Hy doublet91, I think you will like the 2 as a replacement. I play the 2 and 4 clk hybrid and no 3 wood because the clk hits much easier from the deck. Bonus from the clk hybrid is that it's 4 degrees adustable ranging from 14 to 18 degrees with adustable lie-angel. Great clubs
I just bought a new G-410 3 hybrid and love it. It is much easier to hit off the deck than my 5 wood. I adjusted the standard loft down 1.5 and get a very penetrating ball flight off the deck or off the tee. It does have a tendency to want to pull off a tee but the distance 220-250 for me as a 10 handicap is great 👍 I also picked up the G-410 SFT 10.5 stiff shaft driver and love it. I adjusted the loft down to 9 degrees and am now getting greater distance even when I fade it which is my usual go to drive.
I've never really liked hybrids, but having that adjustability along with the forgiveness may switch me. Time will tell. Definitely need to get out there and see you guys, hopefully by years end
Just ordered the Titleist 816 H1 Hybrid for that reason I can change the lie angle a little flatter to help with too much draw that I usually have with hybrids
The Mizuno CLK is THE best hybrid right now if not ever. The look is phenomenal, but the workability of this club is unreal. I can hit the low "stinger" shot like my long irons with more control of ball flight. I tried almost every hybrid out there and nothing compares to this beast
I actually do like the look of turbulators. No issue there. Love the adjustability of the Ping G 410's. Quality hybrids. I left mine in the standard lie. I took a dozen shots on monitor and I averaged one yard offline which I thought was outrageously good. I did raise the loft on the 3 hybrid. I purchased the 3,4,5 and 6 . Nice job Ian and Matt ! This adjustability really changes the hybrid game for people. Spider Dubiel
Great information, you mentioned the Hot Metal Pro 4 iron, any chance you will compare those irons to the standard Hot Metal 919 and or 919 Hot Metal Forged? Seems to be an attractive option in the line, but for ,whom. The adjustable hybrid certainly adds more options vs adding longer irons for many players.
I have an older Cleveland Mashie Hybrid 20.5 degree and I loved it when I first got it but now I have a tendency to hook it a lot. Time for a new set of woods. My 3W & 5W are 15 years old. Plus a new Driver this year. It's going to be an expensive golf season.
Guys, you left me hanging! What needs to be done is to hit the Mizuno at its flat setting. If it's in an upright setting surely it's got a flat one as well. The Ping vs the Mizuno was almost apples to apples. Using the Mizuno for both tests would be more conclusive.
@@clubchampionmedia Glad you tried. Keep up the great work. The only other channel, and I'm sure you get this all the time, that is pushing the envelope is Mark Crossfield. You are doing a fabulous job!
I have a ping g410 3 wood and 3 ping g hybrids and while I'm not convinced the turbulators do a dam thing but I love the way they make the club look. One guy's opinion.
I have not tried many hybrids other than the ones I have. My favorite is a used Adams with a senior shaft that I picked up. 4 hybrid, no adjustable neck and looks kinda rough but it just works for me. I got lucky and found a good one right off the bat but I will hit the Ping this season to see what kind of yardage or accuracy I may have left on the table. 👍🏻
I have 3 Ping hybrids and Ping driver. I don't even notice the turbulators now. Guess it's all in what you get used to seeing. I'd be interested in a higher lofted wood vs the G410 played flat. Spin and launch would probably be close.
Recently got fitted. CLK was(and is) my gamer. And, as many ppl do, I am a hooker with it. And, the fitter made me swinging every single hybrid including 410. I was able to hoot them all. lol. I just ended up with reshafting my clk and it helps me it less hooky shot a lot. Most importantly, I cannot bag any woods with that TABULATOR!
I had a fitting for the 3 hybrid normal lie l was finding the right hand side of the fairway the lie was flattened out & I was straight down the middle & didn’t find the right at all👍
I like turbulators, Epic has raised chevrons, use them for alignment aids. G400 has been a great neutral hybrid, still want the CLK in my bag for the adjustability. Struggling with DI 105x in U65 feeling the head, add lead tape or go to lighter shaft? Really liked it with Modus 130X though
Ian. If you add loft or decrease loft which way does the face angle open and close? Another great video. As always I look for your content first. Cheers for a sunny Scotland. Yes its summer today over here. LOL
Thinking of switching to Mizuno. If you get a chance, could you review the new Mizuno Fli-Hi? The direct iron replacement and similar shaft length to the irons is interesting. Seems like there would be a lot of benefits to an amateur golfer. Keep up the good work guys! Love your content!
Agreed. I recently got a 7 wood and like it but I’m struggling with how the loft makes the face look open. I keep wanting to shut the face a touch to “square it” but then I hit hooks because I’ve actually closed it. Any way to help correct that?
Could you guys do a video comparing adjustable hybrids in their most fade settings. I have always hit a hook with hybrids and have stayed away from them for years. I am interested in a 3 hybrid now that they have adjustable hosels and weights now. If they could help my game, I’m all in on it.
CLK has a flat setting as well, right? Stock lie is 57 degrees, which is still pretty flat compared to other hybrids on the market. Seems like a great option if you don't need an extremely flat club and prefer the look!
Great timing, what are the most upright adjustable hybrids/woods out there? The Ben hogan hybrids can be bent 3 degrees, do all adjustable shafts affect the loft when adjusting the lie? From what I've researched 2 degrees is the most upright in an adjustable shaft. I'm 6'7" tall with irons fitted 4+ upright.
Some fitters would bend the glued hosel. There is always a chance of damage with that route but it still providea the best adjustment for a tour player that likes glued.
Great video! Don't know if was warm up or the settings but Matt seemed to hit CLK much more in the center of the face than the 410??? Flat = more towards the toe????
Why not crank down the Lie Angle on the CLK?? I'm confused... It makes it seem like the Ping is better due to cranking the CLK in the wrong direction. Just asking. I have the CLK in 19º & 22º...and I just put the 22º in -1º lie, and can't wait to go see how it helps me. I hooked 2 shots in my last round with it, but didn't notice I could make that change on the club until after the round. Fingers crossed!!!
One of the problems I’ve had with hybrids is getting a mental picture of how to hit them. Sweep them like a fairway wood or trap them like an iron? I wonder if shallow faced fairway woods like G400 or 410 serve a similar function. Bottom line, there are a lot of choices. Good time to be be a golfer.
I’ve always found hitting them the same way I would a long iron works well. Not trying to trap and squeeze it off the turf but also not necessarily trying to help it up in the air. Right in the middle.
titleist and Callaway for sure.....the callaway apex has glued in hosel and can also be ordered bent extra -2 deg flat from website. Very nice feature on new Apex hybrids
Would this be good for a shorter golfer? I’m 5’6” and always find that with hybrids/woods they sit really upright which puts me off. I currently go from 5 iron straight to driver with a 44” shaft to combat this so hoping this could solve a gap for me!

The best thing to do is to de-loft each club by 1 or 2 clicks to get the face angles open to get the Start Line right - yes the clubs will be slightly more upright, (not what you want), but the start line should help matters.
