November has been a difficult month from November 5 onward. My brain has been all over the place, and so has my reading. On some days, all I've done is read, and then on other days, all I did was watch movies/television series and stare blankly into space. Dear Mothman sounds great. I read Jason's book Attack on Sasquatch Valley for the cryptid readathon and gave it five stars. I also read Patricia Wants to Cuddle and gave it five stars, too. Chain Gang All-Stars really piques my interest. Great mid-month wrap-up!

Thanks for this indepth review! A couple of days ago I was going to puchase a Kindle, but I'm so glad I watched detailed reviews like yours. Being Canadian and cheap, the library thing is a deal breaker for me. I'm also a very visual person and sometimes I choose books based on covers, so colour is really important! Thanks again!

I read Devolution this month as well. I liked it quite a bit. I hope to read Chang gang All Stars at the end of the month or early December.

It feels very hunger games-like. I’m familiar with the commentary they share since I teach about our prison system of the past and present but I always appreciate when fiction books inform through narrative. It’s so damn powerful! I’ve been on a huge nonfiction reading slump since finishing my masters degree so I can only really learn through fiction these days 😂

Sounds like you need a bookgroup. All of the books sound great. Maybe a little gritty. I'm with you in this heartbreaking time. I'm Leary about who to watch on UA-cam. You said something so for me you feel safe to watch. 🌎We lived off the grid for 8 years, we had to hike in in the winter. I'm glad we did it but it was wonderful and hard at the same time. I'm sort of middling Nick Cutter fan as well and The Queen is definitely horror and maybe the most commercial of everything of his that I have read. I did skim a lot of the body horror -- not because I was horrified but because how by-the-numbers it all felt.

Rest Stop was one of my favorite October reads. I hope you like it. I also really liked After the People Lights Have Gone Off. There were a couple of very creepy stories in there.
