Thanks for the video, I'm going to try this, because I bought the regular one that connects directly to the speakers and it's LOUD with a lot of noise too. I hope connecting it through the RCAs fixs it.

So the RCAs did "fix" it and I have no more white noise that I did have with the OEM unit. Truth is, the stereo is pretty cheap and the built in FM radio app works awfully lol, but all the rest is working fine now, I can't complain for a $60 radio I guess. What is weird is that even with the volume 0, on mute, I can still hear the FM radio pretty loud, is like the amp was always on, but only happens when I use that app.

thank god i found this video, i think it's the only one that shows how to use the special harness for bose system, my question is: the new radio should have two rca audio outputs to connect the amp ?

Most radios have preamp wiring.. it may not be rca but can still be spliced.

Now I just need to know how to remove the pins..

  • @cellooommen

    Which Head unit is that?
How did u remove the hissing sound?
How is the sound quality compared to the previous bose unit? (knowing it is crap)
    Any volume issues?
Apologies for all the questions. U r the only person talking abt 07-12 altima with bose unit getting a headunit replacement.

Hi. It is an aftermarket unit I found on Ebay, specifically for Altima dash. Hissing sound is bypassed by using just one preamp and not the built in preamp on the unit plus the cars amp. Covered about the 3 min mark of video, and more about the 4:20 mark. Sound is good (for my needs)....no better or worse than factory stereo . No volume issues, very clear and loud. Only difference is the aftermarket unit shutdown gives an amp "thump" about 10 secs after shutting off unit/car. So basically, all I did was strip the preamp wires from the Metra adaptor and pinned them into the new units harness to maintain all functions including canbus for the steering wheel.

@@garyg4628 wouldn't you be able to use metra harness and just move the steering wheel controls wires to the metra harness rather than move the speaker app wires from metra to the stereo harness?

    • @garyg4628
      @garyg4628  2 роки тому

@@jarod3371 not just a matter of moving/splicing wires for steering wheel. There is a canbus that doesn't match with aftermarket units. My unit allows for 2 steering wheel options.

The radio should have 2 or 4 preamp rca outputs?
    My new radio had
    2 front preamp rca output
    And 2 aux outputs ?

Hi Gary, I am working on BOSE system and have a question: the BOSE system has 8 pins (such as LH-, RH +), but the RAC cable only has AUDOI OOUT R and AUDIO OUT L (four pins). I saw you also connected to AUX R IN and AUX L IN. Those two are actually audio out? thanks very much

Need help with 2017 Nissan Altima harness. Which harness should I get in order to keep SWC and backup camera? Also do I need to get a wire with canbus attached or can I use the original car SWC? I really would luv something to just plug n play. It's for an Android Radio. Thanks You.

Hey bro I have an Altima coupe 2012 with the same system that u have which is Bose. I have replaced it for an after market radio and it works perfect it’s just not giving sound and I looked in into it and figured out that the problem is that the sound harness male isn’t plugged into a female harness.
If you know where I can find a female harness for the sound one which I believe is the one that comes with colors mixed into each other please let me know where I can find it . Thank you very much bro
