I am so excited about reading The Haunting of Velkwood with the book club. I'm also nervous because I want everyone to love it as much as I do. I am not in the right headspace for Wake Up and Open Your Eyes, but I am eager to hear what others think of it. You have some great options for Folklore February. I plan to read the first book in the Wayward Children series (finally!) after hearing so many BookTubers rave about it. Here's to a fabulous February!

I was looking for your channel this morning specifically for an idea as to what I want to read. I have thistle foot so I might give that a go, but I would like to read the 13th child as well 😬🤔 I am making use of my Lybrary this year as well and only will get books for audio from there. It’s amazing how much the library actually have in new releases. I love it.

My husband gave me The Witchcraft for Wayward Girls for my birthday. I hope I enjoy it because I’ve heard mixed reviews as well. Love your selections for Folklore February. 🧚 Some of Grimm’s fairy tales are gruesome. The Sisters Grimm is a terrific series. I read them many years ago. I’ve always wanted to read Thistlefoot. I use my library for audiobooks, too. Wonderful pile of possibilities, Kristine! 📚

Brother is my absolute favourite! I’m not a fan of 3rd person but this was incredible. I’m constantly on the hunt for something to hit the same way.

I've tried three Darcy Coates books and DNF every one. I want her stuff to work for me, but I haven't found one that hits yet. I'm so excited to read Victorian Psycho. "You look like Medusa" is a compliment. I'm a huge Medusa fan and apologist.

There is another Medusa retelling coming out later this year by Rosie Hewlett. I really enjoyed her retelling of Medea, which I read last year, so I am looking forward to this one. I have had Stone Blind on my shelf for ages, haven't got to it yet.

I love the Kim Harrison books too! Al is the best! I love all your bookshelves.

Voices in the Snow is a romance apocalypse book 😂 it's very slow but the reveal at the end was fun! I need to check out the Victorian psycho! I hated Dead Inside so much 😂 Wraith looks so cool!! You've had an awesome month so far! 🎉🎉🎉

TOTALLY agree about extreme horror. There's a lot to be desired psychologically when the author is just trying to be as gross as possible. You gotta do it right.

Luckily in 2025 I've already read some good books. I sure need them given what's been going on out in the real world! The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides and Black Sheep by Rachel Harrison are favorites so far.

I would say the “action” hits at the end of Voices in the Snow, but I thought it was just a’ight. Wouldn’t bother going back to finish. Idk if you have it on your shelves, but I really enjoyed Clytemnestra by Costanza Casati for a Greek retelling. I hope you read some 5 ⭐️s soon!

I haven’t read The Weaver and the Witch Queen, but I read The Witch’s Heart by the same author and really enjoyed it. I’ll be interested in hearing about those Greek mythology retellings when you get to them!

I ordered creepy clubhouse because of you and I was so pleased with it. The calendar was great. But I was so excited for the choose your own adventure book. I loved those when I was younger. I’ll have to keep an eye on their themes and maybe do another one.
