1982 Honda CB650 4into1 Exhaust Upgrade

- Listen to the difference between the stock headers and some Harley slip-ons, and a 4into1 header with a cheap slip-on. I’m going to buy need a much nicer muffler next. Also, the video doesn’t do a good job showing the difference in volume but straight piping the bike easily triples how loud it is (as well as making it sound badass!).

This is the best exhaust video I've ever seen in my life
Tune that thing! Sounds like a diesel 🤣🤣
I don't think that engine has much time left
Cool looking pipe. This bike sounds like it needs some love much deeper than this though.
Could sound so much better
I need the link to the exact headers you bought because I cannot find any 4 into 1 exhausts
at 1:04 minutes :'D :'D
What kind of muffler, name&brand.brand .? pls
You need to adjust dat carbs!
Looks awesome. What kind of seat do you have on it?
Whats up with the idle?
What exhaust is the black one? Would love to get that for my 82 cb650. Thanks!
4into1 I think they stopped making this one but they still make the CB550 one which is the same block (last I checked)
how come it turns off after revving it and is it burning oil or something?
Àjay Dhaliwal the original carbs aren’t very good. Plus the engine was cold during the first example and I wasn’t very motivated to redo that shot.
Since this video I’ve completely rebuilt the engine and rest of the bike. I also bought racing carbs which will actually be capable of running in tune. Will upload a video once its fully back together.
Cheers
the carb needs to be tuned, you can hear the engine "sputtering" one or more of the cylinders is not firing, unburned gas is getting into the exhaust and burning from the hot gasses of the other cylinders causing the smoke and fire out of the exhaust.
is this thing still running ? or has that motor grenaded itself ? sounded like a bunch of bolts rattling around in the cylinders !
The clutch assembly and internal chains sound like that on these bikes. I rebuilt the engine though to bore it out, still has that sound a little bit but runs great. Just leaks oil all over the place.
ahh , thanks...@@MarcStollmeyer
I am in the midst of probably picking up a 79 cb650 today if the guy ever messages me back. ( already have a 84 kz550 spectre that i am trying to put back together )
did they only have a 5spd trans for these or did they ever make a 6 spd trans in newer models ?
@@theregoesmiller389 modern CB650 has 6 speed, the classics from the 70’s and 80’s were all 5 speeds except for the hog 10 speeds. I have a few 79-82 cb650 parts if you need some and are in Cali.
@@MarcStollmeyer your reply cut off at " 79-82 cb650 parts if you need some and are ..."
i was curious if they made a taller 5th gear swap for these bikes ? i was gonna do a sprocket change on mine and then hopefully throw in a taller / longer 5th gear for cruising on freeway at 80 mph. dont wanna be sitting at 6-7k at 80mph.
@@MarcStollmeyer it finally have me the "show more" option.
what part of cali are you in ?
Is that a MAC 4-into-1 pipe?
Your timing chain bad or something that's a lot of rattling
Sounds like someone shaking a bag of wrenches.
Where did you purchase these 4-1 headers?
4into1.com I think they discontinued this header after I bought mine, though the CB550 header should fit a CB650.
For anyone interested in this project, I have been doing a lot of work on the bike since this video. Completely rebuilt engine, new carbs, new front end, rebuilt frame, etc.
See a teaser of it here! ua-cam.com/video/e2drNoncZes/v-deo.html
Almost ready to ride again!
Isnt 4 into 1 less efficient than a 4 into 2?
I'm no expert but was told that the 4 into 1 is the higher performance option over 4 into 2 and 4 singles. My '76 CB550F SuperSport came with 4 into 1 pipes from the factory
is the 4 into 1 stock? mine has one too. looks original.
what exhaust system? im looking for a 4 into 1 for my 1979 cb650
jonah moscati 4into1.com 👍 the same should fit onto your bike. Make sure to get exhaust gaskets as well.
There is a leak!!! By the crack. 🤣🤣🤣
What seat is that?
Anthony Graham honestly I don’t know. Previous owner said it was apart of a kit that came from texas, hacksawed off the original frame end, bolted/weld the loop and then attached the new seat with gate latches. Kinda sketch but I’ve been able to redo it since this video.
Its a Texavina seat.
