The reason people still want brown switches (I won't use anything else) is because you can type and game on them. Typing on linear or red switches is just about impossible, IF it's not a wooting. If you don't plan on typing and only gaming, then get a linear switch keyboard. Otherwise, get a keyboard with brown switches.

i agree for gaming optical switches are bare minimum. all those contact based mechanical "gaming" keyboards are an abomination with their debounce delay and rapid aging of the contacts. i don't even use that trash for typing - i have NIZ electrocapactive for that. unfortunately when i had steelseries i had to send it back because wireless didn't work for me plus with my display positioning RGB was reflecting too much in the screen. currently using Asus ROG Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe and it's pretty good. screen reflections are well controlled, wireless works like a champ and switches are smooth as butter. i don't need the wireless but think it's a nice bonus to have if you want to use the keeb for HTPC. no rapid trigger on the ROG of course as it's only optical.

I wonder if the Apex Pro can be updated similarly. Still a solid update but I'm not into 60% keyboard unfortunately. I'm more of a 96 key layout. Maybe some keyboard company will do this layout with the same tech as Wooting or the Apex Pro.
optimum tech did a test on both of them if anybody wants actual facts on each & the apex "rapid trigger" is DEFINITELY not on the same level as wootings esp when it comes to the customization(not of the actual keyboard but software but the keyboard too)& as someone who does play apex, csgo, val etc i would say the extra $30-40 is worth spending on the wooting, youre better off doing it right the first time bc the apex does feel slightly off/inconsistent compared to the other
The fact it’s 45 dollars cheaper for the same gaming performance as the wooting, this is well worth the price if you only care about performance in game.
It's not the same performance by ANY stretch of the imagination - the only reason this guy isn't saying the wooting is better, is because wooting isn't a soulless company who pays people to advertise their products....look in this @ssholes description. There's a direct link to buy the freaking steelseries. He's a waste of your time.
@@yoblazes by any stretch? Performance wise it’s a few milliseconds difference, which won’t be noticeable. Rapid trigger and good adjustable actuations are the main features you need for performance in gaming and it’s what mostly set apart the wooting from other keyboards for such a long time. Apex pro mini has caught up in that regard.
not worth cheaper in every region, in my country (france) it's the same price so it's wooting all day imo, unless you don't want to wait for your keyboard.
can you try the akko 007 anniversary keyboard? it has magnetic switches with a feature that sounds similar to rapid trigger, haven't found many reviews.
Cant get Wooting in my Country and importing it costs a arm and a leg. Not worth the price tag. the Apex costs ($280) quite a bit also but much less than the Wooting which is around ($380).
Actually the performance are very similar ! Apex have more disponibility on the market it s wireless and it s tkl ! 3 things that persuade me to buy it ! Wooting can be a bit better I never will buy a 60% keyboard 😊
That's called an echo chamber. Be patient and buy the better product. The steelseries is some mass-produced garbage that could care less about the actual keyboard and more about what lines their pockets
I have to agree on both Logitech's GPX 2 Pro and their new Keyboard. Both seem very lack Laster against the competition. And next to no innovation what's so ever.
If you were to recommend these keyboards for a beginner, which one would it be? I've used the Corsair Strafe MX Cherry Brown, Corsair K95 RGB Platinum MX Cherry Brown and on Christmas Eve I got the HyperX Alloy Origins PBT HX Red which is perfectly fine but all this talk about the SteelSeries Apex Pro and Wooting makes me wonder if these would be significantly better than my current keyboard.
They would probably be a little bit better, but unless you're very skilled and playing at the highest ranks in your games of choice, it's not something you should really be worrying about all that much. If money is somehow of no concern to you, it would be an upgrade. Overall though you're probably going to be fine. It's up to you how much you think it will help you. Still plenty of pros on keyboards that don't have rapid trigger, so clearly it won't hinder you that much to wait a little. this tech might become cheaper too.
Performance wise there are similar, it will come down to the extra features that wooting does offer. You really can’t go with either one but for sure wooting has a better build quality & also could be modded. If you don’t care about build quality or aren’t a keyboard enthusiast than apex pro is a good choice.

Wooting not releasing a TKL earlier has got to be one of the worst business decisions of all time. They are way too slow. They are wasting their time on aluminium cases.
@Joao_M They have had plenty of time. They made a 60% first instead of a TKL which I'd argue is a less popular format for gaming keyboards. On top of that it's been nearly 2 years since the 60HE launch. There was only a few months between the full size keyboard and the 60% and that was during Covid. The excuses have run out.

