@luka mrko Thanks man! No problem! I always try to put practice sections at the end of videos where I can to help. I think even players of all skill can benefit from them as it's always good to practice and stay sharp.
This is the gold standard for a beginner tutorial. Thank you so much for making this. I will share this with everyone I come across who is a beginner in Tekken.
I just want to say I’ve been watching your video since yesterday. I work as a delivery driver currently and I just got home and be in armored king Usurper rank 3 times in a row!!! Thanks man
@@PeterYMao I do them pretty much every day and they don't take that long, but boy oh boy have they improved my reaction speed and overall defense. Definitely a great way to improve rather than just going from one ranked match to the next. Thanks again!
I love how you go into so much detail on such a simple subject!!! I honestly plug my phone in when I’m driving and listen to your videos with the Aux cord. When you come out with a video, you become my radio so great job on these and keep them coming. Will you be doing any character specific videos like key moves for this character, what to do and what not to do with this character etc...??? I see a bunch of videos on how to defend against certain characters but not enough on how to use them. I’ve been struggling ranking up with Shaheen and honestly these simple things that I forget that you cover are helping but I’m not sure if I’m doing anything wrong or if people on ranked are just spamming and exploiting their characters cheapness and I don’t know how to deal with it correctly using Shaheen.
@Vegas6551 Wow! Thank you so much for the kind words. I don't know what to say, I am greatly humbled and honored you listen to my videos on your drive, I assume to work? As for specific videos covering other characters. I do not currently have any plans of doing that at the moment. Those types of videos take up a significant amount of time recording, research, and editing. However... do stay tuned as I will be looking to do subscriber match analysis in the future, and I will be needing footage from subscribers so I can analyze their games. ;)
I do work and I plan to do tournaments here and there on Tekken 7. My 1st one was last year for the “Celtic Throwdown” that was in Ireland and I got 47th place and I will be attending CEO in Daytona Florida on the 28th of this month to try again. Like I said, your videos explaining simple things are helping me remember a lot of the things I’ve either forgotten to focus on or just don’t think about that much during a match and for that I thank you a lot. As for the subscriber match analyzing, I think that’s a brilliant idea and I think that will help me a lot more than what I was thinking. If you were to break down step by step what I’m doing right and wrong during my match then that would be very helpful constructive criticism so I am definitely looking forward to that!!!
I mean I didn't really need this but amazing video. I know some friends who need this. I'll be sure to subscribe and support your channel. Keep up the great work
Really like how you can add on set the computer in the game to play out different strings of the game no difference for options he threw out that’s pretty cool I wish to fighter could do that they can set the computer to do specific moves specific a unique moves or normal or special move Soopers whatever I mean you have to have recording mode I guess
Hey Tallanor! Glad you enjoy the drills. Hope you can find great use for them. I think we all need different exercises to do to help solidify concepts and ideas.
Asion, I don't upload content like 2-3 videos a day, and I cater to beginner and intermediate players. My videos take me about a week from writing the script, editing the script (which a friend helps me with), making text and image overlays, recording game play, recording webcam, editing everything, and putting music in. So yeah, a long process, but honestly... I would still do what I do even if I had 100 subs. I feel like as long as people enjoy the content, learn something, and acknowledge the work that goes into it. It brings me joy :D
Bryan is hard to low parry on pad from holding back, because I accidentally input d, df resulting in a crouch dash. I found that it's consistent to mindfully slid from forward to downforward instead. Talked to my brother about it and he said you better learn not to always hold back while blocking and instead let the auto block do the jest of it but get into the habit of making all your movement options end with a back tap, like space with two kbd if you want to play keep out then look at what your opponent is doing for half a sec then continue the game. Opinions?
Do not rely on auto block. Certain strings will go through auto block. Here are some examples... Leo - d+4,2 Hworoang - u/f+3,4,3 Paul - demo man (if first hit isn’t clean) These attacks if you hold back to block( the way you should block) will block the whole string. If you let auto block do the work you will be hit by the 2nd hit of all the strings. Hopes that helps
How come that you can't low parry Fang's d/b+2, 2 after the first one hits you, but you can block the second if the first hits? PS: It is a hand attack.
@Lazar Bulat. Yes I am very familiar with Feng's d/b+2,2,2 string. So to answer your question it goes a little deeper and it's also the reason why you can not low parry King's d+3+4,4,4,4 or Kazumi's d/b+2,3,4 after being hit by the first hit. Basically after the first hit, hits you, you must block the second hit, before being able to low parry. You can not be hit by something and then low parry the second hit. Even if the attack leaves you in neutral or in some cases plus. I think this is just how low parry is built so that low, low strings are not completely useless and get low parried every time. I had completely forgotten to mention that little caviat. Thanks for bringing it up.
@@PeterYMao Damn, I was going to ask this exact question with reference to King's stagger kicks - glad I read the comments first. Great video! I'm going to practice your seeable low drill.
A question about low parry framedata: when you say LP starts up in 1 frame do you mean it is active on the first frame or has a startup for a single frame and active from the second frame onwards? I believe your test is implying the first case but wanted to clarify.
PeterYMao I am having trouble low parrying hwoarang’s 1,1,3,3 in practice on hit. I can block the 1,1 and low parry easily. And if I get hit, I can block the low. But I can never low parry when the 1,1 hits me. Idk if I’m a dumbass and I missed something or if I just need to keep experimenting with the timing
Not at a place where I can check this in practice mode at the moment... Can you low parry, remain crouching, and low parry again with another 20-frame window? Thanks for the content!
As long as you press any other input other than d/f after low parrying yes you can. So d/f then d/b then d/f you will low parry again. Or say for instance d/f slide to d, then d/f again you will "parry" twice. I think that's what you are asking?
How vulnerable are you if you attempt a low parry but the low move does not come? I have seen situations where Law will do b2 into hopkick or df1 anticipating me trying to low parry or duck. Unfortunately I have been hit by this before and I'm wondering did I get hit because I attempted low parry or did I get hit because I didnt hold back fast enough. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Law can't go straight from b+2 into d/f+1. If Law tries to do b+2 into d/f+1 too quickly he gets b+2,1 because the game registers that a 1 was hit and disregards any directional input. So after b+2 if he wants to do d/f+1 he has to pause for a brief second. Anyways to answer your question. You have to stand up blocking a little faster if you want to block the d/f+1 after b+2. Try it out in practice mode. b+2,3 comes out slightly faster than the d/f+1 from what I remember. I just tested it out in practice mode and I can confirm that you have enough time to press d/f to low parry the low, and stand up in time to block the mid. Hope that helps
How come I have better chance of low parrying my opponent when I am -7 than -6? It should be the other way round. Minus 7 means I can't do anything for longer 🤯
It depends on the low attack the opponent is doing. Sometimes you might be low parrying too early as a result the 20fr window to low parry is over. By being at -7 you are essentially given an extra frame to low parry if it is held down.
can't wait to low parry attempt a deathfist
