    I find the wire-frame views helpful when objects/models make contact with other objects/models. It's easier to see clipping and thus easier to fix. I appreciate the pace of this series so far. I think you are carving out just the right amount of material to cover at a time.

      Yeah, some of them have the use - as you say .. but I've never understood the box views though .. 😀 .. The timing and pacing will obviously depend on the subject .. I've been writing up a script on the Scene Tab and I don't think they'll be too much to it .. I've also got a couple of real Newbie videos ready to go also .. Using the Daz Install Manager and then loading models into a scene (building a character) .. so it might seem a step backwards in the next couple of vids .. But I'm trying to cover as much detail as I can with each topic .. cover every menu option and button to press (nearly .. ) .. and trying to do them in a sensible order .. We'll see how they go!

    Just found your channel after trying to work out how to fix poke through for clothing, and it worked a treat. I've just started learning DAZ so looking forward to your series of videos.

    I'm previewing background environment images in the preview pane. How do I remove / clear out / wipe clean the preview pane ???

    • @RaukoDaz3D
      @RaukoDaz3D  5 місяців тому

      How do you mean? If you want rid of the background - then just delete it in the Scene tab like you would anything else. If this isn't what you mean - then you'll have to give me a little more context ..

    When I want to clear a scene (File -New) there used to just be the little box 'create new scene' which you would click and then hit yes to confirm. Since the last update DAZ have put in this huge advertising box which annoys the hell out of me. Is there any way of getting rid of this advert and going back to the original 'create new scene' box?

    • @RaukoDaz3D
      @RaukoDaz3D  6 місяців тому

      There's been a few complaints about it over on the Daz forums so we'll have to see if it gets officially removed in the future ..
      but .. for now .. there is a workaround .. but I haven't used it yet so I can't comment on how good it works (or not!)
      You can find the full write up here on Reddit : www.reddit.com/r/Daz3D/comments/17o7mqr/mini_guide_are_you_also_annoyed_with_the_new/
      But for now :
      Fire up Daz Studio to make sure you got the empty scene you want to use. Or... (shudder): go through the new scene wizard for now ;)
      Immediately save your empty scene: File => Save as... => Scene. Give it a good name.
      Open your content library pane, expand "My Daz Library" and find this empty scene in the "Scenes" folder.
      Now create a new folder in your library called "Templates" and move the empty scene in here.
      This is an optional step but it serves 2 purposes: 1) All metadata will get reset which means that this empty scene won't show up in your smart contents pane. 2) By using a dedicated 'templates' folder it'll be easier to remember what this is all about at a later time.
      Find the empty scene file again and right click on it: select the "Create custom action" option.
      It doesn't really matter what root menu you want to use, nor what name you give it. But make sure it's something to your liking.
      When done press F3 (customize window) and expand the "Custom" section at the top. Here you'll find your new custom action.
      Now right click on the custom action and select "Change keyboard shortcut". Press Control + n, and confirm that you want to re-use the previous shortcut.

    Sir, I love your tutorial series and have learnt a few things since I have just started a few days ago but unfortunately I have messed up the daz settings and options and some of the columns and contents like parameters etc on the right hand side are not showing up. Please help , I tried reinstalling but it is not working.

    • @RaukoDaz3D
      @RaukoDaz3D  Рік тому +1

      Hey there .. to get the parameter tab back go up to the menu at the top of Daz ... Window > Tab (panes) .. and in the sub-menu that appears .. look for Parameters .. one that is selected and highlighted then the tab should reappear .. do the same with any other tabs that are missing.
      If it's something beyond that simple solution .. then I'd probably need to see a screenshot of some kind to see what's going on.
      But do check out this vid to see if it helps : ua-cam.com/video/T63FvHumppY/v-deo.html
      Hope this helps!

    A tutorial about the dimension presets would be useful. How to 9:16 HD instead of 16:9 HD for example.

    How can the beginner apply those many options if hasn't any character? You first had to add any simple default character like g8f with Toulouse Hair and Basic Wear which is easy for zero beginner.

    • @RaukoDaz3D
      @RaukoDaz3D  Рік тому +3

      There's a chicken and egg issue with these early videos. What comes first? Loading an object into the scene or showing how the controls work? Whichever is chosen then important information from the other video we could have done first would be missing for a complete newbie to Daz. Not to mention them needing a video on the Scene Tab to be able to put a character together.
      The character used isn't really important in this video. It's there for something to look at through the viewport. I could have used a cube and the video would have been the same. But then should I have done a video on primitives and how to add a cube into the scene before this viewport video? But then, people watching that video wouldn't have known how to use the viewport to be able to successfully add a cube.
      Somebody watching doesn't need anything in scene to check out the controls. But to demonstrate those controls I need something .. anything .. In scene so that people can visually see things moving and the effects when I'm doing things.
      So Chicken and Egg. What comes first? Whichever we say there's a compelling argument for the other.
      We needed SOMETHING to look at in scene .. what that was and how it got there isn't important for this video as I mention at the time .. we get onto that in other videos.
      I'm trying to add in-video links where appropriate pointing to other videos where I go into how I did _something_ that i mention. Sometimes I need to do this retrospectively .. so go back to a video I did 4 days ago to link to a video I uploaded today. It's not so easy to always remember where they are.

      @@RaukoDaz3D I know that there are other videos but I'm watching them step by step. I'm not a beginner, maybe less than a medium level. Your tutorials are really good and they made me learn new things. Hope you accept my critics. Thanks for your efforts.

      I'm not disagreeing with you .. .. I've had 4 out of 5 in the beginners series uploaded for over a week before I made them public .. For the reasons you state, it was hard to work out the best order for releasing them .. if I release "A" first then that requires knowledge of "B" .. But "B" would require knowledge of "C" .. But "C" needs to know about "A" .. and I went back and forwards between ABC or CBA before in the end it was ... just release them and assume that 99% of people who watch are going to have at least a basic knowledge of Daz and can fill in the blanks that come about due to the order they are released.
      For the absolute new to Daz 3D guys .. I'll hopefully have in-video links in place pointing them in the right direction if I talk about something they aren't sure about.

    A little error here - You do not need nVidia card to render in iRay. You can render with any card using cpu but it takes much longer.

      I can't remember if I said that or not so I'll take your word for it that I did .. Did I mention you can't render at all or was I just referring to the NVIDIA Iray preview? I had a mate with a AMD and he told me the preview just doesn't work .. so, apologies if that's not the case

    The videos in thr playlist for begginer tutorial seem to be out of order. Could You fix that?

    • @RaukoDaz3D
      @RaukoDaz3D  2 місяці тому

      I never did them in any particular order as most can be viewed as a stand alone video .. a few do follow along the lines of " .. in a previous video" and so those should be ordered