@@boardzy why didn't you mention that?
I use 0.8mm actuation + rapid trigger. Below that there are too many typos.
I haven’t had that issue with 0.1 actuation for my Apex Pro that’s kinda weird
Neither have I, seems he got a faulty one or something
ayo why is the dav3 pro in the back now? u swapped main mouse?
Steelseries products have always had atrocious quality when it comes to software. I can say as a wooting owner the preorder wait is well worth it. I wont touch steelseries products ever again.
I bought the steel sereies keyboard as soon as i heard they added the rapid trigger feature and i got it it for 150 TKL version
you can tune at which point it actuates. I have my WASD keys set at .1 or whatever the lowest value is
Buy Wooting ... the best keyboard. I had both and is definitaly a difference in the details, which is, what matters ... its worth to wait and more cost.
should i get a wooting or black friday deal apex pro mini i can get it for 119
If they can make it to where u don’t need that awful software open to use it, that’d be a game changer
On the TKL you can use the little oled screen. Nav to actuation then click the scroll wheel down and it toggles it. No idea if its got similar support for the mini.
It runs while minimized, you can also toggle it by pressing the steel series fn key and T. So I don’t think this is really an issue
@@boardzy ooo okay will try later
@@bezellik when I try to do that, it turns all keys to 0.1 when I truly only want wasd. If I close out the app and it’s minimized, I try to close the task completely and it just switches to its default profile and not my customized one. Where as on wooting, I don’t need any software which is pretty cool. I just wish SteelSeries could do that
Does this work for the tkl apex pro?
I mean if you're lazy and don't care about having the best, go Steelseries. There's a reason almost every pro switched to the Wooting and have modded theirs.
Yeah making your keyboard feel personal/unique is a nice little niche I never thought I needed lol.
My apex pro mini died from that software update. Cant fix it lol
still waiting on the glass mouse pads round-up
The Drunkdeer is the same price or a bit less than the Steelseries Apex Pro Mini and it actually has hall effect switches. They have a 75% and a 65%.
do the rapid trigger is in the software of apex pro mini?
have you tried the drunkdeer a75 or g65?
I have the apex pro tkl, when i tried the rapid trigger thing I always like suddenly stop walking or smt like that, mb im not accustomed yet, is the wooting like that too?
I wonder if the Apex Pro can be updated similarly. Still a solid update but I'm not into 60% keyboard unfortunately. I'm more of a 96 key layout. Maybe some keyboard company will do this layout with the same tech as Wooting or the Apex Pro.
Yeah I use the TKL and they update the same
i had apex pro, and i hate it, now i am om wooting, and that works.
For me the only way it might be worth settling for the apex is if I'm getting the TKL version.
Why is that the only way
@@ghsbadgerfgb8953TKL is just my preference, and it's something wooting doesn't offer yet
optimum tech did a test on both of them if anybody wants actual facts on each & the apex "rapid trigger" is DEFINITELY not on the same level as wootings esp when it comes to the customization(not of the actual keyboard but software but the keyboard too)& as someone who does play apex, csgo, val etc i would say the extra $30-40 is worth spending on the wooting, youre better off doing it right the first time bc the apex does feel slightly off/inconsistent compared to the other
Is this the same on the Apex Pro TKL?
bro where did you get those custom keycaps??
@@toe3267 In your case yeah I’d go wooting all day,for sure.
is the LA-1 gonna get the seal of approval or no
will you be reviewing the new mousepad company material hyperglyde?
I'll wait for your drunkdeer a75 review before i buy any of them
What Wooting mods are you running? Looking clean
I made a video covering all of them ua-cam.com/video/dSp2CObyQKc/v-deo.htmlsi=k8Yc2RqOoKcZXoeo blade60 case, lighter springs and GMK dots
I just got an used Apex Pro with pudding caps already for under $40. I couldn't pass that up
got it on reddit? nice deal
Good thing is this is in stock everywherw unlike wooting
OG Apex Pro TKL is excellent gaming keyboard now if u dont want mods.
waiting for DrunkDeer A75 and huntsman v3 pro
do you think they will release another update soon for individual key customization?
No
I'm waiting for someone to make an ortholinear one. Moving around with staggered keys feels so dumb after you've used a properly aligned board.
You're gonna be waiting for a long time 💀
can you try the akko 007 anniversary keyboard? it has magnetic switches with a feature that sounds similar to rapid trigger, haven't found many reviews.
