The fact that the opening animation actually made sure to include Sniper nocking the arrow (that sharp jerk when he still had the bow down) before drawing it back, when every other piece of media would have just had him draw it back from the start is amazing attention to detail.
Listening to the audio of the Backburner compared to the stock Flamethrower, the Backburner actually sounds more like a roar, fitting the dragon ornament in more than just visuals.

Since he didn't mention it, the actual best melee with this loadout is the Powerjack. The increased run speed obviously supports the Backburner's movement-centric playstyle but also it's another great mindgame tool because nobody expects you to try meleeing with a weapon that makes you take extra damage. And the health on kill suits flanking since you likely won't have a Medic on hand.
Bro if you really want to fuck with people by using a weapon that makes no sense whip out the volcano fragment. It sure as hell makes you less predictable. Also it isn't the powerjack which is just so damn boring at this point.
Wrong, it's the Back Scratcher (a pairing I affectionately term the Back'n'Back) because not only do you turn health packs into super health packs (sure is nice to get to nearly full HP from just 1 medium pack) but also you do extra damage with it, meaning a random crit oneshots literally any (non-overhealed) class in the game shy of a Heavy - who now has only 50 HP. Even if you don't crit you're still hitting for 80-odd damage, which is a petty hefty chunk. The only downside is Mediguns and Dispensers are basically worthless to you, but since you're usually on your own on the flank (i.e behind enemy lines) neither tend to be all that prevalent and if the Medic has a Crossbow it circumvents your healing reduction anyway.
not only was the reveal of this being the backburner instead of the huntsman awesome, but i'm gonna give so many props to the animation at 9:06-10:08. the movements are so lifelike and it really brings the characters to life even more. edit: Nevermind, just finished watching, and I can confirm the SFM bits throughout the entire video are golden. This episode of Mann's Guide has to be my favorite episode so far, no questions asked. It's incredibly informational, had me laughing like a hyena, and the SFM animations! I can't fathom how to describe how clean they are, they are too polished for me to even think of eating off of them! I definitely respect how long it takes for these episodes to come out. I love myself some good polish, good writing, and good... good, I like things that are good.

That intro was on-point and clever! As a pyro main the uses Backburner all the time....I agree completely. I usually combo it with the gas-passer--mainly use that in MvM--and I have a lot of fun with it. Intro was hillarious, and glad to hear/see LazyPurple again!! Between the last Mann’s Guide and this one, I started playing TF2 for the first time. It’s immediately strange how differently I view these videos now. I see a lot more of the nuance of the gameplay. Also great editing, and really good sound design, especially in that intro scene!
First, I can't believe how good the facial expressions are, it doesn't feel like SFM anymore, it's even more pro. Second, the post-credit scene really felt like I was watching a trailer to half life episode 3
I always loved the sound design that goes into these videos. It just sounds fluid and professional. Hell, Ethan even got me a little into sound design, which works well as an amateur musician myself.
The Audio cutting out gave me a heart attack, my Left IEM broke on me in a very similar manner as the audio cut out at 19:13, and my mind went "NOT THE OTHER ONE"

20:27 i was in the match recently with my friend who asked me to go kritzkrieg (crit machina for funnies) and also there was a 1000+ soldier man with unusualls and golder rocketlauncher, the moment i didnt gave him crits at the start of the round he instantly vote kicked me (even as i was 1 medic in the team), so i know how those soldier-mains feel

Im SO glad reflect jumping was mentioned. Im pretty much addcited to combo pyro and love that you found a way to make backburner giga brain. Rockets, rollers, detonators, even flare guns if youre better at the game than me, throw them at me and like 5% of the time ill actually kill someone. This episode of Mann's Guide has to be my favorite episode so far, no questions asked. It's incredibly informational, had me laughing like a hyena, and the SFM animations! I can't fathom how to describe how clean they are, they are too polished for me to even think of eating off of them!
I definitely respect how long it takes for these episodes to come out. I love myself some good polish, good writing, and good... good, I like things that are good.
The fact that you got actual John Patrick Lowrie to voice the Sniper, even for just one line, rather than using an AI voice generator, speaks to your integrity as a content creator, and I applaud you for it. 💜

The prevalence of Sonic music whenever SoundSmith goes off on movement mechanic rants in his videos never ceases to amuse me.
Between the last Mann’s Guide and this one, I started playing TF2 for the first time. It’s immediately strange how differently I view these videos now. I see a lot more of the nuance of the gameplay. Also great editing, and really good sound design, especially in that intro scene!
First, I can't believe how good the facial expressions are, it doesn't feel like SFM anymore, it's even more pro. Second, the post-credit scene really felt like I was watching a trailer to half life episode 3
I always loved the sound design that goes into these videos. It just sounds fluid and professional.
Hell, Ethan even got me a little into sound design, which works well as an amateur musician myself.
The Audio cutting out gave me a heart attack, my Left IEM broke on me in a very similar manner as the audio cut out at 19:13, and my mind went "NOT THE OTHER ONE"

Im SO glad reflect jumping was mentioned. Im pretty much addcited to combo pyro and love that you found a way to make backburner giga brain. Rockets, rollers, detonators, even flare guns if youre better at the game than me, throw them at me and like 5% of the time ill actually kill someone. Pyro can be huge brain its just about opening your mind man.
