! Especially looking for things related to surgeries
Currently sitting ay a 32I but can't get approved because of body surface area requirements. Gotta lose weight again
I had a breast reduction 3 days ago and I will say this is the easiest surgery EVER. I FEEL GREAT. I went from HH to D and I feel 100x lighter and better. Sleeping on my back has been my only headache! Thanks for the update and advice
Same!! Sleeping on my baby has been the hardest part literally 😂
Can you please update your journey? Is the shape to your liking? Scars visible? Would you recommend?
@@celestialcolors July 4th will make a year and Im sooo happy. What I decided to do was get the majority of my breast tissue taken out and get implants because breast cancer runs in the family and large breast run in the family. I didnt want to risk them growing back. Im very happy with the results and the freedom I have regarding clothing. I used Mederma on my scars and it helped significantly. The anchor scar is there but barely noticable. I definitely recommend the breast reduction...its one of the best decisions ive made.
@@msdeshabangbang thank you so much for your quick reply. This really helps. My best wishes to you.
I’ve been a side sleeper for literally all my life, yesterday I got my breast reduction and I’m pleasantly surprised at how easy is to sleep on your back when you use two pillows (one for your head, one right bellow that one for you back) and a couple more to put your arms on. Truly life saving, would recommend!
I had my reduction in 2006 with insurance and only paid my $50 copay.
I keep thinking that was too good to be true.
I got approved by my insurance immediately. I only had 1 appointment where I discussed my back and neck pain with my PCP. They wrote me a letter of recommendation for me to send to my insurance company and approved! No drawn out process, no months or multiple visits necessary. I researched my own plastic surgeon and thankfully he accepted my insurance and it was nothing but God!
Was you pcp someone you’ve been going to seeing?? I don’t have a doctor so I don’t know where to start in the process
Same with me. I went once and was approved instantly. I keep getting rashes and hella pain so I was thankful. I go next month.
@@Latte-girly90 I didn’t have a PCP at the time so I went straight to the surgeon office he submitted the paperwork to my insurance and I got approved
This is so very helpful. Thank you! 🙏🏾 I had reduction & lift surgery 3 weeks ago and I too have had unbearable itching. I thought it was the healing process too, but hearing your comments makes me think twice. So glad I found your channel. It was valuable information.
For those of you with the terrible rashes, get miconazole cream and apply a thin layer every day. Sometimes I have to apply it twice. The rash is a yeast infection and ever since the dermatologist told me about it I’m rash free most days. I buy the Walmart 7 day brand and it lasts me about a month and costs $5.
I’m on Medicare and am looking into getting a reduction. Good luck everyone!!
Thank you. :)
Those rashes suck and back pain from carrying 46g suck
I got mine done when I was 15 I had at the time was 32HH I believe and my mother had to apply multiple times it ended up having to go to the head of the insurance people and it finally for approved. I wish you all the luck on your journeys. I'm happy I'm not alone with this problem.
Is the scar very noticeable? I also have been thinking about undergoing the surgery. My back has been hurting so much from carrying the weight.
@@summerimperial8225 Kind of. The scars under my arms and under my breasts are still there but aren't as angry looking. My nipples still have some noticeable scars tho. But it's worth it in the end 😌. Oh also you can use silicon and collagen to help a bit.
I am in constant pain, been going to chiropractor for decades, had physical therapy for months, have grooves in my shoulders and am losing feeling in my arms and hands and insurance STILL turned me down. 32H and lucky I am good at saving money. Surgery scheduled for 20 July!
I'm 67, had my reduction 3 weeks ago and have had a difficult healing period...had an infection which is almost gone...but I am HAPPY!. Your video was good and reassuring. I also was approved immediately....thank God. I hear the same thing from every woman who's done thins... I wish I'd done it sooner. i've wanted to do it since my teens...but the surgery grossed me out. I finally got over that and cannot wait to fully heal and get back to normal!
Beautifully done 💜
WOW!! Thanks for sharing sis.
I was a 38K went to a 38C! Best decision ever! I too had a rash about 2 weeks out, went away with a few days of prednisone. Great video!