Is the spring ping spund an issue on drunkdeer a75 ?
Cant get Wooting in my Country and importing it costs a arm and a leg.
Not worth the price tag. the Apex costs ($280) quite a bit also but much less than the Wooting which is around ($380).
DAV3 or wait for RVMSE drop ?
So basically this is a good keyboard to use for Microsoft Word?
"Did Steelseries KILL Wooting Keyboards?"
Answer: No.
Actually the performance are very similar ! Apex have more disponibility on the market it s wireless and it s tkl ! 3 things that persuade me to buy it ! Wooting can be a bit better I never will buy a 60% keyboard 😊
@@lalicdalibor1367agreed
@@lalicdalibor1367and true
Exactly the review I was looking for
That's called an echo chamber. Be patient and buy the better product. The steelseries is some mass-produced garbage that could care less about the actual keyboard and more about what lines their pockets
@@yoblazeswoah if you’re a Wooting meat rider just say that bro apex is better
Drunkdeer A75 would be great if you checked it out. Not only hall effect but also gasket mounted!
It's plate mounted, at least the last time I checked.
@@itsjaesura you're right, it's plate! I mixed it up with the akko MOD 007 PC!
So apex pro mini uses Hall effect sensors? Does the version 1 Apex Pro TKL I have also use them? Because I have no clue and I am a clueless man.
Still curious about this in June 2024
omnipoints are HE
anyone know how to keep my RGB settings without keeping the horrible Steelseries GG Engine open?
Review the drunk deer g65 keyboard
I have to agree on both Logitech's GPX 2 Pro and their new Keyboard. Both seem very lack Laster against the competition. And next to no innovation what's so ever.
Logitech is living off their past, the new pro x tkl is 2020 standard and for the price, its not worth it
But no one want's to talk about the drunk deer a75 :(
I feel like this video was inspired by mine Wooting vs Apex Pro rant on discord, is it right boardzy? :D
both are close to the same prize in europe if i buy the one without keycap from wootin they are even cheaper than steelseries
2:20 kinda proves that the boards are not the same if you gain a whole mm of actuation on the wooting and yes I am here shilling
You dont need such a keyboard if your not going pro. If you want it you buy it.
Random question for someone like me to have medium or large hands would 60 or 65 be ideal for me or 75 or tkl or does hand size even matter?
The difference between 60, 65, TKL and full-size is horizontal, not vertical. So hand size doesn't matter.
@brzt4256 75 looks different though
Do the wireless apex have this new features
Yes ofc
@@boardzy so the steelseries keyboard have a better value
@@Vicjoestarrbut wooting is still better
Performance wise there are similar, it will come down to the extra features that wooting does offer. You really can’t go with either one but for sure wooting has a better build quality & also could be modded. If you don’t care about build quality or aren’t a keyboard enthusiast than apex pro is a good choice.
@@nazarethproductions7095 but the apex pro isn't it hotswappab'e
Nothing will beat the Wooting!!
Cap ima have to say Wooting and apex are basically the same you can’t really tell the difference
Plus im sure in a couple of years or something there is gonna be a new keyboard that is probably even faster then both of them technology is crazy
After experiencing steelseries software when i got acrtis nova pros i have to give a hard pass on anything steelseries. Razors software is miles better and that is saying something.
i have the apex pro . it is not possible to give the buttons different button activation or? its nice to have rapid trigger on 0.1 but on the space button i need 1
It is possible. I believe in you
@@boardzy ah u right thank u, it seems to be working now. I had to do a factory reset

The wooting being 1k hz at the price point just makes it a rip

thr 45g switches on the apex pro might be the difference for people who dont like 60g switches on wooting

Might buy a used Apex Pro TKL for 50€.
love my 60he but damn do i wish it was a tkl..
I just need wooting to make a 10kyl
Wooting not releasing a TKL earlier has got to be one of the worst business decisions of all time. They are way too slow. They are wasting their time on aluminium cases.
@Joao_M They have had plenty of time. They made a 60% first instead of a TKL which I'd argue is a less popular format for gaming keyboards. On top of that it's been nearly 2 years since the 60HE launch. There was only a few months between the full size keyboard and the 60% and that was during Covid. The excuses have run out.
@Joao_MThat doesn't matter. They made a choice to make a 60% before a TKL. This was the wrong choice. That's just how it is.
