Excellent advice as always Ricardo! I put this on the list of videos that I want my sister to watch before she starts skating. 1:27 when I first started inline skating in May of 2019 at the age of 47 confidence was a huge enemy which led me to many falls (around 75) in the first year on my hilly asphalt streets (being on top of a hill over a large river valley I would have to drive to find a flat area). Now after skating around 1 thousand times its my friend. 2:30 I still want my skates to be as tight as possible without cutting off circulation. It annoys me if my feet move around in my skates much at all. 3:47 My wife and I skated and she fell on her bottom on the first day and that ended her skating. I wish I would have studied the videos more to prevent this as I would have liked her to skate with me. She cycles when I skate on the trail or walks around the hilly neighborhood while I do laps around her on my skates.
The hardest thing is definitely getting up from a fall and keep on skating, remember buying my rollerblade and going to the park on the very first day, only to regret spending the money on it. Now I love it and go skating every single day. I am so grateful to myself for not giving up. Planing to buy an USD Aeon 60 soon to get into grinding, seems to be the coolest part of skating.
One more thing. If you fall in fron, don't try to land on hands and feet, you can bend, over stretch your spine and get a serious injury. Always use knee pads and learn to fall on your knees.
First day in many years I went downhill ran into a brick wall and banged my head on concrete hopefully uphill from here. No protection either learned a lesson the hard way
@Keiz TV You need to trim/cut the plastic cuff straps under the buckles, that is what those lines are for on the inside. This will allow you to tighten more, make sure to s
is there any type of back protections? i have a bad back after a accident from skateboard, and looking into inline skating due to less dangers off small pebles putting you in a dead stop. i wore protection but it sadly did not help due to me landing flat on my back. Or do we have to use like motorcycle gear if there is no type of back protection?
It is possible to learn in one session... I taught a young lady in about 45 minutes, then she was on her own balancing and pushing herself... but yeah most, longer than one session...
@@PERFECTDARK10 Also, I still need to improve my balance. Even tho my skates are tight, it feels like I can still wiggle my whole feet inside. I tried tight thick socks tho Maybe I just got the wrong size or is my balance ain't right

Thank you for all these guidelines… im a beginner and never ever skate before.
This is such a big help for me❤
Nice one , back to basics
100% needed ! :)
In my 2 months of practicing inline skating i learned how to do proper strides, crossover which came naturally to me, parallel turns, and other basics
"This is not a gym, you are not squatting" such a great way to help correct skating form for those starting out!
You should review the Epic Grind Shoes. I recently discovered them, and think that it's a great (and safer) way to learn to grind as a beginner.
Thank You
Great great help. Can i ask if its common to feel hot spots on my feet on the first few days or should i get wider skates?
Very helpful reminder.. tq
Muito bom! Começando agr aos 32 pra acompanhar os filhinhos. Obrigada!!
Thank you to Share your knowledge with skate lovers 👌
Great tips
Thanks for video 💪👍
Def calling my butt cheeks "natural pillows" for a while.
Find higher Socks important not only blister around your leg but the skates seem wobbly not secure like one wrong can mess up your ankle

If i just have a descent inline i will never stop till im better
i need two videos how to bomb hills as a beginner, and what buckle to upgrade your old broken cuff buckle with.
Oh yeap them cuffs are getting broken often then you cant even tighten up your skate enough for example my USD Aeons one :(

great intro video, bitly links don't work - I got only warning about potential danger

Maybe look into snowboarding back protection. Also, some backpacks come built in with one.
Just got my 909's today and I have already fallen 3 times. I will get good.

K bela joelheira 😜❤️🤙
I'm skating with out protectsion and I'm a pro and I didn't fall at all

How can i don't give up if I don't have a good inline skates 😢
🥺 get a pair soon...
you can learn to drive with a crappy old car, it is the skill you are building what matters
@@ericbernardi8116 its too expensive here in the Philippines
@@juanQuedo yes i can learn something but the things i can learn is limited thanks for the advice though ♥️

I can’t have socks on while riding

If your feet hurt a lot, just stay home 😂
First day on skates, I got blister on my left feet. And I have fallen a lot of times.
It's my 4th day, and I'm still practicing.
@@JayHeartwing you’re not bending your knees. Bend your knees vertically over your toes.
@@PERFECTDARK10 I'm already bending my knees on skates since it's stable. Tho I still feel falling much.

@@JayHeartwing I little extra room is fine. Falling forward is key to successfully balancing.
