Hey everyone! So at 14:49 I mention that if you decide to get the BooneDox landing gear instead of the native sidekick, Native wouldn’t actually honor a warranty claim if an issue happened because of the BooneDox landing gear. This has actually been disproven after making this video. So if you prefer the BooneDox landing gear, you should be safe to use it.
You guys make the best videos, and they are so helpful for people like me who are just getting back into fishing kayaks. I brought the Titan 12.5; your build videos are a great source of information. Thanks
Perfect timing and great content that will add more appeal to this model. I’ve watched your other videos and appreciate UO’s enthusiasm with the kayak fishing sport as a whole!
You might be planning to have the larger of two batteries in the aft battery compartment. If so, do you think the battery can be removed with the sidekick bar directly over the compartment? I believe you slide the seat forward to remove the cover and access the battery.
I think you’re right. I actually put the battery in the compartment today. With a little finagling I think it would come out with the sidekick on top, but I couldn’t get it out. Not a huge deal for me because once the battery goes in and the wires are run I don’t plan on reopening it. But it’s not the easiest. It seems like you’re right the seat needs to slide forward.
Hey so I actually took a deeper look into this on my boat after I read your comment. The seat can stay in there's no need to move it. However, you have to slide the plastic tray underneath the seat forward and then you can remove the battery tray. Hope that helps.
Wicked video, nice to see another angle for installing the sidekick. I've read and seen that you need to cut and remove the rear rubber handles to install it but I really prefer this option. I hope you do a detailed XI3 install video at some point.
Hey guys great video, just bought the Titan and cannot figure out the spring ruder, think Native is shut down with Hurricane. Any idea, dont want to strip the plastic cam trying to tighten.
@@DougLindeman-v6f yeah they are shut down right now. Are you having trouble with the drop down Allen head on the rudder? If so it’s more about finding a middle ground between quick release and easy pull up. Somewhere in the middle to the point where it’s snug but not tight is what worked for us but everybody’s is going to be just a little bit different. Going to have to play around with it for a little bit and find what works for you on the water
Actually the brackets for the Sidekick should be mounted more inboard for that 40" boat. The span is too great to get a minimum of 2" of pipe into it per instructional video from Native. I know it looks more rugged the way you did it but it is not correct per manufacturer instructions. And, we saw you mount the paddle holders only to later remove them when you installed the Sidekick. I know from experience they do not play well once the Sidekick is mounted. What was your final solution for those?
That kayak is a space ship can't wait to see it in the water.Hey, any good towns to fish in Mass where I can wet my 106 PDL Old Town Kayak this spring? I usually fish Hudson, Wayland, Sudbury, Stow, Framingham.

Awesome, thank you!
Outstanding job! The masterpiece is coming along nicely! Thanks for sharing my friends!

😂
Great video guys! Waiting for the delivery of my Titan X and will lean on these videos to help on all the installs. Once again, great stuff!
Good job boys! This is prob the only video on these items. Thank you. So what’s your plan for your rods. I assume the sidekick is in the way?
It’s actually not. The rods lay a little lower then the sidekick plus we still have the BlackPak pro with 8 rod holders. Appreciate the support.
@@UntamedOutdoorsmen cool! Got it!!
Great Job!!!
Thanks!

Don’t worry we definitely will just getting all the ducks in a row with the xi3.

We had no issues with the sidekick. We have the paddle holder a few inches back from the sidekick on each side with no issues.

Can’t wait either. Check Norton Massachusetts and pretty much anywhere in the cape.
@@UntamedOutdoorsmen I will!
