The first time I put the cartridge in my SNES, powered it on, and was met with this...such an ominous, eerie, beautiful feeling. I couldn't wait to actually begin the adventure. Thank you for rekindling a "core memory" for me.
I rented it in 94 Hadn’t played final fantasy since the ‘brutally hard’ final fantasy 1 on NES Wasn’t sure what to think because the deepest story I had experienced in an RPG until that point was mystic quest and link to the past By the time Figaro went under the desert I was HOOKED And by the time I got those first 4 espers from Zozo I couldn’t do anything but play this amazing game … and then I had to return it and couldn’t play it for two months Brutal agony
It took me a while to stop comparing this game to Final Fantasy 2 (SNES/USA) but eventually I got into this game and enjoyed it just as much if not more than the previous installment on the SNES. Now, almost 30 years later I still can't tell you for certain which Final Fantasy game I like better, IV or VI. Kara Comparetto recently covered the entire FFVI soundtrack on piano (fantastic job btw! IMO the definitive non-OST FFVI soundtrack) and I've been listening to this song a lot. I can't wait for Orchestral Fantasy to finish covering all the FFVI songs, because once they do, their soundtrack will be the one I look at as the definitive soundtrack.
I was totally mesmerized by this game/characters/music. The battle 1 theme music is my all-time Jam! I invited a friend over to co-op play with me and on a boss battle, he would just sit there and look at the graphics, listen to the boss battle music mesmerized. Thankfully we did get through the battle lol!!!

This was the first video game that made me feel video games could be so much more than just games. FF6 is a marvel with a five act structure, and this intro setting such an incredible, specific mood. A mood you've captured marvelously.
By far my most favourite and underrated UA-cam channel. Your covers are the most accurate when it comes to keep the genuine sound the SNES system produced from its sound card. Keep up the amazing work!
This video is proof positive that the UA-cam algorithm sucks. I guarantee there are far more than 20k people on the platform that want to hear this. It's a crime that this channel doesn't ge way more exposure than it does.
It's genuinely a dream of mine that this channel gets the recognition it deserves. So incredibly underappreciated, and I implore everyone to share with as many people as you can.
Good oll FF6, that intro still gives me chills. First time I rent that, the intro scared me, like that organ scared the heck out of me. The notes still resonates and bring back great memories! Thanks for the cover
I really love the more soft set of instrument. To me this cover perfectly encapsulates the sentiment of something dark looming in the distance, and then.. The journey begins, with a long and arduous road ahead This is such a pretty arrangement, thank you
It is truly incredible. I am no Final Fantasy guy and know very little of FFVI let alone it's music and yet I can very clearly imagine how the original must sound with the SNES sound chip just by the sheer faithfulness of you and your teams rendition. Bravo!
I got the chills from the start (but then again the 16bit snes sound track gives me the chills too, because of hou). seriously, this is SO good. The Pixel Remaster OSTs are awesome, but Orchestral Fantasy still takes the cake in my book
I used to try to skip the beginning load sequence of the game because that "organ" part used to scare me. I'd spam start to try to get to the load screen before it started LOL.
My man! You’ve done it again. Super accurate feels to the original, while also sounding much more modern. I don’t know how you do it so well, but I’m always super hype for another song from my favorite Final Fantasy game. Great job!
He faithfully recreated the song using the real instruments that were being mimicked by the SNES sound chip. It sounds simple but it's really difficult to -not- embellish, reinterpret or allow the individual performers' preferred musical style creep into the music and stay as faithful as possible to the original musical intonation and phrasing.
There's a reason I subscribe to your Patreon and this is it. You manage to keep the original feeling of the songs while adding a new dimension of immersion to them. You're not embellishing it with your own style, you're doing faithful live productions of the songs.
I remember being blown away by that opening. That music, that mood, seeing those 3 walking through the cold landscape towards their fate .. One of my all time favourite pieces of video game music. Your cover is utterly beautiful, thanks!
THANK YOU, ANDREW and CREW... Thanks for such a beautiful and tremendous Christmas present!!! I got the chills... Look at Andrew' s face at the end, playing bass, it' s extasis!!!! Merry Christmas, guys. And true thanks. PD: I can wait an eternity for a Breath Of Fire I cover... it will be worth the wait!!! ❤🎄
I could only imagine Terra's theme played on oboe or flute... That soprano Sax is a great choice! Also love that Harpsibord joined this collaboration. 🤠 Thank you. 😁
I might have to go through opening multiple times on the pixel remaster just to hear this over and over on Wed when the game unlocks. I needed a lot of help w/ games when i was a kid and luckily had two older brothers that did just that.
This is a good cover and I checked out some others while I was here like Actraiser and Soul Blazer. You do a great job at staying true to the originals while leaving behind the limitations of the synth technology of the time. Shining Force 3 (Sega Saturn) is a game I'd recommend covering - great music, fantasy style easily translates to what you have experience with, very few people have covered it, and while the synth quality is respectable it limits its true potential. If this interests you I can make a few song suggestions. Lunar Eternal Blue (PSX / Saturn / Sega CD) is another oldie but goodie that doesn't get much attention. Fire Emblem Three Houses is much more modern and would be a good fit for you but that gets a lot of attention from the cover community already

