So glad you loved Head Like a Hole! As someone who was also a teenager in the 90's, I agree with you 100% that the author captured the period in a very seamless way. The exact opposite of what Simone St. James does in Murder Road.
The Exorcist movie does actually spend a lot of time trying to get a medical or psychological diagnosis for Regan. Maybe not as much time as the book, but it's definitely there.
It has been over 20 years since I've seen the exorcist, so I really only remember a few scenes. I need to re-watch it, for sure! I hate when nostalgia feels forced in books. Name dropping doesn't equal atomosphere!

The Exorcist audiobook is great! I listened to it during my Bookclub month where I read and watched the movie. And I love your Buffy shirt!!!

Im starting to collect the original Goosebumps books (I just made a Pango order for a handful of them) and I can't wait to get to Stay Out of the Basement eventually! I have such vivid memories of the tv episode of that one!!

Agree 💯about Gnelfs, I liked the first half way more than the rest! 😬 Head Like A Hole sounds so good! The Exorcist is one of my all time favs, just read it last year for the first time. I still can't watch the movie.🤣

Wow we're on similar reading journeys! I just read the Hellbound Heart and loved it, and also picked up the Exorcist and hope to get to that soon!

I can’t stop looking at Laymie’s care bear stare 😍 oh no you hated Gnelfs 😂 I read one of the Creepover books and it was fun..considering it wasn’t written for my age group.. but one is good for me. I prefer my rereads of Goosebumps. I rewatch The Exorcist every year. So good 🫛🍄
hahaa Care Bear Stare! did you read Gnelfs yet? HATE is a strong word. I didn't hate it...but I didn't get the hype either. I can't wait to rewatch exorcist!

I need to finally read Clive barker asap. I'm between the hellbound heart since I'm familiar with it or the damnation game after hearing Katrina talk about it.
I see what you did there! 🧛 Hellbound heart is a lot shorter. I meant to read damnation game last month, but ran out of time. I still want to read it though!
If there isn't enough Enelfs in the book I am not sure I want to read it, but The Hellbound Heart sounds good
The Gnelfs are def there in the first half of the book, but the second half is more focused on what caused them to appear, and the story behind that
I def. recommend Hellbound heart!

Silent watcher here: The idea that you are mean on books is ridiculous. I mean you hardly ever give 1 and 2 stars, how can that be mean? 3 stars means it was good, nothing fancy but good. You should see my ratings . People need to give a grip with their endless positivity, if people don't have thinks they dislike I stop trusting the things they like because they like everything... Just saying.
aw, thanks! I don't think I've ever given a 1 star, because at that point I would have DNF'd the book. (which I am trying to do more often) In this case, I just didn't want to hurt a friend's feelings since she loves this book a lot. I do think some people are scared to say anything negative in videos at times, because they are scared of backlash. I always try to be honest.
