I’m glad to see that Mizuno has a high loft hybrid in their line. Like everybody else, I’ve loved their irons from day 1 but I’ve never given their drivers and fairway clubs much thought. The fact that they have a 25* head tells me that they’re looking out for slower swing speed players. This is a contender for the next club in my bag. Last year it was Hot Metal Pro irons...a fine golf club. Mizuno has really earned my business. Thanks guys.
Always searching for the right hybrid. Since I have the the ST-Z driver and 3 wood and really like them, I figured I’d give this a go. I have the 19 degree set at 20 with the Tensei blue S shaft. This is THE BEST hybrid I’ve ever owned. The looks, versatility and length are superb. Except for my lob wedge and putter, my bag is all Mizuno.
CLK 2018 is my 16* 2hybrid with a Modus 130S steel shaft and I just recently added a CLK2020 as my 19* 3hybrid with the same steel Modus 130s shaft. Love the distance but the forgiveness so much!
Added the 19 and 22 degree to my bag a few months back with the Tensei Blue Stiff shaft, a few papers with Z Cord......man these are the best Hybrids I’ve ever hit......almost impossible to turn over for me......I’ve come from TM M2 with Reax 75 Stiff which I could turn over without trying......before these the only ones I have got on with were a Ping G5 19......I even bought a Ping g410 with a Tour 85 Reg shaft pit in the flattest setting and it went sideways.........these CLKs are penetrating, straight, feel amazing and stop....... They are a true extension of my MP20 HMB set, not and extension of my Ping G410 10.5 and 14.5 Fairway.......very very happy camper here.....
Just got fitted for this hybrid before even knowing this vid was out there. It’s EASILY the best club in my bag. I’ve put some complete crap swings on it and still get the distance and when I actually hit it, it’s deadly. Great profile looking down on it and unsure what they’ve done around the weighting, but just feels super well balanced and great quality head. It’s a winner for me
Beautiful club I have the 22 degree ,,so sweet this club !! The only negative is the face and bottom of club really took a beating alot of scratches and scuffs but who really cares awesome club its definitely staying in my bag!!!!!
Just ordered it with a Tensei Pro White 94 gram X shaft - and that is my exact hope. I currently have both an original Callaway Epic #2 18 degree hybrid (like it, it's anti-left, but sweet-spot is a little small), playing open at 17 degrees, and an 18 degree, sub-zero Callaway 5wood (still too drawy for my liking) - so my hope is that this 'flatter' #2 at 16 degrees is that club. I ordered it 1/2" shorter with a Mid Sized +4 grip to tame the Lefts
I am in need of new hybrids and bring I switched to Mizuno irons I may just need to do this... But the last clk model is 90$ on eBay so I'm wondering how much difference there is
Plus2 Golfer all the clk hybrids have been great clubs for high to mid handicappers, I have the 2005 20* version in my bag, I have tried most of the major brands and I have yet to find a modern hybrid that works as well for a broad range of shots and lies. If you’re a low handicapper then surely the HMB is the way to go as until I was given my clk that’s the type of long iron I used due to not getting on with any hybrid i tried.
@@wizmerlin8546 I'm a +2... I'm moving from jpx 900 tours to mp20s but I do not like the hmb..I like a well designed hybrid much better than 2/3 iron...I can do many more things with the hybrid personally... Easier to work, flight up or down and so on...I just prefer hybrids especially off the tee and I generally carry a 19 degree 240 yards so i use it alot off the tee... Right now I'm using the Cobra f7 and really like them but I have fallen in love with Mizuno the last 18 months
Plus2 Golfer, I’m just a hacker who has excelled at every sport I have tried except golf (which is the reason I love it so much) I played for years with new and old clubs without improvement, then last year I bought an old set of Mizuno Mx’s, now the only part holding me back is my inability to use a driver, I’m now at 21. But the beauty of golf is what suits me will probably not suit you or 98% of other golfers, All I can say is Mizuno and me have clicked and irons wise I doubt it will ever change, once im bellow 20 I WILL get fitted for a full set of mizzys as everyone I know dropped down to single figures quite quickly after getting fitted. Happy birdie hunting.
@@wizmerlin8546 I'm an ex jock as well lol...I played baseball/golf in college and AA for the reds, played basketball at an all State level in high school, have bowled 300 twice and was valedictorian as well...I stopped playing golf for 8 years to focus on my baseball career and once I came back to golf my first 4 rounds were 84-74-73-73-71... The first round I ever played when I was 15y/o I shot 98 and that's the highest score I ever had...2 years after that I finished 3rd in the state... Golf and I have always clicked... BUT IT IS BY FAR THE HARDEST SPORT I'VE EVER PLAYED and you are right every player for into clubs differently... Even though I'm a lower handicap I still prefer hybrids over long irons every day of the week
@@wizmerlin8546 keep grinding and you'll get there...I just bought a launch monitor and am opening a small instruction studio... Moving to the Myrtle Beach, sc area in 2 years and going to start an instruction facility there as well
Just ordered the 16 today with the Tensei White 94 gram X shaft and plan to play it as my long fade tee club on tight holes. I currently play the original Callaway Epic #2 18 degree hybrid, opened to 17 degrees, for exactly this purpose - and I was looking for a slightly larger sweet spot and more forgiveness lower in the face head that the CLK offers - and that is less upright.
Just what I needed. Seeing Matt bomb a Hybrid past my driver.
Chris is a well of knowledge. I really enjoyed his short history of the hybrid.
Chris is a workhorse on social media, giving overall transparency and confidence toward the Mizuno brand.