Girl I didn't even know there was such a thing a K sized cups. Bless your back! I went from a H to a C
I just had breast reduction 3 weeks ago and it's been going well! It sucks the first couple of days, but you start to feel better pretty quickly. I think the only complications would be the whole sutures fully healing
In Canada, British Columbia in particular, it's free to get breath reduction surgery... wait times before the pandemic was 6 months, after that it's 18 mths with a possibility of rescheduling.
I got approved as soon as I seen 3 months of my family doctor, 6 weeks physical therapy. Bam I was approved fast fast. I’m 2 weeks out so I have a white to go.
Hi. Thank you for this info. You mentioned keloids. I had a bl 2 years ago and now my scars are raised. They weren’t like this initially. Are your scars still raised? Did the silicone tape work? If so, how long did it take?
I’m 2.5 weeks post op and i feel really great. I think I’ve had such an easy recovery bc I’m pretty young (22 yrs old) and I didn’t need drains. I went from a DDD/H to a small C but i’m still swollen. Luckily my I had no issues with insurance and my entire process took a couple months. My parents only have to pay about $150 out of pocket. -The only thing I’m really worrying about now is my scars but I’m trying not to stress it and wait for my doctor’s orders for scar treatment. I’m also dealing with dry skin simply bc I can’t keep the area as moisturized as I usually do trying to keep my scars clean. If you’re considering PLEASE get the surgery!!!Thanks for sharing!
I got mine about 3 weeks ago and my main complication is my sutures on the bottom of the breasts have split a bit, but my surgeon told me that what I'm going through happens in like 60% of most breast reductions. It's a little stressful, but I'm having my follow up appointment tomorrow!
Hey when were you able to sleep on your side and stomach?
I want mines done so bad I'm a 38 H.😥
I got a breast reduction a month ago and im now starting to use mederma .I apply in on my incisions but im not sure if i should use it on my nipple incisions as well.
See now, I’ve had two babies but they were vaginal!…lol I did have to have stomach surgery due to diastasis rectii after my second because it was torn to shreds. Anywho, I just had my reduction three weeks ago and I’m still a bit uncomfortable. I went up to an H cup after feeding these kids and I think the surgeon brought me down to a high C. May I ask have you regained feeling in the nipple or the breast itself. Also when did you start feeling like You? I’ve been a little depressed and this is not like me but maybe because it’s also the start of Winter.
I went through all of this and still got refused....the physical therapist wrote a letter saying there was NOTHING they could do for me therapy wise, but the chiropractor wrote me a letter recommending the surgery. They also told me I would have to do a YEAR of doctor supervised weight loss (which my surgeon told me would do nothing to correct my situation). I get to look forward to another summer of skin eruptions in the mammary folds (I mean, my skin looks and feels like a flame thrower has been taken to the area), bras digging channels into my shoulders, bras that don't fit , cervical pain, numbness in my arms and hands, and pain in my thoracic spine between my shoulder blades. I have had orthopaedic work ups and been told that there is nothing going on in my spine to cause the discomfort, that it is all muscular, and related to my triple DDD size breasts. The previous insurance company I had through work would have covered this. I figure by the time I get done with all the doctor co-pays, repeat treatments (physical therapy and chiropractic), prescriptions for pain medications (with which I don't want to pollute my body), and worthless dermatology treatments, I might as well just pay out of pocket for the surgery. By the way, my new work plan is with Medical Mutual and they are the worst for getting ANYTHING pre-approved.
I am so sorry. I truly hope everything works out for you in the end.
Oh.. also I was approved very easy. I went to physical therapy for a couple months for my back neck and shoulder pain. Then I was immediately approved for the surgery. Make sure you tell your doctor about the constant pain and rash under boobs. It will help you get approved
I had my lift five weeks ago. I am still sore and hard (swollen feeling) in some areas. Is this normal?
Im 3 weeks out and im dealing with the itching and hardness with the lift. But i bought some cortizone cream extra strength and it seems to work.
Okay so I recently got a breast reduction back in November. I got my staples out 2 weeks ago, I've noticed this weird smell coming from them. I've washed well rinsed under them and uts still there. I still have tiny opening where my incisions are and they itch like crazy. I bought some dry skin and itch cream from off of Amazon. Is all this normal.
