This video is so helpful for us to know anything about the all new triumph speed triple rs. When no one can provide any information of it in my country. Keep ride safe and thank you dan
I test rode one yesterday morning and I agree with many of the points you made. One in particular being the quickshifter, in so far as it can sometimes be snatchy on the way up, and actually sometimes it just refused to work at all. I think it is very fussy about your engine revs and perhaps how much you roll off the throttle, I found it would never work without a slight roll off. Other times it shifted nice and smoothly. On the down shift, like you, I found it always changed gear beautifully. I wouldn't necessarily let that bother me too much on normal day to day riding, I'd just use the clutch, for up-shift at least.
Nice. Just picked up mine today and love it. I did like the exhaust note on the 2018 rs i had when i gave it full throttle though , but love the look of the new version.
i absolutely love my '18 RS as well but damn this new model year looks MEEEEAN. Ive got about 12k miles on mine right now so theres plenty of meat left on the bone but damn do i wanna get one of these new ones...
I have the 18 RS and to start with that screen on yours that amber gear indicator is a welcome change to mine whereas I believe mine just has a gray indicator.
Nice bike . Earlier this year I had a ride of the 2019 Street Triple RS. Above 7000 rpm it was a bit terrifyingly quick for me ! I've since bought a second hand "slow" A2 S 660cc version and had it derestricted to 94 BHP which I find is quite quick enough for me. Guess I'll upgrade to one of these in a few years maybe if I find 94 BHP isn't enough (unlikely in my case). If there's one moan I have about the new Street Triple RS, it's the limited colour options. I'd want bright red, this is one of the reasons I'm happy with my bright red "S" version.
I also have the red A2 S, great first bike IMO. Mine is still restricted to 35kw but I wouldn't mind changing the color for a white R/RS in the future but the red looks quite lovely
@@DeFausti If and when you can get it derestricted it is well worth it. Around £200 from a Triumph dealer. It is a new throttle twist grip control and an ECU remap. Takes them between 30 mins to 1 hour to do. So about £125 for the new part and £70 ish for labour. Up to about 7000 rpm I couldn't tell much difference. Where it is different is after about 7000 rpm where it carries on pulling up to the red line. The RS is obviously faster, but how fast do you want to go ? I had a test ride of an RS, that was quicker than I need, although I guess some need to go that quick !
I think that Street is in a class of its own. Those indicators look awesome 😎. I don’t know if I could be tempted to swap my Speed. However the Street is so much lighter and you can fit a phone and wallet under the seat 👍
Nice video :) Excellent picture quality, what camera are you using?? Be interesting to see how this bike stacks up against the KTM 890 Duke R in the real world ... on paper the KTM has it - tiny bit more bhp, lots more torque, more comprehensive electronics (the KTM has an IMU for lean angle sensing, the Triumph does not - BUT with the KTM ya have to pay extra for the blipper and track mode, with the RS they come as standard) .. but the Triumph is a touch lighter (about 3kg) and costs a bit less .......
You forgot one thing the triumph is reliable I really liked the look of a ktm for a change from triumph until I found the amount on problems owners have had with the 790..
I'll be surprised if the 890 actually puts more power down at the wheel in stock form. The 765s have been dynoing almost as much power at the wheel as Triumph quotes at the crank... Rare considering most manufacturers overstate their figures these days. That being said, the R model is what KTM should have offered to begin with. The 790 Duke was built to too tight of a budget after all of their "Scalpel" publicity. They hyped up a much better bike than they introduced... I hope the 890 Duke R is closer to the original concept.
Hi Dan Love the bike great vid how was it on those Pirelli Supercorsa SP in the damp conditions, would you recommend another tire for winter? Thanks for your help. Stuart
No issues at all, although there were still pretty cold at the end of the test ride. I also recently had the 2019 Street Triple R and I was all over the place on the Rosso Corsa tyres so the new bike's tyres seem to be an improvement.
Almost had a pretty bad accident yesterday, literally 10 seconds out of my drive and sliding all over the place on black ice, barely missed a car... ride safe this time of year.
Nice review mate. I'll stick with my 2018 Speed Triple RS. Best purchase I've ever made. If you get a chance to do a test ride you won't regret it. Cheers from Melbourne.
I should probably do a video about that. Problem is KTM have the 890 coming. I'd say the 790 is more aggressive and with the more toys but the Triumph is more refined and cooler!
I own this bike. Only picky point is the screen displays. They are pretty rubbish. Look pretty but impractical. Apart from that, don't miss the old litre bikes because the weight and handling of these bikes make up for raw horsepower on the twistys.
My question is what is this bike like for taller riders? Less low down torque but better top end. Compared to the SP model the Triumph has a much more balanced chassis, better suspension and better brakes too.
Are those “betters” worth the extra cash? I LOVE the sound of either triple, both bikes are kinda weird looking in their own way (transformers vs ant man lol) but either could be my next bike. Maybe you could do a moto vlog comparing them. I recall you doing a good comparison between (if I remember proper) the MT07 and CB650R.
@@Mr.ZiggedWhenHeShouldaZagged It honestly depends on what you want from a bike. The MT09 is a better wheelie and hooligan bike but the Street Triple is a much better, more balanced machine that's more fun to ride in my opinion. But like anything, opinions vary from person to person. I'll be doing another comparison soon. Cheers! 👍
Meh. Not a fan of the body work and that seat is huge. However, this video makes me miss my Speed Trip this winter. Can't wait for spring!
Lmaooo totally not like we can see that pin on the map at the end 😂 Love your videos dude keep up the great work!
Oh shit lol. Actually didn't realise but ah well! Cheers dude.
Has it really got 20 catalyst's?
Haha, "Twin catalysts". As in, 2.
that is just beautiful, I test rode a 2019 RS but it was not that different from my 2018 675 that I would trade it, this on the other had looks very cool and the upgrades look great, nice to see they have changed the seat, that is the one gripe I have about mine. Nice video!
สวยมากครับ ชอบมาก แต่ถ้าจะซื้อนี่คือต้องอารมณ์ล้วนๆ เพราะราคานี้สามารถไปเล่นตัว 1000cc ได้เลย👌
Choosing a bike should be an emotional decision!
If you are using your brain instead of your heart, it's a sign that you're getting old!