Chris was great to have on the video. Totally knowledgeable and well spoken.
Going to go on record that Matt should put this in the bag - and I can see myself buying this club - consistency of shape was amazing.

The first version of the CLK is my favorite club of all time
Right, I have reached tech overload, I now need a nap to dream about miss hitting my hybrid 250yards!
Chris had the look of a proud papa after Matt said he really liked it 😆
This might be the video I was looking forward to the most this week. It's the biggest question in my bag right now.

Brilliant to have a fade biased hybrid that can adjust to add more draw than the other way around... good job Mizuno
Agree, I rope hook most of my hybrids when i go after it, thank goodness they are adjusting the lie!
I definitely need to go to the local pro shop when these come out to test these out myself. I already feel like I’m sold after watching this video.
Matt could play this no problem. Really nice mizuno products this year

Same experience for me
I bought the tw x irons after watching your review and trying them. These are what I am wanting for my 3 and 4....
I've seen Chris on a few videos over the years. Seems to be a great guy 👍

That guy from Mizuno is a cool guy and could absolutely pass as Rory Mcilroys brother 😂
Wow that thing looks good

When is the release date? I love this time of year and you guys do it best.
ive just bought the old model as i still think they are great looking clubs, looking forwrd to putting them in play on Sat, especially the 16'
Does a lefty swinging on a simulator set up for a righty change simulator ball flight? I noticed it’s saying fade on spin axis when Matt is his draws
Great site and informative reviews and I am actually looking at these clubs but I simply can't relate to the performance of Matt
When are these released?
I prefer long irons. Like back in the days days. Traditional. Hybrids are cool. I like the sound of them. But the long iron scoop feels the best
Is that you Sam Sneed??
Are you guys doing a review with the lowest lofted version? I'm very interested in seeing if I could swap out my 4 wood for this

That should go straight in Matt's bag...
What is this club meant to be like a 5 wood alternative
I'll have 2 look 4 sure, went 2 driving iron because of draw bias.
22° head turned down to 20° is going to be pretty anti-left as far as hybrids go

"It looked like a long iron flight"...carrying it 250 😀
Has anyone compared this to the Ping G425 hybrid? I've got one in 4H and it's a great club. Just curious how these two compare.
What a hybrid that doesn't hook?!!...I've got to try this one
As much as I hate fairway woods this in 16 could really fill a void in the bag as a backup tee club.
I had a jpx 900 hybrid 16 turned down to 14 two years ago. I had insane distance with this club almost as far, maybe more than a 3 wood!

My god, immediately that sound gets me...and I hate hybrids!
If I were to get a 3 wood (15*), what hybrid loft do you recommend for the next club down? 16 or 19 or...?
Paul Conan Murray 19
160 ball speed with a hybrid. I rly need to stop watching these
Ohhhh thiiiis is nice!!
Again, first. Guess I get one of these too.
250 carry with a 20deg!? Yikes