Magic~ pure magic...
Only a true master could imbue a 16-bit cartridge with so much magic.
Looks like Andrew is gathering new friends, just like in FF6
I have no friends. Just a dog I sic on my enemies like Interceptor.
I suddenly want to climb into a walking tank and slog through the snow to a mountain town.
1:10 that little glimmer of hope in a sea of minors is amazing. Uematsu was really on point with this entire soundtrack
I still get amazed with how accurate these covers are
Final Fantasy VI Remake: Music composed by Nobuo Uematsu and performed by the Orchestral Fantasy UA-cam channel
Glad to see you back, people. Hope you're all ok c:

Chills, Goosebumps, and Tears of Joy
Got here from Harpsibored's channel, didn't look back. Marvellous!
They just don't make them like this anymore, and you've done it a great justice. Beautiful!
Best FF of all time by far. If they'll do a remake of this one people will finally understand.
Not possible to capture the team of back in the day, unless Sakaguchi and Uematsu were back on it.
Final Fantasy 6 is always a favorite
Ah this is so much goodness packed into one video, I swear it's going to condense into Magicite
Onwards to Narshe!
By far my most favourite and underrated UA-cam channel. Your covers are the most accurate when it comes to keep the genuine sound the SNES system produced from its sound card. Keep up the amazing work!
Beautiful teamwork on that FF VI Opening
Thanks for including me! -Austin
Dude, Yes. This kicks ass on so many levels. Thank you for keeping the spirits alive, in the old style.
I've never clicked "Like" so fast in my life.

Epic.
New Orchestral Fantasy and it's a Final Fantasy VI song as well. This Tuesday's not so bad. Love it.
Amazing soundtrack, glad to see it's still getting love even today 👍
This is the one.
Simply awesome. Always get goosebumps when "Terra's Theme" starts playing... You did this piece justice, well done! 👏
It's genuinely a dream of mine that this channel gets the recognition it deserves. So incredibly underappreciated, and I implore everyone to share with as many people as you can.
Terras theme will always be my favorite ff song thank you
Welcome back, everyone! I hope you're all doing well and thanks for the lovely cover!

Good to have you back. Had to stop everything to listen and really take it in.
Listening in my 40s while high in coke hits different

It’s great to see you working on Final Fantasy 6 since the pixel remaster is on its way for release

IMO this is the finest piece out of any FF game. This opening really captures the feeling of the entire game perfectly.
Magnificent as always
This gave me goosebumps, especially when Terra's theme started
The best is at it again. Excellent work.
I'm happy you did this🤗🤗🤗 this track is great in creating atmosphere, one of best intros I've heard. FFVI deserves more covers 🙂
THANK YOU, ANDREW and CREW...

incredible stuff
You really brought some grandness that this track evokes
Terra and Shadow and Cyan and - what an adventure, what a gorgeous rendition. Well done. ❤️
Brilliant as always.
YAAAAS
Heyyy isn't my dude Gamerofthewinds!!! 🙌
👏👏👏 Love it!
How haunting! ;o
So well done. As always.
Loved it, I miss the few seconds of choir that accompany the swell of the organ when the title is fully illuminated, but I still love it.
Amazing!!
Omg guys I absolutely love it 😊
Amazing! I am 8 yrs old again playing ff6 for the first time hearing this! Bravo!!!
I could only imagine Terra's theme played on oboe or flute... That soprano Sax is a great choice!
Also love that Harpsibord joined this collaboration. 🤠
Thank you. 😁
This performance is absolutely incredible. I'd also love to hear a rendition of Celes's theme some day.
Beautiful. Thank you.
You’re killing me with these FF6 pieces!! LOVE IT!!
Thank you. One of the greatest games of all time. And some of the best music came from this era
Out of the park
Thank you for this
Brilliant, and well played 🎶❤
This channel has never made a bad video.

They should have hired you to do all the Pixel Remaster soundtracks....
instant goosebumps.
thank you all guys for the hard work. excellent job.
thanks Orchestral Fantasy.

Sorry for my musical ignorance, but is it an oboe??? Sounds kinda like a "sad saxophone".
That is a soprano saxophone. Which can sound very close to an oboe.

Thanks 👍
Yayyyyy it turned out damn awesome KUPO
Beautiful. Lovely. Strange that there are so few views.
So much of FF6 is operatic and this overture is no exception. This performance perfectly captures that drama
Amazing! We missed you!
I was waiting for the whooshing and whistling of the wind as Vicks, Wedge, and Terra view Narshe from the cliff.
That was beautiful.
such a faithful and finely performed rendition!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I dunno what else to say, i'm struck in too much awe!
Musical perfection. Nothing more to say...
Im willing to bet that the Pixel Remastered version of this thème wont sound as good as yours.
Knocking it outta the park with these vids more and more 😭

Very Very good 👍