Foul odor at an incision line may be due to infection, you should definitely contact your doctor to assess!
I was wondering how much weight you lost with the reduction. My breasts feel like they weigh 20 lbs each...lol. Constant thorasic back pain, shoulder tightness, numbness and tingling in my arms and hands.
I lost 2.5lbs each!
Thank you
Can we use alohvera plant for scars?
Subscribed XOXO 💋
Going to the doctor next week I go my breast done and I’m leaking a little it’s been a month. I’m getting worried it’s not to painful but it’s weird
I have United, is there a reason that you specifically got rid of them? I think I have a strong case for the insurance but I’m curious if you faced any issues trying to get them to cover a breast reduction?
I have United Healthcare and I had my surgery done a week ago. They paid for my surgery. I only had 1 visit and it was with the Plastic Surgeon. I was approved immediately (like a week later). I still have my approval letter and all. I’m blessed to say, “I had an easy process getting approved”. Now I am tall and I weight 200 pounds, but I’m athletic. My boobs were huge though. I was thinking they may have looked at my body frame and just knew those boobs were too darn big for my small frame. I’m definitely glad I decided to get the surgery.
I did my last week. It's easy with united healthcare insurance. They approved very fast, no need for chiropractor or therapy. They only need pictures form the surgeon and you are go to go
If you don’t mind me asking, what is the name of the doctor who performed your surgery? I’m in nyc a Christian and would love for him to reduce my breast.
Wat cream did yu user and u got reduction please please upload please tell mee
I just have one question, when did you get to your final size after the surgery? I am almost two months post op and hoping that it would get smaller in few months. It’s slightly bigger than what I wanted so hoping it’s not the actual size. If at all they are, I can live with it, it’s not terrible.
They say a full year
@@cgurl thank you! ❤️❤️
I need the ingredients DIY eczema treatment because I’ve had it since I was a baby and am always interesting in natural remedies. Thanks for the video!!!!🖤

annettemint thanks girlie!!
I wish I had my reduction when I was younger (10 years ago), at least the process would have been easier. Smh. They make it too ridiculous. 2 years?? 40 pages?? You shouldn't have to pay ANYTHING since they want to play that game.
I’m a 34/36 DDD I’m about to start my journey towards getting my insurance to pay for it😬🤞🏽
I’m 240lbs and a size DDD and I’m tryna get breast surgery,, the doctor told me I have to lose 40 pounds. Is there anything else I can do to get the surgery cause losing weight is hard
Yeah, go to a different surgeon. I was 250 when I got approved. Granted I was also a 42K. You might want to double check your bra size too.
@@GoshOhGosh okay thanks.
My breast have always given me back pain I wish I was a 38 C I was that cup size in the 4th grade I used to get teased about that now I wear a 40DDD I’m only 23 and my back pain has gotten worse sometimes it hurts so bad at night I have to rock back and forth to sooth myself
I'm so sorry. That back pain is no joke. I've had to go to the er to have nerve injections. You should really look into surgery if you can.
I really wish I could get surgery but I have no insurance so whatever I do I have to pay out of pocket but hopefully it will get better as I get older I try to workout and maintain a healthy lifestyle so that I don’t put any extra strain on my back so far it’s been helping
Any update my friend? How is your scar now
That’s what I want to know
So the burning is normal ? I’m 14 days out from surgery
A little bit yes.
Omg . That burning 🔥 is the worst 😫.. my surgery was 7 weeks ago
I had breast reduction 9 months ago, scars are looking good, nipple sensitive is fine, the rest of my breast is still numb so I doubt my nerves will rejuvenate at this point.
oh my godness..I'm so sorry.
I just hade one
Just had mines 11/28/22
Wow that’s sucks. They approved me hella easy. I didn’t even have a lot to remove BUT there was so much fat because my boobs were flat/deflated. Hey had no shape.
I didn’t pay anything outta pocket. I love my new boobs
Hi, I have the same issue and my surgery is scheduled for later in August. How was your recovery process?
Who was your doctor?
Dr. Holocombe (sp) in Phoenix.
I was in pain
Did your skin keloid are all?
Sorry so late. Actually it did. 😩 I think I may do an update video.
@@annettemint thank you for the update
