This is also my thought when hearing this music, my first reaction is that the sound quality is very detailed! It’s better than all the music in UA-cam I’ve heard before. Of course, the performer’s performance is impeccable.
the bombing mission. THIS mission is the best introduction to any game ive played. everything from the graphics to the music from the sheer scope in FF7 remake is just amazing
@Gru122 the dialogue was embarrassingly bad on par with shenmue it had very good combat but it's not worth to play because to get to the good combat there is just wave after wave of bad story and tedious platforming
@Carl Horn that's not at all what I wanted from the game I'm happy they ditched tbc but the story and voice acting and the amount of downtime the game has ruined it for me
I'm super biased, but I'd argue the entire opening experience of FF7 (the prelude/credits, the new game screen, the opening cinematic and this composition in particular) is one of the high-water marks in gaming. Such an incredibly tight and well executed intro to the game, especially for its time.
Idk I think the tears come from remembering a time better than now, and this music is like a way of representing that good time modernized. But we all know that things have changed, and then the tears come, knowing we won’t have that prosperity we once had.
I was there when these guys played. Absolute gods. But I have to say it is a completely different experience to being in the audience. I highly recommend attending the next time they're touring. I know I will!
Seriously this is as close to perfection as you can get with an orchestral arrangement & performance. A lot of covers of Nobuo's music are well performed but just take too much creative license in the arrangement department. This one takes just the right amount of creative license by using the perfect instrument for each note.. SUCH a masterpiece. Bravissimo!!!
I'm sure some of these musicians shit their pants out of sheer excitement when they learned they were going to play this score for the game. If it was them anyway.
Here I am attempting to play this on my keyboard, so I decided to search UA-cam for an orchestra, to see how a professional pianist plays that bassline. I've never gotten so many chills through a phone speaker. When those strings all come in together wooooooooooooooo. Can't wait to listen on a proper stereo.
I don't know if it's from nostalgia, if it's my empathy kicking in from the amount of time and practice it took or that they played this so perfectly, but it brought tears to my eyes. And they almost started falling uncontrollably. I can still remember back when I was around 8 or 9 years old, playing this game for the first time. Aerith coming out of the alleyway with her flowers, the camera panning down as the train is coming into the station for a stop, the crew jumping off in their "TOTALLY REALISTIC" boxed bodies and starting the game finding my first materia. I never knew this was here until now and I'm so glad I decided to watch.
This is without a doubt, the most talented group of young musicians. Their individual prowess, the communicative powers of the conductor and amongst the instrumentalists is truly breathtaking. The work of audio and recording engineers is absolutely at the top of the field. The lighting, effects and camera crew and all others who contribute to making this possible, on the behalf of all us, I thank you from the bottom of our hearts, you are sharing an incredible light and power with the world and I wish you all every bit of success.
I almost cried listening to this. All my memories are flowing back into my head to when i first played and beat the original ff7 about 9 years ago. 😢😢😢😢 the good times.
The official FFVIIR Orchestra was cancelled due to Covid-19, but I am thoroughly pleased I get to see a live performance on UA-cam. The game has one impact, but done live has its own many special features.
Man ff7 has done so much good among the gaming community. The remake surely lives up to that and made it even better in many ways. Can't wait for part 2
Aww man, this is so cool! Terra's theme has an inherent military quality, given her background. To have it reproduced by a real-life military body is amazing and a testament to the quality of the composition.

this makes me so sad cause i was supposed to see the symphony perform here in california and the shows been canceled. how amazing game music can be in orchestra format!
Feels like I'm listening to a Gundam OST. There's that feel to it. When the enemies are infiltrating a colony in Gundam and then a battle ensues. And then you insert this piece.
This was awesome you can see the passion in the musicians as they are playing it would be cool to see u live I went to see distant world live and they were magnificent.
As a lifelong gamer and a musician for almost as long, you guys heavily fit my interests. You gained a new sub here. I would love to perform with a group like you all one day. Maybe I can find a group like this here in the middle US.
This isnt just about a game, its about people coming out, show casing their God hidden talents. Talents we are fortunate enough to experience. Love the music, animation, setting, roller coaster of emotions... Thank you !
You should totally play character themes, this one was done so well, that if you’ve told me that this was the original recording I would’ve believed it. Seriously, great work all you guys! Though in terms of social distancing, I’d recommend if you take precautions, especially for instruments that requires blowing air to make sound.
@Game Music Collective you guys are amazing people, and we don’t want to want to amazing people :) Also, who’s your favorite FF7 Character? Jk, you don’t need to answer that :)
Personal favorite are Cid, Vincent and Red XIII, though didn’t have this group in battles when was playing the game. Cool characters though. -oboman/GMC
@Game Music Collective cool! Well, I gotta be honest! I’m pretty early in the original FF7, and haven’t met Cid and Vincent yet so no spoilers plz :D I shouldn’t be wasting your time, have a fantastic day now, and send my regards to the everyone else! (You don’t have to)
Things like this really make me appreciate all the work that went into making this and the original game such great works of art. Thank you for the awesome video
Just WOW! With all that talent and resources, you just have to do all of music in FF7 / Remake. Nobuo Uematsu is such a musical genius and I'm almost certain that he'll be in tears if he watches this. Edit: please seriously consider playing other FF7 music, or at least: Aerith's / Tifa's Themes, FF7 Main Theme, Remake's Wall Market, and most especially Cosmo Canyon Theme!
Thanks to the people who setup the recording. The sound quality is insane.

The bassist is a FF7 fan for sure 💪🏼
You know he got a few lv 99 save files on his memory card

I'll never forget the first time I heard this track in the original game. Midgar was breathtaking at the time and even more so now in the Remake.

Isn’t it weird that music can give you goosebumps and make you cry?
No. It isn't.
No its not weird because when it does make you cry you know it came from the heart and soul
Idk I think the tears come from remembering a time better than now, and this music is like a way of representing that good time modernized. But we all know that things have changed, and then the tears come, knowing we won’t have that prosperity we once had.
